5 out of 5 eggsStill running after 3 years

Pros: Quiet

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had this power supply for three years and it still hasn't failed me. I recently upgraded my computer, keeping this PSU, and it still works great.

2 out of 5 eggsSlightly Absurd

Pros: Well, the only thing that I can really think of is that when it works, it's really quiet and runs pretty cool. That's why it gets 2 eggs.

Cons: It died on me 60 days after I installed it. I was using my computer, went to cook lunch, and returned, and my computer was dead. It wouldn't power up long enough to boot the CPU; it would run the fans for under 2 seconds and then would shut off. A power supply that is used properly and according to specifications should last much longer than 60 days. If it didn't have the pros that I gave, I would like to give it -2 eggs.

Other Thoughts: When advancing an RMA from Cooler Master, I was told that it would be shipped out in 2 business days and arrive 3 days later. It was shipped out 4 business days later, and arrived 10 days after I initially called. I was hung up on after being put on hold for 7 minutes, dumped into voicemail after 22 minutes on hold, and then told that I was responsible for paying for return shipping even though their product was faulty. Not exactly what I'd expect for customer service when spending a hefty amount on a power supply.
Also, check with your local repair store if you don't have a spare power supply... Mine didn't have any power supplies with enough Watts to boot my PC.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty much perfect *and* energy efficient!

Pros: One of the few power supplies that's certified Energy Star Silver or better! That saves envergy and saves you money! The big 120 mm fan moves air well without making much noise. I like the "crackle" finish -- it has retro 40's or 50's look that goes well with my black case, and would look great in a clear case.

Finally, the power supply has multiple 12V power rails which is a *good* thing (not bad as some manufacturers claim). Multiple rails help to isolate noise on the power line from one set of components to another -- it's best that the CPU isn't getting noise from the disk drives, and that sudden current draws by the CPU don't mess with other components. This is particularly true if you're overclocking and cranking up the voltages.

Cons: None. Some folks think that modular cables are better (this doesn't have them), but I worry about the extra connections required by modular power supplies. Connectors are one of the most unreliable parts of a system; a less than perfect connection at high currents will make the power "dirtier", particularly if there are spikes in current required.

Other Thoughts: It comes in a fancy but strudy box. That's generally just a waste of money and uses up space in the landfill, but in this case it's perfect for holding all the leftover stuff from the system build: install DVDs, manuals, unused cables, etc. I consider it a real plus.

5 out of 5 eggsIt is great, but...

Pros: It is very quiet and runs cool (Silent and cold). I have decided that all my PSUs will be Cooler Master from now on.

Cons: Unless you have a scientific reason for electing this unit over the modular version, GO WITH THE MODULAR. Modular is the same price and makes for an easier, cleaner installation.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect size and has great connections

Pros: This PSU has just the right amount of connectors. Has 4 6-pin for two CrossFire ATI's and plenty of SATA. The sleek black design is really nice, along with the size. It is not much bigger than my previous model.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My Rig:

2 out of 5 eggsUnhappy

Pros: Installed easily and has all the connections one would want for the lastest builds. Plenty of power.

Cons: Got this for my new build. Things went fine until last night, my UPS made a high pitched sound, and everything came to a stop. The PSU is dead. Why, I don't know. I'm pretty sure I've underloaded it, but dead nonetheless. RMA'ed with Newegg. I hope this was just a glitch. I've never, repeat, never had a problem with a power supply. Running some over 10 years old.

Cons: had trouble indentifying the right wire for my board, but found it!.

1 out of 5 eggsFAIL

Pros: none

Cons: I've had this product for about a month (purchased Jan 2010) and its already dead. It just shut off one day while i was working on my tower and now the PSU wont stay on longer than about 2 seconds. This was my first Cooler Master PSU and probably my last.

Other Thoughts: It may have been harsh to say none for pros, but if a power supply cant even last a month it doesnt deserve any pros.

1 out of 5 eggsDesappointed

Pros: No comment

Cons: Big disappointment with this product; I bought in January 24,2009, and after exactly one year, my power supply failed and stop work; in January 22, 2010 I call Cooler Master to report the problem, and over the phone with a technical supporter , e check the power supply if works, failed; He ask me to open a eRMA, which I did (USRMA0007480) and he recommend, if I need speed on my request, to give my credit card for guarantee of the return the defected part. Well, so far today( J\Feb 03), after couples of calls, I did not get my part, and not even a e-mail being send saying something about.
Not recommend, check others first.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for any inconvenience you have had. The RMA was replaced and sent to you. The warranty has a 5 year warranty to make sure you have a good power supply.

Respectfully,

CMUSA Customer Support.
