3 out of 5 eggsoverall works well, but the usb cords are too short

Pros: generally works as designed, used with win 8, ubuntu, mint, and win 7 on a variety of older and newer machines with usb 2 & 3. displays 1600x1200 fine

Cons: Biggest negative is the usb cords are about an inch or two short for my dell m4600 laptop - the vga connector is right in the middle on the back of the laptop and the only usb connector is on the sides. I can either plug in the usb or the vga connector, but not both at the same time.

I'm not a fan of the button to switch, I'd rather have keystrokes. If there is a button, would be nice to show which one is active on it, rather than the module that is usually hidden behind the desk/computer.

4 out of 5 eggsworks well. i'm very happy.

Pros: i just wanted to write this to let you all know that this works well. it takes a few seconds to switch back and forth but it's always worked. i only use it to switch a wireless keyboard/mouse back and forth b/w two PC's. i don't use the vga cables. i like the button to switch back and forth with because it has a pretty long cable for you to place the little button where every you want for convenience.

Cons: haven't experienced anything bad so far

5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: Can't imagine anything that would make it better. easy to use. easy to hookup. Love how I can take my wireless keyboard and mouse usb and plug into here and use with both desktop and laptop and switch back and forth easily.

Cons: can't think of any

5 out of 5 eggsI'll Be Back to Buy Another

Pros: This was my first new KVM in many years. I read many reviews and found this one.

It's reliable. So much so that I haven't had a single problem with it.

I have it set up between my home server (a Dell Optiplex running Ubuntu) and my Windows 7 Dell desktop. I'm using it between the monitor, keyboard, and mouse that are on the Windows 7, so if I have any maintenance to perform on the server, I can do so with ease, and don't have to deal with remote desktop connection to an otherwise headless unit.

I really like the remote switch. It even has a nice foam gripper on the back. It's a great design compared to the competition, which makes you look at all the wires. While I don't mind wires myself, this Rosewill unit really makes a good presentation.

I have had no issues when rebooting either machine, and the switchover from one machine to the other is nearly instantaneous. Quick enough for my needs, anyway.

Also, I see no issues with the VGA quality through this unit. For the resolutions I'm putting through there (1920x1200), I see no difference between using this KVM and a direct VGA connection to the computers themselves.

I'll be back to buy another one one of these days, for myself in another setup, and for a customer in his.

Cons: It doesn't carry audio, but I knew that ahead of time and was completely comfortable with that. I can't ding the product in any way, including in terms of cord length, because you get what you pay for, and this Rosewill is a great deal at the price I paid for it.

Newegg doesn't want me to tell you how much I did pay for it, but I paid about twenty times the cost of something at the Dollar Tree.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Comes with cables and good price

Cons: Not really a con since I knew it did not have a jack for audio, but it would be nice to have an audio jack for this model.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works as expected.

Cons: The listed cable length of 90cm (3ft) is from end to end, so each cable is only 18in long.

Other Thoughts: Device is USB powered, so at least one USB will need to plugged in. Used to switch between Windows 8 and a security camera DVR.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great price and great quality.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Rosewill is a solid brand. I bought this to connect a PC and Xbox 360 to the same monitor. Works perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsVery handy

Pros: Very easy to set up and use. I work on many other systems where I have my main and got tired of unplugging my 2nd monitor, mouse and KB over and over. this thing nipped that right in the bud. Now I can still use my main PC/Monitor while working on another with my 2nd monitor.

Cons: Push button selector rather than hot key/F-key selector, but not really a big deal.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anyone who tinkers around with more than one computer at a time. You won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it says

Pros: switches instantly
only needs one of the four usb port wires to power itself

Cons: short switch wire for my use

Other Thoughts: i have two desktops that are in the corner in the basement while my work desk in in the middle of the room. i had to run a 15 foot VGA extension from the KVM to my monitor on the desk. which is what i planned on doing.

The problem is that the switch wire is now +15 feet away and i have to run over every time i switch monitors and there is no way to extend the switch besides cutting the wire .

The only other solution i can do is buy another 15ft VGA extention, Four 15ft usb extensions, and a usb power supply because the voltage drop from a 15ft distance is too much to properly run usb devices.

So it is possible but is a lot of messing around and a lot of cables to run

4 out of 5 eggsGreat low cost effective KVM

Pros: -Low cost
-Small form factor
-Cables provided
-Tested up to 1920x1080 over VGA with good quality display
-Separate PC switch button is nice.

Cons: -Only goes up to 1680x1050 well on my Surface Pro 2 but it could be my VGA Adapter cable so I can't really complain much.

Other Thoughts: For $19.99, its a no brainer for a basic reliable KVM for two PCs.
