5 out of 5 eggsPower when I need it

This review is from: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Does what it is supposed to. Lots of cables for powering up all of your devices. Lights up at point of cable connection and has an off and selector switch for the light at fan on unit.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice to have a notch or arrow on the outside of power cable connection housings to hook up in tight cases quickly.

3 out of 5 eggsPSU

This review is from: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: It has many modular connections, It has more than enough power to facilitate my needs for my build.

Cons: I will test it and update my review after my test. I give it three eggs for now until I can test it, The three eggs are for its aesthetics.

Other Thoughts: Looks impressive, I can't wait to test it. I have ordered most of my parts for the X-99 Build I am doing.

5 out of 5 eggsStill working strong

This review is from: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Been running a continuous 850 watts to my rig, It may be a bit overkill due to the fact that I cancelled my other 290x for Xfire. I purchased my unit back in 2012, basically I was gather parts for a upcoming build I was going to start with the new GPUs that were coming out in 2013 and was also to replace my burned out 650 Watt PSU.

Cons: None so far other than the lights that i'm unable to turn off from each of the modular cables. (Put electrical tape on them due to the light given off was multi-colored.

Other Thoughts: Wonderful unit, would buy again, I know the reviews here are hit or miss.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill LIGHTNING-1300 watt psu

This review is from: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: no failure on my kids machine yet. she has a i5 4690k processor with a 290x vid card all on a mild overclock. lasted around nine months and counting

Cons: none, maybe have a way to light plug sockets without having to plug in cords

Other Thoughts: I may tear down more miners and use dual 290x on this psu. I will put it on my machine with a 4790k three hdds. and of course will overclock everything just so I can say its "overclocked" . btw overclocking easy on the asus z97 with a flip of the switches.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great For Me!

This review is from: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Really can't complain, I now own 3 of these units in 3 computer builds. The first two power supplies I bought back in early 2013 to try them out, as I really liked all of the lighting they provide; all three still work great to this day. It's the only supply I found so far that lights all up, just what I was looking for! I intend to buy another Rosewill Lightning 1300 later this year for another computer build. Each power supply gives you all the cables you need and more in nice looking zip up cases with zip ties and hardware.

Cons: None really. Not sure why the negative reviews come up, unless there's a bad batch of power supplies, or some are DOA because the switch is turned off or the power cord isn't all the way inserted.

Other Thoughts: I don't use all of the ports the power supply gives you, I use as few as possible to keep the load and stress down. Plus I make sure it gets plenty of air to vent out the heat. In winter, these heat up the computer room nice and toasty with the door closed, no need to run the furnace. Also, when I am not using the computer for a week, I try to either unplug or switch off the power supply. I have had many people in the computer world tell me that's the best way to make a power supply last a long time.

1 out of 5 eggsDANGER! Danger Will Robinson! DANGER!

This review is from: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Looks awesome, lots of cables.

Cons: First one died early one morning while system wad idle. Rosewill was quick to replace the defective unit stating that its a common problem.. They sent the same model that blew out. i installed it figuring they would have fixed the issue being as it was "a common problem".. I was wrong. Lesd than a month into using this second PSU I was again awaken to a loud pop one morning and once again found my new computer dead.

Other Thoughts: Will stick to just cases from Rosewill from now on. I will never recommend a psu by Rosewill. I will however strongly discurage anyone from even looking at them.

2 out of 5 eggsJust Died Today :(

This review is from: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Bought it on 11/29/13, Worked like a dream for a little over a year! Happy it did last longer than a year though.

Cons: Just died today on 1/17/15. Tried swapping it out on my backup computer that i have that works just fine with an old PSU, and it did the same thing that it was doing in my computer, lights would come on for a split second then go out. I had high hopes that it would last a lot longer than a year and almost 2 months. Can't have everything perfect i guess.

Other Thoughts: I just used the PSU from my backup computer and my comp is running normally now. Guess I'll have to give EVGA a go, been seeing some stellar reviews on a lot of their products.

Cons: None.. and that's a first.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid build

This review is from: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply - Continuous @ 122 Degrees F (50C), 80 PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS 12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: An absolute powerhouse. Turning on my machine makes me feel like a mad scientist as all the lights in my room flicker once. The modular cables really helped clean up my PC. It comes with a nice carrying case to store all the unused cables (Its the small things, you know?).

Cons: Not fully modular as the 12 pin connector bundle is integrated in. My build needs all those cables so I was unaffected.
