5 out of 5 eggsPerfect!!!

Pros: As soon as you open the box, you know you made the right choice. It's high quality all the way around. From the feel of the unit itself, to the high quality, logoed, drawstring bag. I chose Cooler Master again for my new build, because the 430W unit in my old one is still kicking without a hiccup in 11 years. The v700 is absolutely beautiful too. Looks very sexy in my Thermaltake Chaser MK1 case. Yes the cables are a little stiff, but they are new, so what do you expect? I have no doubt this will keep my rig juiced for the next 10 years.

Cons: There are no cons with this unit. Even if it were free, I'd have insisted on paying for it.

Other Thoughts: Cooler Master is a very trustworthy brand, if you don't already know.

5 out of 5 eggsVery High Quality PSU.

Pros: Obvious quality. From the minute you open the box, you know you made a good choice. I chose Cooler Master because the 430W that I've had fully loaded for 10 years now is still running like new. The v700 is a very high quality product. I've only had it for a week, but I have no doubt its a killer. Comes in a nice logoed drawstring bag. Cables come in a nice bag too. Yes the cables are a little stiff, but they're new, so what do you expect. Plenty of PCIE power, and two legacy power cables too (loosen the plug sleeves with a small screwdriver for easier insertion). You really cant go wrong with this one.

Cons: There are no cons.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Cooler Master Product

Pros: Very high quality build, based off of the Seasonic KM3 platform which is high quality delivering great power at an amazing efficiency. The V700s fully modular capabilities made it easier to install cables and use the ones I only needed. The 135MM fan is quiet and keeps my PSU cool, I can't hear it over my graphics card and since I don't need to worry about when the fan has to kick in due to it's low, but constant RPM, my mind is at ease. 80+ Gold, got it at a great deal, highly recommend you get this power supply if you are having second thoughts about other PSU products.

Cons: As other reviewers have mentioned, cables are stiff and take a bit of strength to put them into the correct position, but then again you'll see this on many modular psu's and I believe it's because the cables were in an environment that caused them to be that stiff.

Other Thoughts: Cooler Master has yet again delivered a high quality product and kept me satisfied! Keep it up Cooler Master!

5 out of 5 eggsQuality from Cooler Master

Pros: Efficient: Based on the Seasonic KM3 platform, this unit hits Platinum efficiency (based on load).

High-quality fan: Fluid-dynamic Protechnic fan. It's quiet, and hopefully should last a really long time.

Price: Cheapest, best value Seasonic KM3 platform. I paid $89.99 after rebate, this unit has been as low as $69.99 before.

Quiet: Simply put, it's the quietest component in my case, the fan doesn't even spin-up under load (About 350W peak in my rig). There is a typical electronic buzzing noise that all PSU's make, it's audible about ~3 inches away from the unit. Inside my case, plus at normal operating distance, it's silent.

Cons: No hybrid mode: The fan will always spin, lack of heatsinks inside the unit. Fortunately it's quiet, so a non-issue for most people.

Cords are short/stiff: Even the power cable to the wall is shorter than my other PSU's. All of the ribbon cables are shorter than what I've used in the past. They're also incredibly stiff which makes bending or twisting them very difficult.

Size: Larger than other units in its category. Probably a good thing, I would assume.

Other Thoughts: I decided to buy this unit opposed to other KM3 units (Corsair AX series) because of the coil whine issue on the others. The V700 uses a "simplified" KM3 platform and there have been ZERO reports of coil whine so far, plus I saved about $30. So it seemed like a no-brainer!

It's slightly larger than other similar units, with a 135mm fan. My case only supports a standard-size 120mm PSU, so I have to run the unit upside-down to fit it.

Cooler Master has an online rebate form, hopefully that will take care of the rebate issues other people have reported.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick & Easy!

Pros: Amazingly fast shipping
Not a single dent in the box
Got it on sale for really cheap
Has great airflow
Addition of lights are cool, but not necessary

Cons: Haven't got any

Other Thoughts: I haven't finished my build yet, so this review is mostly speculation. I'll edit it when I finish.

3 out of 5 eggsGood PSU, But Don't Trust MIR

Pros: Very good PSU, with full modular set up.
Best ascetics I have seen in a while

Other Thoughts: Bought this PSU because it had a $40 MIR, supposedly. Sent it in to the rebate address and still haven't heard anything. Cooler Master shares the same rebate processing center as N.E., which is like 7 miles from my house. The ones I sent to ASUS which is in El Paso Texas, got approved already so buyer beware of any rebates that go through The Egg or Cooler Master.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Kevin,

We apologize for the troube with your rebate. Can you please contact us so that we can get this issue corrected.

5 out of 5 eggsThick. Solid. Tight.

Pros: + Ultra Quiet
+ Seasonic based
+ Sleek design
+ Black cables
+ Excellent packaging

Cons: - Stiff and flimsy cables
- Cable length
- Price

Other Thoughts: This is a solid PSU so far although it was a hassle doing cable management, considering it is fully modular. Only time will tell if this unit will last (2-way CF, OC'ed FX-6300, 5 case fans, etc.). Jumped on a good deal on BF - otherwise at its current price point, I wouldn't even consider it.

1 out of 5 eggsPop!

Pros: Looks cool and it's modular.

Cons: After installing the computer wouldn't boot up. Turns out one of the S-ATA ports was not working.

I figured no big deal as I didn't need them all. Booted up and proceeded to work in Photoshop. The supply lasted 20 minutes before it died with a loud pop.

Other Thoughts: Cooler Master has always had a good reputation. Not sure what's up with this series but some certainly do have some problems. Maybe cheap caps? Dunno

Manufacturer Response:

Hey there Downhill,
I'm sorry for the troubles with your V700. It's definitely not a normal thing for the V-series PSUs to pop and not work like that. I personally have a V850 in my own system that's been smooth as silk since I put it in :)

Since we have a 5 year warranty on the PSU, you can take full advantage of that by requesting an RMA at the eRMA link I'm providing below. We'd definitely like to get your unit back to see if we can determine what happened to the unit and get you a working replacement, if you haven't done so already.

If you have any other questions or concerns, come talk to us in Live Chat or submit a ticket in the Contact Us link I'm providing below as well.
