3 out of 5 eggs2nd review

Pros: good. solid power with hd 6850 crossfire

Cons: so i upgraded my graphics to a 280x vapor tri-x 3bg card and it seems its too much for the 850 w psu i keep getting kernal-power 41 criticals in event viewer causing hard crashes in games and sometimes youtube. had issues with drivers on card for some games but never repeated hard crashes. i even lowered voltage a tad on the card to decrease pull. it seem to reduce the crashes a little but not much.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 850 watts. 80+ bronze.

Cons: Not a con but this thing is HEAVY compared to other power supplies I've owned. The blue light is also a weird shade of blue almost like an aqua blue or slight turquoise color, also it's not the brightest either.

2 out of 5 eggsDead after 2 years

Pros: It was a solid PSU while it worked. Ran cool and quiet.

Cons: Died after two years.

Other Thoughts: This is my second Rosewill PSU to have died after only a couple of years. I do not recommend this brand.

This PSU ran fine while I was using a HD7870. It should be fine for last generation gaming rigs. However, I just bought a new GTX970 and the PSU died the same day due to the 970 pulling more amps than the 7870.

I recommend purchasing a different PSU if you plan on running any high-end hardware.

1 out of 5 eggs"Power Surges" Since GTX 980 installed

Pros: Worked great for quite a while with my GTX 680 installed! Didn't have any complaints.

Cons: Upgraded to the GTX 980 which has a recommended 500W PSU. Know my rig would need some more so I grabbed this 850W which should be plenty. Now my computer keeps shutting down due to "Power Surges". Handles the GTX 680 fine which has a 550W recommendation.

Other Thoughts: Might work fine with some computers. Just be careful, upgrading parts might make the difference between working and not working. It's up to you to roll the dice! I submitted an RMA. We'll see how things go with this faulty model. Still unsure if I will purchase Rosewill again. I'll update my review when the process is completed

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power, cool running, great price

Pros: Cool running, great power for price, I purchased 5 for projects I am doing.

Cons: none.
I see people complain that they have all the cables attached.....you know that already.
Having said that if you are looking to do a pretty see through case to show off your build this type of power supply will leave cables hanging all over.

Other Thoughts: I have used Rosewill power supplies a lot and just do not have problems with them and if you have a constant power demand then not having removable cables is a plus because each connection is resistance and with each connection comes more work and with each connection you have a chance of failure or connection needing reset due to ionization and having removed that element your build is stronger.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Stable power supply. certified even if it's only bronze. have two cross fire HD 6850s overclocked, X4 860k overclocked to 4.2.
nice sleeved cords, blue led light which doesn't matter unless your case is on a shelf for some under glow. most cases mount the psu to have it's own airflow ( this is good)

Cons: only thing i can say is heat shrink on the 24 pin-power connecter doesn't cover enough, but most people won't care about that

Other Thoughts: saw someone review this and mention flipping the psu upside down to get the blue led to show in their case this would be bad for two reasons; you've now increased the heat in your pc greatly, and you've dramatically shorted the life of the psu by allowing dust to get sucked in.

4 out of 5 eggsdesign something for me why dont you

Pros: Works fine fast delivery.

Cons: AVOID THIS POWER SUPPLY IF YOUR CASE IS FLIPPED OR REVERSED...

i flip my pc case upside down so gpu fan faces up. (looks hella better)

the connector are intended for the top down style setup. had to twist cables to get all sata connectors facing right way. besides that it worked out fine. so no 5 eggs..

Other Thoughts: I really hate the design of most case's i really like the gpu to face up... nothing worse than a nice en'tight card facing down so cant see all the splendor

1 out of 5 eggsNot very good at handling powerful GPUs

Pros: It can handle crossfired 7870s, overclocked FX 8350, SSDs, and a bunch of 120mm fans.

Cons: When I replaced my 7870s with a single GTX 980, does a hard shutdown of my PC when I run graphically intensive games.(I have to switch the psu on and off to be able to turn back on my pc) Because it thinks there is a power surge. Already tried reinstalling/cleaning drivers. Brought my FX 8350 back to default clocks, tested all the rams, and tried replugging in all the wires. NopeNopeNope. Wouldn't buy this again.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked great for a year

Pros: Worked wonderfully for the past year that I've had it.

Cons: Unfortunately, It's already starting to fail just a little over a year later.

Other Thoughts: This PCU worked great in the time that I've had it and under all the heavy use that it's been put through. But here it is about 14 months after the initial purchase and it's already showing signs of failing.
