5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: Runs silent. Relatively cheap (bought it at $79.99). Power cables are long enough for my full tower where PSU is at the bottom and connectors are at the top. Flat cables makes management easy.

Cons: None at this point.

Other Thoughts: My 9-years old 550W Rosewill PSU finally bit the dust and I bought this one to replace it. It's my first modular PSU and I swear I will never go back to non-modular. Hope this one will last another 9 years. Recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill Hive - 1st PC Build

Pros: First time PC builder. Easy to use, easy to set up. Problem free @ 2 months. Nice cables. Semi-Modular. Seems to run cool. Plenty of power for the system I built.

Cons: None so far.

3 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware

Pros: It functions, is quiet, and is efficient.

Cons: Specifications are not as labeled. You will find that this PSU only has 2 6+2 PCI-E power connectors. I'm very aggravated that I spent all this time waiting for a replacement for an old (now dead) model, that doesn't have what was labelled in the description. I didn't bother looking at the rest of what may be wrong, but I did test the PSU to see if it at least worked correctly, which it did. I will most likely end up using this on a HTPC or something.

3 out of 5 eggsLasted 6 months

Pros: - Easy to set up
- Comes with plenty of cables and ties
- Quiet
- Worked fine while it lasted
- 3 year warranty

Cons: - Only lasted 6 months

Other Thoughts: No signs of failure until 2 days before it decided to die. Computer completely shut off out of the blue, but I was able to turn it back on immediately. The next day when it turned off in the same fashion the power button did nothing. Thanks to the warranty I was able to get my replacement, and they shipped it back very quick. Maybe I got unlucky as I see reviews saying theirs lasted years, but who knows.

3 out of 5 eggsJust up and died

Pros: Ran my semi-gaming machine solid for three years, then just up and died on me today. Never turned my computer off. For the price, I can't complain. Will be getting another one.

Cons: Just up and died on me today.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good

Pros: Cheap;
Not too loud;
Bag to store the extras;
Nice clean all black cables;
Does what it has to do perfectly.

Cons: Well the 6-8 pin connectors for the graphics cards has a red connector at the end and my build was black/blue so had to paint that to get it matching. Not a con actually and by the pictures of newegg I knew I would have to do this.

5 out of 5 eggsStill Going Strong

Pros: As this power supply is on the more affordable end of the spectrum, I would imagine you guys and gals might have some concerns regarding its reliability.
I have owned and used this power supply in my gaming rig for three years now. Zero problems, it's still going strong.

Cons: None. I'll update my review in three more years.

Other Thoughts: Rosewill is planet.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good reviews, solid performance

Cons: Only has 2 pce-e 6+2 connectors. Both the 550w and 650w have wrong specs on newegg. Only the 750w has 4 pci-e connectors

5 out of 5 eggsA work horse!

Pros: PROS: When I bought a gaming computer from iBuyPower I bought one with a 250W GPU knowing I had the Rosewill HIVE in my HP. I replaced the 250W PSU in the iBuyPower computer with this PSU and have not had ANY problems with it at all... and I game hard with that computer... (All online, multiplayer Battlefield franchise from BF 1942 through BF4. Titanfall, Crysis, SOF, etc.). I have yet to have any problems with this PSU.

Cons: None noted after 2 plus years of use other than what I noted below, and that's not really a "CON". It fit without modifying either the case or the PSU.

CONS: If you want to call it a con maybe it would be the "fit". I had to struggle a little to get it seated properly but once it fell in it fit like a glove. The mounting screw holes lined up and the PSU is a solid fit.

Other Thoughts: INSTALL: Physically, it's a larger PSU so make sure it will fit in your computer case prior to purchasing. It comes with more than enough connections for my gamer and the HP and it was simple to install and connect. I had no issues installing it.

OVERALL: I bought this PSU through Newegg over two years ago if I recall. I have big hands, arthritic fingers, little patience so this can be a challenge for me re: the confined spaces a computer has for me to work in. NO PROBLEMS here, I've installed this PSU in two different computers now. The first one, an HP pavilion, dual core, 16 gb RAM that I was using for everyday work AND the occasional gaming (BF BC2, BF 3). Unlike the stock 250 Watt PSU that came with the computer the Rosewill never overloaded and ran much quieter. It stayed cool and I never had any issues with the PSU or any loading up by the computer that I could attribute to the PSU.

It's durable, I've never had any issues with it and it supplies the power needed to run the two computers I've installed it in with no issues whatsoever.

If you're looking for a great, economical PSU I recommend you get this one.

1 out of 5 eggsWouldn't recommend even for medium power builds

Pros: -It somewhat works.
-Good value had it not in perfect working condition.

Cons: My system is recommend to have 400W, so I went with this PSU thinking it'd be enough. 250W is a big leeway, but I don't think that's what it performs at. The thing always starts with a rattling noise at start up. Always. Last for a good few minutes, until it remains at a constant buzz. It wasn't a loose/dry bearing on any of my fans, because the issue went away as soon as I replaced the PSU. Either it came DOA or it just simply does not perform at its advertised rating.

Before I replaced it, my CPU and GPU would overheat pretty badly, even if it was idling in a cool room. My computer would also shut down randomly during gaming. Both of these issues disappeared when I replaced the PSU.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend. I strongly suggest one invest in a Corsair model, as they have proven to be much more reliable in my experience.
