5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Power supply

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - 1000W Power Supply with Fully Modular Cables and 80 PLUS Gold Certification

Pros: 1000 watts of clean, stable power. Top reviews all around and the best O.E.M.'s most stable new platform. Voltage control beyond excellent, same with ripple suppression, and efficiency just south of platinum. Researched dozens of PSUs in this watt range, and none could come close to this one's performance or value. So far, so good, and my BIOS shows rock solid voltages on all rails. All cables are the good all-black flat type, except the 24-pin main, it's round and sleeved, but has all-black wires for a clean look.

Cons: The cables. They are plenty long enough to route behind the tray, even the 8-pin CPU power, but the connector count is low for a 1000 watt PSU. There's only 3 SATA power cables with 3 connectors each, and all the taps are close together at the far end. This is fine if all your drives are stacked up together in racks, but in newer cases with separate SSD racks, you may not have a SATA power cable left for your optical drive (if any). Same deal with 4-pin Molex, only 2 cables with 2 taps each (one with useless floppy connector), so even with adapters, your drive configuration may be limited. Then there's the PCIe cables. 4 of them, each with 2 x 6+2 pin at the end, which means if you want to power your 2-connector card with separate cables from the PSU, you'll have 2 extra 6+2 pins hanging off your card, plus the unneeded 2-pin wires if your card takes 2 x 6-pin. That looked ridiculous, so i settled for using just one cable to power both 6-pins. It still looks terrible with the unused 2-pins bunched up in there. Plan on buying a single-sleeved extension kit for PCIe if you want any kind of clean look for your build...

Other Thoughts: No eggs taken off for the less-than-optimal cable arrangement. All my hardware is powered up, with one Molex cable to spare, but the lighting system I ordered will soon require both of those taps.

5 out of 5 eggsthis PSU is a beast

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - 1000W Power Supply with Fully Modular Cables and 80 PLUS Gold Certification

Pros: all the power you could need and then some

Cons: none that i can think of

Other Thoughts: eehhh i was having an issue with a new setup and i couldnt figure out if the psu was putting out too much power or the motherboard was sending to much power to my usbs and my hardddrives. aparently there was an issue somewhere that i didnt find until after it killed my mouse and now my hard drives sound like they are farting when reading or transferring files. how did i fix it? i taped off all connectors that had metal showing at all to eliminate any possiblilty of a short and at the same time i unplugged the 3rd 4pin from the motherboard as that could have been a problem(eventhough that 3rd 4pin was supposed to add overclock stability i unplugged it on a whim and my hard drives stopped groaning on startup BUT its too late and the damage is done and i have to buy new drives becuase with this psu with a crosshair v formula z and that 3rd 4 pin or your mouse might suffer the same fate My cpu runs fine without the that 4pin anyway overclocked to 4.8ghz

5 out of 5 eggsLooks Awe some

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - 1000W Power Supply with Fully Modular Cables and 80 PLUS Gold Certification

Pros: Plenty of power. Very nice looking. Very neat. Quiet

Cons: Funky cable organization. But most can work around this.

Other Thoughts: Read that Johnny Gurru dudes review (shown up top as a selling point). It's heavy. Look inside and see the top notch quality. I can't see ever needing another power supply for a least a decade. Maybe never!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggs-Updated First Review-

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - 1000W Power Supply with Fully Modular Cables and 80 PLUS Gold Certification

Pros: Modular / Long power connectors / Great packaging / Sturdy / Coloring / 5 Year Warranty / Durable cables / Thick power cable / Seasonic + CoolerMaster mashup (Just like Corsair) / Quiet

Cons: Cons: On the Power supply, There is an 18 and a 10 pin that plug in together to form the 24 pin on the motherboard. It seems more of a hassle since it twists a little bit, and would have made more sense to just make a single 20+4 pin input. It does save space so that must be the reason behind it.

Other Thoughts: There is not individually sleeved cables that are orderable like Corsair's power supplies. This does not take away from my feelings for the power supply. It is by far one of the best power supplies I have seen in a while. This thing is sure quiet, Rarely will I hear it, and sometimes I have to check on it to make sure it is still spinning (it is). Do not feel afraid to strech the cable a little, they are very durable in a plastic sort of wrap. One of my favorite parts of the power supply is the connectors, there is no colors showing from the wires what so ever. These are all black cables.

1 out of 5 eggsWHERE'S MY REBATE?

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - 1000W Power Supply with Fully Modular Cables and 80 PLUS Gold Certification

Pros: Works, for now

Cons: It's been almost 4 months and I still haven't received my rebate from this company. That's the only reason I went with this over the competetion. I guess I should've bought the other. Also, this makes me wonder if this company will honor the warranty if it ever fails?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear William,

We apologize for the trouble with your rebate. Can you please contact us so that we can rectify the issue. We do honor the warranty on all of our products as long as the product is within the warranty period. The V1000 has a 5 year warrranty from the date of purchase.

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - 1000W Power Supply with Fully Modular Cables and 80 PLUS Gold Certification

Pros: Its a great fully modular gold rated PSU.
It powers my entire system and has a fantastic cable management system. The supplied wires and hardware are everything you need for a complete build.
Easy install and configuration as well.

Although it does act like a grammar na zi and has explained 4 separate times the difference between its, it's, which witch is which, and the use of pronouns in proper sentences.

Other Thoughts: Fresh install of win7 64 bit on
Asus Maximus Formula VI, i7 4771 3.9 ghz (turbo).

5 out of 5 eggsBest PSU?

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - 1000W Power Supply with Fully Modular Cables and 80 PLUS Gold Certification

Pros: Very stable, the cables are all black and look nice not overly large for being a 1000 W PSU

Cons: It was difficult to plug the cables in but not really a con since that means they won't come out accidently

Other Thoughts: My second cooler master power supply and so far I am not disappointed with their quality.
