5 out of 5 eggsHave used several since 2008

This review is from: Rosewill Stallion Series RD450-2-SB 450W ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: I've used this unit in multiple builds starting in 2008. I have never had one fail. I just recently sold the original unit I bought back in 2008 which was still 100% functional.

Cons: I would prefer a modular PSU for better cable management, but that's a minor gripe.

Other Thoughts: It's always important to have reliable PSU. If a PSU dies, sometimes it can take your entire build with it and if can destroy components attached to it. This unit is my go-to for mid-level builds (business/office/light-mid gaming). This card wont be powering multiple SLI/Crossfire cards or 8 hard drives in RAID, but it will cover most of your every needs.

1 out of 5 eggsDose not work

This review is from: Rosewill Stallion Series RD450-2-SB 450W ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: The device dose not actually deliver the 450w of power as advertised the system i put it in only requires about 250w of power i thought that a power supply advertised to provide 450w of power would do so at least 300w but as soon as the system is under any kind of load with this power supply it shuts down due to lack of power

Other Thoughts: it would be nice for the price even great if it actually worked

5 out of 5 eggsGood and cheap

This review is from: Rosewill Stallion Series RD450-2-SB 450W ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: Cheap power supplies and last long. I have been buying them for years now and I have only had two go bad on me after the fan got plugged up from dust and stopped.

Cons: No -5v. i have ordered them for replacements on old desktops and they don't work without that data rail.

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done.

This review is from: Rosewill Stallion Series RD450-2-SB 450W ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: Low cost
solid performance
runs cool

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For what I purchased it for, I really went by reviews left by others.

I bought this for a replacement for a friend in need, as their PSU went kaput. Since it is not my PC in front of me, testing it was quite difficult.

But, in a nutshell, she was happy, it still works, keeps her machine cooler according to her, and, quite frankly, gets the job done.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted all of 3 weeks

This review is from: Rosewill Stallion Series RD450-2-SB 450W ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: The black color matches my case.

Cons: Powered off in the middle of using the PC and won't power back on again. It now only spins the fan for a second and turns back off again. It's only been in use for about 3 weeks.

Other Thoughts: Although I suspect the failure has something to do with the "short protection circuitry" I don't see why it would have tripped out of nowhere 3 hours into a computing session, and if I hook up a different PS the system boots just fine. This leads me to believe it's more liklely that the "protection circuitry" is faulty rather than the components it's powering. To add salt to to the wound it has a 30 day return policy and I bought it.. 34 days ago.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

This review is from: Rosewill Stallion Series RD450-2-SB 450W ATX V2.2 Power Supply

Pros: Solid
Cheap
Excellent for a micro

Cons: Did not work, turned on my computer for about 2 seconds then it would cut off. I tried another power supply with even less watts and it worked perfectly, so i conclude that this power supply was defective.
