2 out of 5 eggsworks...until it doesn't

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Worked well and provided plenty of power for my gaming rig.

Cons: Then, 4 months later my PC started having trouble booting. 1 week into that it stopped booting altogether. Went back to my trusty Antec.

Other Thoughts: Bought this because of a $20 rebate. 1 week after I got the rebate check, it dies and I need to spend $20.43 to USPS it back to Newegg for RMA. Not a positive experience for Rosewill.

4 out of 5 eggsgood for the price

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: 80 plus gold
cheap
quiet fan

Cons: horrible for cable management
not modular
all aux power cables (gpu, chipset, ATX, etc) are split

Other Thoughts: The worst part of this PSU is the split in all the aux power cables (for example, the gpu). It makes it compatible with old and new hardware, but getting those two cables to align is a pain.
The cables for GPU power are horrible to plug in and manage. They could be longer and the worst part is they're arranged backwards (so you lose some length getting it to plug in correctly)

It's been 2 months and I still don't have my rebate though. Everything else about it seems good though.

2 out of 5 eggsNice and Relyable

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: long cables, more than enough connectors, 80plus gold. 7 year warranty, meshed, love the look and feel of it

Cons: not modular and thus required a bit of cable management due to my case.

Other Thoughts: I would Definitely recommend this to others.

5 out of 5 eggs15 months strong

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Cheap and 80 plus gold. I have had this powering my system for about 15 months now with no problems. It is quiet too.

Cons: Not modular.

Other Thoughts: Ignore the DoA spam posts. All electronics pose a risk of being DoA, which is why RMA exists to get you one that is working as intended. This PSU is very good for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsOk, it's Superflower, NON-Mod

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It's a Superflower. and a good one at that.

Read the reviews (not here, search the 'net for lab reviews).

For the price it's tough to match the deal. Nearly silent.

Cons: It's not modular, but I saved the $10 because of that. They have a modular version that's the same unit otherwise.

Other Thoughts: The reviews of this unit are fantastic. Not all Rosewill units are great, but these Superflower units are seriously good equipment.

I opted against moduler because I know I'd loose the cables in some box in the very back of a closet, and just when I need one I won't be able to find it.

If it ain't attached, I'm going to loose it.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst experience of my pc building career.

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: might have been good if it worked.

Cons: Piece of junk did not work when i got it. It powered up on the third try, and then from there on it was a nightmare trying to figure out why my monitor was not receiving any signal. i had swapped in and out 3 different graphics cards, re-slotted the cables 5x , tried tons of variants and then i finally put back my old power supply and guess what ? my video came back, BUT from all the tries my windows operating system was damaged and i dont the system recovery cant fix the issue, and i dont have any recovery cd's.
This piece of junk made me lose my day off, obliterated my nerves, and then killed my new computer.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend this junk to anyone, these dolts need to learn to test their products before they ship them out. end of discussion. i should have to gamble weather a new item i bought will work or not.

5 out of 5 eggsWow 750w GOLD for 40 bucks!

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This PSU is the highest quality power supply i have ever held in my hands. It feels incredibly hefty and its quire heavy as well so you know its not cheap. Just looking inside you can see the PCB is super thick. You can tell rosewill went with high quality components for this PSU.

It's dead silent. I literally can't even hear the fan even when i disable all my other fans. And the fan is HUGE! This is the best power supply i've ever owned.

My video card reccomended a 750 watt psu. But since i was a total rebel i was using only a 630 watt for about a month before i upgraded to this. When i upgraded to this my 3Dmark benchmark improved by 8%.. Is that even possible? Awesome!

And its hard to describe but the texture of the finish itself is smooth but rough at the same time. It's hard to explain but it just feels so amazing and superior to all other psu's.

At my job i build hundreds of computers each year and i find that 90% of the time the power supplies that always fail are the ones that are light as a feather. This one is super hefty. I have a good feeling about this PSU.

Cons: Makes kind of an unexplainable noise for a fraction of a second when i power on my computer. It's hard to describe but if i had to describe it i would say something like a power burst? It's definitely odd. I hope its nothing serious.
