2 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed in this product

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - Fully Modular 1000W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Silencio FP Silent 135mm fan (6th Generation Skylake Compatible)

Pros: Loved the cable setup. Only need to plug in what you need.

Cons: Bought 4/28/2015 for my band new rig. Power supply died 5/19/2016.
Started having problems with my PC not powering up occasionally after about 7 months of use. Checked all the voltages of the pins on the power supply and they came out fine. Ended up getting a new motherboard thinking that was the problem, was fine for about a month and then the problems came back. Had to keep my computer on 24/7 because it would not reliably turn on if it was shut off; but once it was on it would work fine. Then I decided to reset my computer and got stuck on shutting down so I had to manually turn off my computer. That's when the power supply died. Replaced it with another power supply I had laying around and my PC is working fine now.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Customer Service

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - Fully Modular 1000W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Silencio FP Silent 135mm fan (6th Generation Skylake Compatible)

Pros: Good while it worked.

Cons: Died after 4.5 years.
Poor customer service and RMA handling.

Other Thoughts: When my earlier PSU (RSA00-80GAD3-US) died after 4.5 years. I submitted RMA and thought of buying this (RSA00-AFBAG1-US) for another desktop that I was building. But after going through the RMA experience, I doubt if I will buy any CoolerMaster product EVER!!

It took them 2 weeks to record the receipt of defective PSU after UPS delivered the defective PSU to their warehouse.

It has been more than 4 weeks (and counting) since then, but the replacement has still not shipped.

Now I am told that the reason for delay is that they are out of stock for the replacement PSU. And that they were made aware of this delay just recently. Really? If it is out of stock, send me similar or better PSU.

I was chatting live with an agent who told me that the replacement PSU is out of stock. But after telling me that and apologizing for the delay, agent simply ended the chat.

Twice I called the toll free number to talk to someone, nobody picked up, left voice mails, nobody replied. That was 3 weeks ago.

I submitted follow-up support ticket asking for RMA status. It's been 10 days, no one has replied.

I am not counting on getting my replacement because the PSU that died is probably discontinued. And if that's the case they will never get it in stock.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY - Cooler Master is NOT honoring warranties anymore

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - Fully Modular 1000W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Silencio FP Silent 135mm fan (6th Generation Skylake Compatible)

Pros: All-black cables I guess?
Silent, but I have heard of other people experiencing coil whine.

Cons: Died after less than a year of light usage.
Would shut down my computer when powering two GTX 970s in SLI.

Other Thoughts: I have sent this power supply for RMA more than 2 and a half months ago and have yet to receive another power supply.

The forum is FILED with similar complaints of people not receiving their power supply even after 3-4 months; but you don't have to believe me, just take a look for yourself!

I will NEVER buy Cooler Master's products again, and neither should you.

3 out of 5 eggsMixed Bag

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - Fully Modular 1000W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Silencio FP Silent 135mm fan (6th Generation Skylake Compatible)

Pros: Has been solid for 2 years powering a dual GPU, overclocked i5-2500K@ 4.6GHz PC. Nice fully modular cables. Very efficient for a Gold rated PSU; Jonnyguru actually tested this power supply as having Platinum level efficiency. Quiet Fan and nice looks.

Cons: About 8 weeks ago I started having random power issues until the V1000 finally quit working. Fortunately I have another 1000 watt PSU, so it didn't cause me too much heartache (had to rewire my case). The real issue has been RMA support with Cooler Master. They received my PSU FIVE weeks ago and have yet to send a replacement. Their support forums are full of others dealing with excessively long warranty replacements.

Other Thoughts: Support from the manufacturer is very important to me and should be to everyone working with technology. Even though I have been a Cooler Master fan for many years(cases and cooling devices), this will most likely be my last purchase from them. Very disappointed.

1 out of 5 eggsCooler Master V1000 Power Supply

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - Fully Modular 1000W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Silencio FP Silent 135mm fan (6th Generation Skylake Compatible)

Pros: DOA: Did not work right out os the box. I had already sent my UPC in for the rebate and had to return it to Cooler Master at a cost of $23.23 shipping. Shipped on Apr. 4, they recieved it on Apr. 14. I called on Apr. 14 and was told it would take a week before they would ship a new one. Had to use my old power supply.

Cons: So far lousy customer service.

Other Thoughts: For a company wants to sell it's products to people, I would think they would be more supportive and try to quickly get their poduct back to the customer.

Manufacturer Response:

Good Morning Valued Customer,

I apologize for the inconvenience and appreicate your patience as we truly value your patronage as we source a replacement for you. We had experienced a logistics delay in the west coast that held up our products and are working diligently to ensure they reach you. With that said feel free to contact us directly through our CM Fanzone via Live Chat, Support Ticket, or Phones and we will work with you on a replacement.

I look forward to your response.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks good, but may be not such a good buy.

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - Fully Modular 1000W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Silencio FP Silent 135mm fan (6th Generation Skylake Compatible)

Pros: Looks good, well labeled, cables are long, is quiet

Cons: Failed after two weeks of use. Poor Cooler Master RMA process, poor customer service.

Other Thoughts: Since it was outside the 30 day Newegg RMA window had to RMA to Cooler Master in California. Sent it to them, they received it 24 Feb, did not post receipt till 5 march (after I sent an email about it) and that is it, no notice if they will ship a new one, the original or that they are even working it.

Because of the quick failure of the unit and the poor RMA experience, I would not buy another Cooler Master power supply if they payed me.

Manufacturer Response:

Good Afternoon Valued Customer,

I apologize your power supply is not working correctly as you can apply for an RMA Request through our CM Fanzone along with your purchase invoice and serial number at the following links below.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst PSU, Avoid !

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - Fully Modular 1000W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Silencio FP Silent 135mm fan (6th Generation Skylake Compatible)

Pros: If it works your lucky, mine died in less than a year with barely any usage at all. Was traveling most of the time, all of a sudden when I was playing tombraider it just made an extremely loud grinding noise and basically blew up. I realised that the psu is the most important part in your system and from the reviews here you see that CM has alot of reliability issues with their psu's.

Cons: Extremely unreliable, showed signs of failure only few months after purchase.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - Fully Modular 1000W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Silencio FP Silent 135mm fan (6th Generation Skylake Compatible)

Pros: Whisper quiet, great power, amazing support.

Cons: I wish this level of quality was less expensive, but it's certainly worth it.

Other Thoughts: I got a second video card for SLI and discovered that I lost my extra PCI-E cables. Contacted Cooler Master and they sent me out a new one for free. Amazing customer support :)

1 out of 5 eggsTerribe

This review is from: Cooler Master V1000 - Fully Modular 1000W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Silencio FP Silent 135mm fan (6th Generation Skylake Compatible)

Pros: None

Cons: 1st unit - DOA
2nd unit - Intermittent power reboots.

Manufacturer Response:

Good Afternoon Justin,

I apologize your V1000 is not working correctly for you as this is truly an odd occurrence as you purchased one of our premium power supplies. Did you make sure the 24 Pin ATX is connected to the motherboard and the opposite end of the 10 Pin and 18 Pin is connected to the power supply? Contact us through our CM Fanzone for further assistance and an RMA Request at the links below.

I look forward to your response.
