1 out of 5 eggs2 Power Supplies later ...

Pros: High power, hybrid, fully modular

Cons: I'm getting ready to RMA my second unit in two years. First one had a popping sound whenever it turned on, finally died. Second one powers off immediately after turning on, repeating for about 30 seconds. I can get it to fire up if I hit the switch on the back.

Other Thoughts: Waste of time and money.

Manufacturer Response:

Good Afternoon Barry,

I apologize you're having issues with your power supply as we will look forward to assisting you through our RMA Request at the following link below at our CM Fanzone.

I look forward to your response.

1 out of 5 eggswas pretty good.

Pros: uh finish on it looks pretty cool. when it works the 12v rail is very strong with very low ripple and solid 12.121v

Cons: Well where to start... the 24 pin cable was not sleeved as advertised. The warranty is NOT TEN YEARS i don't know why it says it on the box, in the book, and on this site. Warranty is half that... the fan controller i got is missing the switch in the middle... but eh i didn't have room for it anyway.

So after getting the run around with live tech support i chalked it up to outdated info on newegg, so i hooked it up in my system and noticed when ever it would turn on it would make a very loud clicking sound. I passed it off for a big solid state relay or something of the sort... Oh boy was i wrong! Worked great for about 4 months and when i decided to fire up my computer today i was greeted with quite a show. That clicking sound was actually sparks! It started to make a fizzle sound when all of a sudden it decided to go Chinese new year on me in a shower of sparks, smoke and fire! Granted my computer is a bit power hungry I doubt I ran this thing past 70% of it's "Rated" power.

Awaiting RMA info from coolermaster.. or as ill call it my "newyearmaster" pfffff

Put my old Ultra X-Connect 500w back in... everything seems okay my specs are....

Intel I7 3770k
Asus Maximus V formula
Two Sapphire 7950 Refrence boost editions in crossfire
16GB of crucial ballstix smart tracers
Two wester digital 1TB Greenpowers
Samsung 840 Pro 512GB SSD
Two full cover EK CSQ 7970 waterblocks with EK CSQ bridge
EK full cover board set
EK CSQ Intel cpu block
EK 360XTX on the front and 280XTX on the top
and two MCP-655B in a EK pump housing
all stuffed in a Lian Li PC-A77R running 6 fans in total

Other Thoughts: Thought i would give CM a shot and so far i'm not very impressed.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear valued customer,
I'm very sorry for the troubles you encountered with your PSU. If you note any kind of clicking, buzzing, or ticking noises in your PSU, please don't hesitate to contact us immediately to help you out. The only sound a power supply should be making is the fan moving air through the unit.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked for a while

Pros: It ran 3 EVGA 670 4gig FTW cards @ 1300 watts.
The Powersupply came with its own control face where you could spin up the fan speed from high to low if you wanted.
It also glowed red LED that matched my red LED case which was great that was part of the reason I bought it other then the awesome $60 rebate I got back.

Cons: OK about 4 months into my purchase when I turned on my Gaming PC I noticed the power supply was making a popping noise didn't really think much of it until about 6 months after my purchase one night it was running ang the PS just stopped.I pulled it out shook it and you could hear parts rattling around inside.Had a 5 year warrenty returned it didn't hear a peep for 6 weeks and policy for wait time is 7 to 10 days for a new PS. I called a few times and got through 1 time and that was to get help with the RMA before I even sent out the PS other times I called after Coolermaster had the PS I got put on the back burner with recordings. Finally got a e-mail last week saying Im getting my power supply back and I was happy which would have been fine except when I opened the package it was a 1000 watt power supply I was so mad Im going to register this one and I hope my 3 670 don't burn this one because its on them there was a reason why I got 1300 watts PS.

Other Thoughts: I will never buy a power supply from them again and this is the first and last one I will stick with what they know fans and cases . I gave at least 2 stars because I at least got something back and I would have sent this one back but battlefield 4 is coming out in 2 weeks and im afraid if I send it back I would not get anything back for several weeks. I would have liked a 1200 or 1300 watt power supply back Cooler master.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome PSU

Pros: Everything with it, is a pro.

Cons: The only cons I had, was the fan control not fitting in a standard 5.25" bay slot, and not being compatible with sliding bars, instead of the screw in.

Other Thoughts: I won this from the CM Advisory Contest back in the Spring of 2013.

3 out of 5 eggsNever worked right

Pros: Plenty of power . Ran my computer good .See cons.

Cons: Well from day one if left on auto fan would not come on and over heat and crash computer. Then the popping sound started on start up but it still powered the computer.then come the day I went to restart the computer was working fine tell then but for popping sound on start up.Guess what power supply died .Only + was it died well off and did not take any thing with it

Other Thoughts: Just got off the phone with Cool Master .They started off trying to give me a 1000 watt PS then a 1200 watt instead of a 1300 or a1500 watt one.Reason I called them they have had my PS for over a week and replacement not sent yet .Well they are suppose to email me tomorrow what the are sending a 1300 or 1500 or nothing at all.Because they do not have ether one. Could be Newegg day I told them Newegg has at least the 1300 PS .

4 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: * High voltage
* Fully modular
* Looks great
* Normal sized psu unlike the nova or any thing els that is over 1300 watts

Cons: Didn't come with the individually sleeved cables like advertised. Talked to cooler master and told me I had to order them free of charge. Decided against it because I already went threw all the work to run the new psu.

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems here

Pros: I know this device has some bad reviews but I've had no trouble with it. Running in auto mode in my main gaming rig. Provides all the power you could possibly need.

Cons: I guess reliability has been an issue. We'll see.........

1 out of 5 eggsNo individual sleeve cables

Pros: this might be a very good power supply

Cons: I as well got the power supply with no indivially sleeved cables. The one shipped to me was the older version of the Silent Pro Hybrid. I could tell just by looking at the box without even open up the box. I already issued for a replacement, hopefully they dont mess it up this time.

1 out of 5 eggsWrong cables

Pros: 1300 Watt

Cons: I expected the cables to be the same as the pictures. The 24 Pin MB connector was a standard cable, not individual sleeve that is shows in the pictures

Other Thoughts: I am sure this might be a good PSU but it is quite upsetting to order something and get something a bit different

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Power Supply !!

Pros: Lots of Wattage. Nice Fan Controller. Really Silent..despite what all the other reviews said. Beautiful design.

Cons: It says 10 year warranty for US but only showed up 5 when you register the product. I guess I have to call them to let them know since it does state it on their website.

Other Thoughts: I don't usually make reviews and I hesitated in buying this since it had mixed reviews. Because of the price I got, I figured why not if they are offering me a 10 year warranty. Glad I made the choice. Running like a champ for the past couple days.
