4 out of 5 eggsV850 PSU Review

Pros: I have had this power supply for about a year or so, and it has been a very solid modular power supply. It has a good power efficiently curve, and I am slightly surprised that it is not certified platinum but I doubt it really matters in the long run. It runs quiet, cool and efficient and I have had no problems with it thus far.

Cons: The only thing I would complain about is something another reviewer mentioned. Why this power supply has two 8pin CPU supplemental power connectors my model only came with one supplemental 8pin CPU connector. Not a deal breaker for me but it is kind of strange that it would come with two connectors but only one cable.

Other Thoughts: A bit expensive when it is not on sale, but it is a very solid power supply none the less.

1 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed in CoolerMaster

Pros: Fully modular as advertised. Worked great until it died.

Cons: I would have given the product 2-3 stars but the RMA experience is so terrible 1 was more than CoolerMaster deserves.

Died after 5 months of light use. RMA process was horrible. Not one single response from CoolerMaster so I had to reach out for Live help after 2 weeks of nothing.

Response from CoolerMaster on delay was first they updated their web site and a few RMAs got delayed.
" I apologize for the delay. Currently, the warehouse is in an inventory count which has delayed quite a few RMAs. I see that you have spoken with XXXXX and he has updated the RMA with your tracking number. At this point and time, I can only let you know that we will be shipping this out next week.

I see your request has fallen to the same victom.

I apologize for the inconvenience"

I then asked that my PS be overnighted to me (once they find/fix it) and I get

Let me see what I can do. Please hold on.

Currently my supervisor is in a meeting. I will follow up with him about this situation. May I please email you back by email as I do not know how long he will be.

Other Thoughts: I wish their customer service agents would be truthful and set the correct expectations upfront. "I am absolutely helpless to assist you, I really have no idea what you are talking about and I am only here to provide excuses."

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Anthony,

Again, I apologize for all the trouble you experienced with your RMA. I hope my phone call today helped provide a more positive experience with Cooler Master. We do take these reviews very seriously so please call me directly if you need any more assistance.

5 out of 5 eggsJust too glad.

Pros: This does everything I need it to do.

Cons: None at this time!

Other Thoughts: When I moved I had lost the extra cables for it - I am still unable to locate where to replace the parts - Same with the CM HAF 932 Advanced case I had got at the same time.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply

Pros: One word for this power supply: AWESOME.

1. It's a SeaSonic power supply inside. CoolerMaster did it right with SeaSonic power supply parts. I get steady, reliable power (going on 8 months of use).

2. Power power power! - It's 850W which is enough to power my two GTX-760s in SLI and I do a moderate overclock on my i5 3570K to 4.3 Ghz with connectors and power to spare.

3. The Cables and Connectors: I chose this power supply because on the power supply itself, it has THREE slots for PCI Express power. Most other Cooler Master power supplies with similar wattage had TWO. Not to mention, there are TWO 8-pin PCIe power ports per header, so you get a total of 6 connectors for graphics cards. Granted, I don't think powering 3 top-end nVidia or AMD cards (R9290X and GTX 780 Ti at the time of writing) will actually work.

- The power cables are nice and flat (except for the 24-pin which is sleeved) but it makes it INCREDIBLY easy for cable management and this power supply is fully modular.

4. NewEgg Deals: I got this power supply on Shell Shocker months ago when it was first released for $139.99.

5 - Kinda not as important for me, but it's SILENT. I run the computer under load and the power supply barely makes a whisper (or it's being drowned out by my graphics card fans)

Cons: I had to wait months for my $30 MIR (I usually don't bother with MIRs of $20 or less). As most of the computer companies use ONE rebate company it seems, it kinda sucks.

Other Thoughts: Get a tower with good cable management options (like my HAF 912) and you will be EXTREMELY happy with this power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Power Supply

Pros: Modular, All cables are black, Most cables come together flat.

Cons: to many Molex connections. Wish there was less molex and more sata.

The power supply has a 20+4 pin going to the motherboard but to the power supply its a 10+14 or something. its just a pain when custom sleeving and find uv connections.

Other Thoughts: Have software to see the wattage and temps would be nice.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: Great PSU. Great cable quality. All the necessary cables you could need. Easy to set up if you know what each cable is for.

Cons: Directions weren't completely clear on which cable was for what.

Other Thoughts: Used this for my first build, and I am really happy that I did.

2 out of 5 eggsWARNING only 1 CPU 8 pin cable!

Pros: Looks great. Really likes the cables. Except for the one they were too cheap to include...

Cons: Even though the description says it supports 2 CPUs, each with 8pin ATX. It only ships with ONE 8pin CPU cable. And these things aren't easy to find (impossible actually). After seeing all the reviews about failing PSUs I just went ahead and returned it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. The unit is supposed to come with 2 cables. If there is 1 missing, we can provide it free of charge. Would you be able to contact us so we can get the cable shipped to you?

4 out of 5 eggs:P

Pros: Buy the pro version. This is 50 bucks less than the pro version. The pro version comes with 802.11ac dual band receiver. I bought a wifi receiver for 50 bucks... If you are using Ethernet, buy this, if not, buy the pro.

Cons: No upper heatsink, 2 way sli

Other Thoughts: It works. XD
