Pros: This KVM was about the best rated one here, particularly for the money, and I'm very happy with its essentially flawless performance so far. These simple peripherals can give you lots of trouble, so to have none so far has been a pleasant surprise. The low price seems an extra bonus, as many of the switches on here are surprisingly expensive. It seems fairly solid and has a quality feel in the hand.

Cons: I gave it 4 rather than 5 eggs because I've only had it a month, so who knows if it's going to stop working in a few more weeks. I'll try to remember to check back in a year and update this review. This is the first KVM I've ever owned, after years of flirting with the idea, so I have no idea what sort of reliability to expect.

Also, the mass of cabling that comes with this one is a bit short, as others noted, but I have USB extension cables so I wasn't too worried about that.

I'm only using the KM part of this KVM, so the short VGA cables don't matter to me, but one quibble I have is that they don't make one of these KVMs that is really just a true KM. In this modern era, there's little reason to need video switching given that PC monitors have upwards of 3 or 4 HDMI or DVI connections, allowing you to switch video using the monitor remote control to change video inputs and just leave all your PCs connected through their own cables (my solution - I use an HDTV as my monitor). And anyone interested in serious gaming (as I am) doesn't want to send their expensive GPU signal to be processed through some cheap KVM, introducing potential artifacts or lag, etc. I have enough problems just getting high end ($500) GPUs to bloody well work right out of the box, don't' need any more complications. So, maybe some manufacturer will see this review and offer such a product. It would cut down on the cable clutter factor nicely.

Pros: This was the lowest priced KVM for 4 computers, usb type, that included audio switching and had some very positive reviews.

Cons: The first one I ordered did not work, and I was out $15 shipping it back. The replacement works fine and I love it. This makes me appreciate those online sellers who offer free shipping to replace defective items...hint, hint.

Pros: Easy to get connected

Cons: It doesn't work with LCD/LED monitors well, it gets blurry. I bought one and found this defect, then replaced with another one, but the second one still has the same problem. Then I got to return it.

-Bundled cables are well designed and durable
-Extremely reliable
-Well priced

If you are in need of a 4-port KVM, look no further. I've ordered many of these units for use at work and at home - never once have I had an issue. Simply put, this is the best KVM you'll find for under $50.

Cons: None

Pros: Works most of the time. -- See cons.

Cons: Mouse and keyboard frequently go dead in a repeatable and very inconvenient manner.

If a machine is connected to input 1 and nothing else is connected (or powered on), when that machine is booted the keyboard and mouse will only work:

- If the machine was previously booted with them connected
- And the input was not switched during the reboot
- And it is not a cold boot from power off

Unless all of these are true, then the keyboard and mouse will be dead until whatever OS has finished booting. Impossible in most cases to enter the BIOS/UEFI when using this KVM.

Other Thoughts: Non-detachable cables make it difficult to place. On the other hand, they're impossible to lose.

Given the problems keeping connected, and reconnecting, I would not buy again.

Pros: Costs less than the cables it contains would separately. Has a little button with a decent length wire (~5ft), which allows you to switch between computers. Two USB cables, an audio and mic cable, and a VGA cable per computer (4)and for output. Has 4 lights so you know which is connected. This saves me so much time switching between the computers.

Cons: Input cables (to towers) are a little short (~3ft), but you can buy additional cables to extend them if you want/need to.

Other Thoughts: Great purchase, makes my setup look great.

Pros: It switches audio in addition to the VGA/Keyboard/Mouse.
It has a remote button for switching screens which I like.
It is non emulated which means it will work with more types of keyboards and mice than some emulated versions.

Cons: The video is blurry and has progressively gotten worse over time. Right now every letter on my screen has a blurred shadow to the right of it. (almost a half inch long)
The video clears right up when connected direct to each PC. And yes I have tried other monitors etc.
Since it is a non emulated KVM, there are no hot keys to switch with, you need to use the button. (this is not a big deal for me)

Other Thoughts: I can still read most of the screen so I guess it might work for a set of servers or something you dont need to access much. But for a daily use I can not recommend.

Pros: This KVM switch was bought for a tech bench. I knew the cables were under 3ft but dang if you put 4 desktops side by side it can barely reach all 4 of them. There is no wiggle room. They really made a kvm switch with short short cables. Why? I see no reason to make them this short. 5ft is the bare minimum for any tech bench or personal use for that matter. Also if the remote toggle switch malfunctions/breaks your out of lcuck because there is no other way to switch according to the 1 page "user manual" that came with it. So if there is a keyboard combination key there is no mention of it. So -1 egg for short cables and -1 egg for a poor user manual.

I get the strongest feeling that this product was designed to be readily disposable and that you should be ready to replace it at a moments notice.

Luckily I got this as a gift otherwise I would probably have returned it. The product works regardless and besides its major flaws its a solid piece of equipment for the price tag. I have seen a specialized KVM cable cost more then this entire unit so it is a good price for what you get.

Cons: 1. Switches Fast
2. Can plug up a USB hub to either of the 2 USB ports to power multiple devices including wireless mice, keyboards, speakers and external HDD's. It is better to have a self powered hub. They seem to both be USB 2.0.
3. It has speaker throughput.

Other Thoughts: 1. Short short short cables. Less than 3ft.
2. Poor user manual. No mention of keyboard shortcut command for switching.
3. If the remote toggle switch goes out your out of luck and the product won't switch. No sign of keyboard shortcut keys to switch.
4. Cables are NOT removable or replaceable.

Pros: Worked great for two and a half month

Cons: Suddenly the screen comes up for a second then goes black. This happens on all three computers: 2 desktop and one laptop. Disconnected everything. Reconnected. Same thing. Rebooted computers. Same thing.
This is a very bad product. I know it's under warranty but still...

Other Thoughts: I used to like Rosewill products, buy them and recomme4nd them to my customers. The last couple of products I got from them was so-so quality. This is VERY bad. Bye-bye Rosewill.
