Pros: Pretty solid construction from what I can tell. Definitely not flimsy! I've got a 1TB Samsung HD in there currently until I use it for a build, and it holds/protects it just fine. The integrated fan is really nice to have. The matte finish is clean and everything looks nice, including the blue LEDs.

Getting the drive in there was no problem. Nothing got in the way or had to be moved. I think I had to brush a little bit of one wire to the side, but nothing major.

Cons: I wish the included USB cable was a bit longer, but that's not really a big deal. I don't have the thing sitting across the room. Also, you have to go through 4 screws to take the big side panel off, then 2 more for the narrow side panels, and another 2 (there are 4 holes to mount the HD, but I only used 2 because I'm lazy and it was hard to even get those lined up) for the HD itself. So 8 screws in total for the whole process. I don't open and close it a lot, so it's not the end of the world, but still, it's no fun haha.

Other Thoughts: overall, really great design. looks sharp, feels solid, and makes cool noises when you turn it on!

Pros: works like its should a bit loud nothing to bad.

Cons: Rosewill the best china has to offer (really one of the best computer bands in china)

Other Thoughts: hard drive was a snug fit.

Pros: Ventilated, Sleek, easy to install.

Cons: Would be nice if it had some shock protection... But I don't know of many external enclosures that provide that. Its scary mounting my 2tb drive in there...

Pros: When the fan is switched on, my drive (WD Green 1 TB) runs near room temperature consistently. The fan runs at a nice, low RPM so noise is acceptable. Construction is VERY solid and high quality. In fact, this is the highest quality hard disk enclosure I've ever used. Supports both USB and eSATA.

Cons: Not really a con since this device was designed for a wider range of environment temperatures, but I wish I could lower the RPM of the fan to a trickle, since that would be enough to keep my drive cool in it's normal environment (65-80 degrees F). I may just add a resistor to do this, to make it near silent.

Other Thoughts: I needed an enclosure that provided a LITTLE bit more than passive air cooling, since my previous enclosure reached temperatures that came within a degree or 2 of the rated maximum for the drive. The switchable fan on this enclosure was perfect for this task. I'm glad Rosewill did not succumb to peer pressure and put an obnoxious fan in this device. Even the fastest hard drive only uses 15 watts of power when stressed (after spin up of course), so an 8000 RPM fan would be a complete, noisy waste.

Pros: Esata and usb I use this enclosure for a dedicated drive that I record TV programs using a TV tuner card... USB 2.0 is plenty fast enough for recording and playing from the drive, leaving my available Esata port for something else.

Cons: The first unit I received was missing the screws etc needed, Newegg promptly replaced and refunded the shipping back. The 2nd unit I received had a broken fin on the fan, emailed Rosewill and they sent me a replacement free of charge. While replacing the fan I realized there is a plug that you can unplug and totally remove the annoying led's. Firstoff they are BRIGHT, 2nd the activity led blinking out of the corner of my eye... I was affraid was gonna give me a headache, since I'm sensitive to blinking lights... So removing them solved that problem.

Other Thoughts: Don't run this unit without the fan, as I did for a little while, waiting for the replacement fan from Rosewill. The drive I have, a WD640, got VERY hot, almost too hot to the touch. After replacing the broken fan... it keeps it nice and cool.

Pros: Easy to install. Comes with all the cables. The fan keeps the drive cool, which is vital for a drive to survive. I turned off the fan and the casing starts to get warm real quick. The fan helps tremendously.

Cons: The LED of my silver one is off sometimes for reason that I don't understand. Oh well.

Other Thoughts: This is my second one. First one is the silver color. Both are good. If you want a replacement fan, you can purchase one somewhere else. The fan size is 80x80x10mm and requires a two pin connection. But fan rarely goes bad.

Pros: Active cooling works great. Keeps the drive cold. Transfer rates were exceptional.

Pros: Purchased for use with Western Digital Caviar Green WD15EARS 1.5TB to replace my old WD 750GB MyBook. I've yet to see a noticeable differences in speeds with eSATA versus the USB interface. Runs cool and the aluminum case is a lot nicer than the cheap plastic ones on the MyBooks.

Cons: Though having the fan is nice, it is kind of loud. It is still quieter than my desktop, though.

Other Thoughts: None at this time

Pros: Keeps the HD cool, switch for both fan and HD, Love e-sata.

Cons: Yep, needs rubber feet, but they are cheap.

Pros: Includes all of the cables and good instructions
Fan is relatively quiet with on/off switch

Cons: The pulsing lights are a bit annoying, no way to turn them off

Other Thoughts: Good case, metal construction sucks heat away
