4 out of 5 eggsSo far so great!

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Great build quality!
Single 12 volt rail!
Almost completely modular! Only has the main 24 pin and two 8 pin CPU motherboard cables hard wired directly into the power supply.
62 AMPs for duel SLI or Cross-Fire support for most cards!
Fantastic separate cables that fit really tight and don't crack easily!
5 year warranty :)
All the modular cables are of good quality and good length.
Gold rated at a price point for Bronze rated and non-modular power supply!

I personally think Rosewill has come a long way in it's product lines quality control and this Gold rated Power Supply looks to be proof of this!

Cons: Not sure about longevity as of yet!

I will say I was using a 700 watt mutable rail value series Rosewill that I bought for only $30 that was running my full server tower/gaming rig without any issues.

Other Thoughts: I think Rosewill gets a bad rap for it's power supplies and deserves a better following.

I'm quite sure that if they can produce P.S. of this quality with a 5 year warranty they will receive many more followers.

I never thought I would ever buy a Rosewill Power Supply simply do to the name.

I had a Corsair 750 watt (Non-Modular) Bronze that this replaced and everything about this Capstone seems better!

Of course only time will tell but at this great price point you can't find a better "Gold" rated P.S. from any other competitor!

I was able to buy this for $70 with a combo rebate and sale price. It's one heck of a deal for this modular based 12 v single rail P.S.U. that's well built and should hold up.

Note: I was running a $30 Rosewill multi rail 700 watt cheapo and didn't have a single issue with it filling in for the Corsair that possibly killed my old board, video card and a stick of ram!

Running such a cheap power supply was temporary until I bought a replacement of had my Corsair returned from RMA.

I decided to buy this unit instead based on it's great numbers and almost fully modular design that's really great!

No more attempting to hide all those extra cables, which was always messy!

Now that I have set this power supply up I'm very impressed with it's style, performance, and quality!

You will never be able to buy a name brand modular P.S. rated at 750 watts at anywhere near this price point!

So for now this thing rocks and is super efficient with its' Gold rating! I'll let about 8 months pass and update this review.

However, I have a good feeling about this P.S. really holding up and lasting a very long time!

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill Capstone 750

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: good PSU.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: I bought this PSU because i plan to upgrade my build sometime but right now it is a bit overkill because i'm only using an am1 socketed CPU. I decided to get this PSU because i wanted a gold rated PSU at a good price. It would be nice if it were modular but that costs more. All the cables were plenty long to connect everything in my mid ATX case

5 out of 5 eggsStill functional after 2-1/2 years

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Should you scroll down on the reviews for this Rosewill power supply you will see I originally posted my initial review in January 2012. Some 2-1/2 years have elapsed and this power supply is still performing flawlessly (hope I don't jinx it by updating this review) powering my son's Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard. Either I am one real lucky purchaser who just happened to get a cherry picked supply or Rosewill has some decent quality controls put in place. Whatever reason there is, I just had to post this update having just blown out all the dust bunnies from the case when I took note of the date of purchase I scribbled on the supply itself. Fan still turns extremely quietly even with all the dust/dust bunnies hanging off the fan blades and shroud. Cost per year for me now averages to roughly $30 on this particular power supply which is unheard of especially with my past luck.

Cons: I took note of other postings on this product and see it's still the "luck of the draw". Suggestion for others is....blow out your cases a minimum of twice a year (Fall season before winter and Spring time before hot summers is perfect for me) with a good air compressor honing in on the cpu cooler, video card fan, but more importantly the power supply. You will be amazed at the cloud of dust you create even in a well cleaned house.

Other Thoughts: Power draw on processors, power supplies, and video cards are continually going up each year and heat is one of the primary factors why components fail. A good indicator when you need a good cleaning is when you start getting BSOD's on a otherwise stable o/c'd pc workstation where you factually know is optimized and stable. I've seen pc's where dust bunnies have literally clogged up all ventilation openings even to the point where they have prevented fans from turning and yet the workstation still performs. It's doesn't make it right however it goes to show parts manufacturers design properly even when consumers neglect/abuse or worse case fail to perform basic preventative measures thereby shortening the serviceable life on their pc parts.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill Capstone

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It's been running and AMD FX 8350 and a GTX 780 Ti for 6 months with no problems. Included peripherals are 16GB of G.Skill RAM, Corsair H90 water cooler, Gigabyte UD3 990FX mobo, 128GB SSD, 1TB WD Black, some case fans, and a few LEDs.

It's a Gold Rated, 80+ efficiency power supply. See other thoughts. This is good, but not the best.

It's simple looking, and I like that.

Never had a stutter or a power problem, all clocks on RAM, CPU and GPU are stable. I know that the motherboard is also responsible for this, but do is the power supply.

Has enough 8 Pins to power SLI and Crossfire rigs. A few of the cords are meh-level on length, but it's manageable if you don't have the biggest case on the market. Be aware of that though... Can't complain though. I'm doing just fine in a Corsair Vengeance C70 case, I'm just giving a heads up. Extensions may be needed for others.

It's quiet, quieter than my old Corsair 750W that went out on me. It lasted for a month... Maybe that was just a bad PSU, my 'Dead after Minor Use' part had finally arrived after building four computers.

Cons: Cable length could be a problem for some. Beware..

Also, something with the pros I listed. 80+ Gold Rated doesn't mean it'll run at 750W. This is why some people buy the 800+W power supplies for rigs such as mine, but I'm not worried at all. It's fine to go overkill, so long as it's not too much. Too much and you have a good chunk of mo

5 out of 5 eggsGreat psu

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: A really good and reliable psu. Has not givin me any problems YET. Comes with plenty of cords and just everything you would need.

80+ gold

Cons: I have all the cords I need...and don't need. It's not modular at all so I feel that the inside of my case is a little cluttered but if you can work with non modulars, definitely go for it! Not enough to take off an egg before I knew before I bought :pp

Other Thoughts: I run an fx-6300 and a r9 290 with one HDD, and two fans.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after 3 months

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Worked without a problem for 3 months

Cons: Died after 3 months

Other Thoughts: With the skeleton crew my current build is running it shouldn't even be pushing 500W. So I'm confident I didn't overwork this power block.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill CAPSTONE 750

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: So far no issues. Easy to install and lots of power cables.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have a new mid case with the p/s mount in the bottom. The fan is also exhausted to the bottom of the case. My floor is carpeted. Essentially with the case sitting on the floor the carpet blocks the fans ability to circulate air, which could cause overheating and premature failure. I purchased a couple of cheap tiles to sit the case on to alleviate this. The manual has no mention of this. A definite oversight.

Pros: Fan is Fantastic. Can barely hear it. Delivers great output.
