4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Big, solid power supply.

Cons: cables very thick. not enough room behind hard drives to connect cables with computer case side panel on. Had to use sata extension power cables or move hard drives into the 5.25 bays in order to attach the cables. Not that big a deal.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat stuff

Pros: More powerful than you may think.

Cons: Not modular, but I knew that going in.

Other Thoughts: I'm always trying to making my gaming PC a little cooler, quieter, and now more power efficient. So, when I was looking for something to replace my old non-80 plus power supply, I thought I would do something crazy and try a 450w PSU for my gaming system. It works flawlessly.

Specs:
- OCZ Vertex 4 128GB x2 in RAID0
- Western Digital RE4 2TB
- Core i5-3570k, modestly OC'd to 4.2 Ghz
- Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XT, OC'd to 1100 Mhz with voltage turned up 20%

I've stress-tested this machine with Furmark and long gaming sessions, and this PSU has not hiccuped once (knock on wood).

The down-side is that I'll never be able to cross-fire without buying a new PSU, but I've always been a single GPU guy.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, not greatness

Pros: Well constructed. Quiet. 7 year warranty is impressive. Single rail.

Cons: Only 4 watts more efficient at idle than a seasonic bronze [60 less]. Break even is 17 years [24x7x365] given 0.1$/kwh and is 10watts is 6.8 years. Point is I will stick to bronze rated units given the multi-year payback times. It is true I have not calculated the cooling costs for 3+ months of the year, nor when it does not matter nor the time waste heat helps heat the home.

Other Thoughts: Bought for a 24x7 server.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Very quiet, almost silent. Large 135mm fan does a great job moving alot of air at low rpm.
Got it on sale 69.99 which is great, it'd be even better if I endup getting the MIR with it as well.

Cons: None so far. Possibly when it comes to the MIR. Just hoping I actually get it back.

Other Thoughts: Awesome deal with shell shocker. I needed something quieter for my gf's build. Originally had a psu with two small loudish fans and I had an 80mm case fan going. I replaced the psu AND removed the small loud rattling case fan and now you can't hear any noise. The case mounts this on top so it does a better job with just this and no case fans! Makes me very happy.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PCI wifi desktop card 4 $

Pros: Inexpensive, reliable, comes with mini form factor bracket just in case.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Can't beat this card for the money, if you have an older desktop you need to retro fit to have wifi this is the card for you!

5 out of 5 eggsGhost PSU

Pros: I just built an "everyday" computer for a family member with this PSU. after about 5-6 hours so far this thing is quieter than the only 2 fans in the system (a 120mm NZXT fan and a 60mm AMD stock HS fan)! TWO other fans and I can't even hear this thing even hum. Honestly they should have called this the "Ghost" series.

Cons: Not modular, but you should expect that for a platinum ratinf

Other Thoughts: I will update this if I have any problems but for now its butter smooth

5 out of 5 eggsSo quiet you won't even know its on.

Pros: QUIET! Really the fan in this thing is so quiet you won't know its running.

Braided power wires.

Cables are long and the sata connectors are spaced far apart you won't need extensions to connect multiple drives to one cable.

20+4 motherboard connector and 4+4 EPS 12V connectors give you lots of flexibility.

Comes with two types of mounting screws:
Standard Philps head and thumb screws

> 94% efficiency so its going to be cheaper to run.

No LED!!!

Its really QUIET!!!

Price

Cons: Not Modular??? But I didn't want modular.

No LED if that's your sort of thing.

Other Thoughts: Runs whisper quiet, and I love the fact that even though it is rated at more power than my old 300 W power supply, it will probably use less power since most of that energy is used and NOT turned into heat. Also 80 Plus Platinum power supplies run cooler.

Unless you need modular there is nothing not to like about this power supply.
