5 out of 5 eggsGreat power supply! 8 month owner

Pros: I have owned it for 8 months now and it has been great to me! My motherboard still shows that its 12V rail, 5.5V rail, and 3.3V rails have continued to put out the exact same voltage since I bought it.

Fully modular, 80+ gold rated, it really is silent, never feels warm to the touch even when drawing 100% full system load for a while (900watt ish). And it doesn't feel like a cheapo plastic case power supply!

Cons: Could have been a bit cheaper, I payed $220, but I'm hoping that it is well designed and will last much longer than other cheaper PSUs.

Other Thoughts: Great efficiency is important when you're drawing a lot of power, for the first 5 months I used this in a crypto currency mining computer, and i would like to believe it saved a bit of power!

4 out of 5 eggsWorked great for 2 1/2 years

Pros: - Very Quiet
- System runs very stable (the best reason to buy a quality PSU)

Cons: - Now shuts off intermittently
- Now overheating

Other Thoughts: This PSU worked great for 2.5 years and yesterday it suddenly shutdown. I immediately opened the system and the PSU was hot to the touch. I don't recall it ever getting more than barely warm before. After a few minutes it came back on only to shut down after 5-10 minutes.

The system is quite basic and certainly not putting any heavy load on this beast.
- Intel I7 CPU with 8GB RAM
- One NVIDIA GTX-260 Core 216
- Cooler Master 240L CPU Cooler
- Samsung SSD
- Four Western Digital Hard Drives (3 Green, One Black)
- LG CD/DVD Burner
- Cooler Master CM Storm Case

I've built at least a hundred PC's for friends and family over the last 25 years, including a lot of Cooler Master Products. This is the first one to my knowledge that has failed.

Now we will see just how good the Cooler Master Warranty is. They will hopefully cross-ship a replacement so I don't have to be without my PC. I don't mind giving a CC as a guarantee. Right now I am at least able to get my critical work done working in short spurts.

I will report back on how the warranty support goes.

1 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1200W

Pros: it was quite while working

Cons: The first one of these I had lasted about 8 months. I bought another to replace that one and it lasted 3 months. The last one failed while the computer was off and just keeping the motherboard going since the computer was not in use for a week as I was on travel. When I got home and tried to fire up the computer it was dead.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We sincerely apologize for the trouble you had with the power supply. This is definitely not normal and we can help make this right by replacing the unit or even exchanging it. Would you be able to contact so we can rectify the situation to your satisfaction?

2 out of 5 eggsBeware blown after 3 months

Pros: Now I know it's cheap!

Cons: Failed after 3 months under light load, near or under 50%, a capacitor exploded inside at night.
Sent back to Cooler Master for RMA, they are painfully slow, the status of my RMA is "testing" for more than 2 weeks now!

Other Thoughts: How hard is it supposed to be, to test a blow power supply. I did it, computer was working at night, loud pop at night, computer isn't working anymore... plug another power supply, the computer is working.. plug the defective one, computer isn't working. Not rocket science! Two weeks! Seriously!!!

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Novacrash,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Would you be able to contact us so we can follow up with you and find out what the cause of the delay is? We would like to rectify the situation.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted

Pros: Solid power, plenty of connections, and only had a few hiccups

Cons: Lasted less than 2 years. Under low stress (a few harddrives and a few year old graphics card), just kind of died. There were a few hiccups, with it cutting off, but those were few and far between.

Other Thoughts: Just wish it lasted. Very disappointed I paid this much for a PSU and have to buy another one less than 2 years later.

Manufacturer Response:

We sincerely apologzie for the inconvenience. To clarify the unit you have comes with a 5 year warranty; we can definitely replace it for you and get you a working unit. Please give us a call or contact us via Live chat so we can help rectify the situation for you.

5 out of 5 eggs2 years still going strong

Pros: not sure this will show I'm a verified owner, I bought it about 2 years ago from the egg..
almost 2 years and it's still going strong, still super quiet.
running 4 SSD's, 2 Raid 0 arrays
2 1TB WD HDD's
1DVD/Blu Ray reader
1 DVD/Blu-ray reader/writer
AMD FX8350
16 GB G-Skill Ripjaws 1866
Gigabyte GA 990FXA-UD5 mainboard
addon PCIe 4 port Sata III card
was running 2 Evga GTX-570 in SLI
now running 2 XFX R9-290X cards Crossfire..
occasional drives thru the hotswap 3.5" bays
CM Seidon 240MM Liquid cooling w/ 2-120mm fans
1 200mm front fan
3 total 140mm fans elsewhere in case
all shoved in a CM Cosmo's II case
plenty of extra cables that come in their own bag, which is great for other accessories for this PC.
Power supply has not once burped, hiccup'd over otherwise failed to power this game box up..
have had other so called high end PSU's fail after 2 years.. not this baby... still going strong..
for the price, can't beat it for a top tier PSU!!

Cons: uhhh no ports to power up a coffee maker? whats up with that!!!

5 out of 5 eggsMoar Power(cables)!

Pros: I haven't had the chance to SLI with this PSU unit so I can't comment much on this, but I have had quite a bit of peripherals/accessories attached to this, though, nothing it shouldn't be able to handle:
-Koolance PMP-450s pump
-Logisys Cold Cathode Light 15"
-(1) NVIDIA GTX 680 (not overclocked)
-Intel 3820 LGA 2011 CPU
-8 fans for case/rad (7)120mm, (1)240mm

Cons: At around 8 months of ownership ( 4 months ago from this post) I started to hear a slight (really slight, barely audible, you literally had to put your ear to it to hear it) whine and popping! SEE OTHER THOUGHTS

Other Thoughts: About that noise, I looked up some things that could be wrong but couldn't find anything other than overpowering the PSU, so I decided to blow some compressed air through it, haven't heard anything since.

I have been trying to find modular peripheral cables for this thing for about a month now and I can't find any! I really don't want to resort to other sellers for this because well, I honestly don't want to fry something from a bad cable, and Cooler Master's site does not have any for sale. It hasn't for the past month already.

If you don't mind extra cables then it's not a problem but if you really like to keep a tidy case you might want to go fully modular.

5 out of 5 eggs6 weeks of mining going strong

Pros: quiet, powerful up to rating

Cons: Semi modular

Other Thoughts: So 6 weeks of 24/7 mining with kilowatt saying 1167 watts. The power supply is fairly quiet even at full load and it's protected itself and the mobo a few times when something slipped and shorted. I tried adding a second power supply with the little add2 device which seems to work OK but made me nervous so I took it off

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Silent
80 Plus Gold
1176 watt on single rail

Cons: Wire feel cheap
Wire could be braided

Other Thoughts: They provide four 8 pin pcie and four 6 pin pcie, but I doubt 1200W is enough for 4 video card that use 8pin/6pin.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Works great. Everything is functioning as intended.

Cons: The cables are bit too short. Harder to do cable management and some slots are compatible with my previous corsair cables, which are way longer than the cables provided.
