5 out of 5 eggsCan't beat this for quality

Pros: Built a system with this power supply 6 years ago, which I'm typing this on right now. Still running strong and quiet. No issues whatsoever, and it's been worked pretty hard. I've even occasionally had it up to 680W (that's output, not input) for a few minutes at a time (to see if it would run 2x 7970 GHz cards mining - it will, but too close to the limit for me), and it just keeps going. Love it, love it, love it.

Cons: None. Does what it says on the box, without complaining.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Well, I bought this product because of the amps it has on the +12Vrail but after testing this power supply for some weeks, it has been really great!

The fan is very silent, even whilst gaming this thing is a beast. It stays very cool, less than 50ºc almost everytime, it has 2 6+2 PCI power connectors for SLI/CrossfireX.

This was tested using a system containing:
i7 4770
GTX 660
2TB HDD
64GB SSD

Cons: The cables are too long, which causes poor cable management, I suggest getting this with a Full Tower case., other than that, none.

Other Thoughts: I'm really happy that I chose this PSU, I was going to get a Corsair one but there were none left as I didn't bought this product here, and I wasn't dissapointed

2 out of 5 eggsOnly powers Motherboard

Pros: Cant say much

Cons: My powersupply can only power up my motherboard, and nothing else. I have a couple of fans, a DVD tray, and the CPU fan. I have no clue what I am doing, but I assume my power supply should power up my PC without any problems. Everthing that needed power is connected, so Im not sure if I have a faulty Power supply, or I am screwing up.

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: I purchased the Cooler Master GX 750W power supply. At first I loved it. It was quiet, sleek looking, and responsive.

Cons: Unfortunately, after using it for only three months, it died on me. No warning, I shut the computer off, and came back to reboot it after being gone for three days. My computer wouldn't start. As I opened it up and started diagnosing the hardware, I realized that nothing was getting power at all. I ran the paper clip test, which worked at first, but then when the system didn't start up, I re did the paper clip test and met no success. Unfortunately, it not only failed, but it failed at a time I needed it the most.

Other Thoughts: Worse, the warranty provided by the manufacturer expired the day I purchased the product. I am running in circles trying to get the warranty extended. My opinion. Spend a little more and get a power supply from another more reliable company.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Ben,

We apologize for the trouble that your are experiencing with your GX-650 power supply. This power supply comes with a 5 year warranty so it is still under warranty. Please contact us so that we can get you a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong!

Pros: My unit was purchased January 31st 2011!

It's been through numerous power outages, basically ran through entire hot humid summers, running my machine 24/7.

It powers a basic, old Q8200 based rig with a GTX 560 Ti and I've had no problems with this PSU whatsoever, never had to replace it, or contact CM support.

Cons: I guess they realised the reliability of their product and added a premium. heh.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this PSU to anyone who is gunning for a casual gaming PC or HTPC. I bought this in January 2011 and it's still going strong.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks excellent!

Pros: -Exceeds what I need in wattage (by a little bit).
-No problems with the voltage rails
-Just put it in and it worked like it should
-Got it on a 60% off sale, it seems. I got this for 39.99USD and I didn't even know it was $100 list price!
-Guaranteed at least 82% efficiency in the AC to DC conversion process; very good for such a good price I got!

Cons: -Can't complain about 650W for $40

Other Thoughts: I utilise this with:
AMD Phenom II x4 970 @4GHz 125W
AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz 2GB
8GB DDR3
4 or 5 case fans

5 out of 5 eggsVery Reliable Power Supply

Pros: I've had this power supply for over 3 years and it's still rocking as a gaming pc power supply. Never had any problems with it and would recommend it to anyone who wants a very reliable power supply for their gaming set up.

4 out of 5 eggsReview

Pros: 1. Price
2. Clean-ish Power
3. Stable

Cons: 1. Somewhat Short Cable Lengths
2. Came without mesh as shown in picture(s) (Cable ties instead)
3. Power isn't entirely clean

Other Thoughts: My power supply didn't come with the black mesh that the picture(s) show and was instead replaced with white cable ties.. The power isn't entirely "clean", I would say maybe 87% "clean".. The cables are pretty short, not TOO short, but could be a bit longer.

Overall it's not a bad power supply.. I won't buy another one, but it worked and still is working. I took 1 egg off for the mesh issue, cable length issue, and power cleanliness issue.

1 out of 5 eggsCan't feed 2 HD6870

Pros: worked fine for more than 1 year

Cons: Died in 3 days after I crossfired my HD6870.
Maximum power consume of my system is less than 500W but 650W PSU died.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear valued customer,
I'm sorry for the troubles with your GX 650W PSU. Let us take advantage of the warranty on your PSU and get it RMAed through the eRMA link below.

It's worth noting that depending on your setup, your system may be overdrawing the PSU, especially with one of the high-power consumption AMD processors out there and any other peripheral or expansion devices you may have hooked in. According to the Radeon HD 6870 system requirements, it recommends a 600W PSU for CrossFireX setup, so a high power CPU and some other devices could easily put this unit on its edge.

If you need any further assistance on your setup or about any other Cooler Master products or questions, please come talk to us on Live Chat or ticket support through the Contact Us link I'm also sharing below!

Regards,
Kevin with Cooler Master
