USB devices have become so popular that it's easy to fill all of your ports and still need more. This seven port self-powered hub from Rosewill can help.

As we get more stuff on our desk, it helps if it looks good and doesn't have a large “footprint”. This vertically standing hub accomplishes both. It comes with its own 5V, 2Amp DC adapter so your computer doesn't need to provide the power, and it is both USB 2.0 and 1.1 compatible. To keep your peripherals safe, it also protects against over-current conditions. It uses a mini Type B input connector (cable included) and has seven Type A output connectors.

If you're running out of sockets for your USB peripherals, then you definitely ought to take a look at this hub. It just might be the answer to all your problems. Well, the USB problems, at least.

1 out of 5 eggsIt'll stop working on you

This review is from: Rosewill RHB-320 7 Ports USB 2.0/1.1 Hub with Power Adapter

Pros: Works when you take it out of the box, and probably for the first 30 days when you can return it.

Cons: Over time ports will stop working. First one, then another, and you'll think you're going insane because things stop working with no rhyme or reason. In less than two months I've had several failures on this hub, while I have other hubs that are 3 years old that still work.

Note that the ports will still provide power to cell phones/other devices, but they won't be recognized by your computer.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

This review is from: Rosewill RHB-320 7 Ports USB 2.0/1.1 Hub with Power Adapter

Pros: This hub does a wonderful job. Despite what some reviewers have stated, it does come with an external power supply. Reportedly 2 amp. Using this hub I have never received the windows warning message of power limits exceeded on hub. The only thing that I could possibly frown on, is the rubber flapper that is on the top that covers the top few ports. I guess the idea besides displaying the brand name is to keep the dust out. It eventually breaks off or I just pull it out. But that's really looking for something to gripe about. I have purchased two of these and highly recommend them. I've seen them as low as about $10 with Free Shipping. Currently $14.99. I guess its supply and demand but usually the color black is cheaper. Whatever, Black is fine.

Cons: It's not free, and a technician did not come out and install it for me.

Other Thoughts: Well made.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill RHB-320 7 Ports USB 2.0/1.1 Hub with Power Adapter

Pros: Works out of the box.
Can be used as a USB charger since it has independent power.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I use this to charge my phones, power my Raspberry Pi, and charge my Razer Mamba while my computer is not on.

1 out of 5 eggsShort cable

This review is from: Rosewill RHB-320 7 Ports USB 2.0/1.1 Hub with Power Adapter

Pros: It works 3.28 feet from the computer. Bought it on sale

Cons: Input Cable is way too short and uses an oddball USB Connector for the input. The USB connector next to the input is strictly an output connection so you cannot use a normal USB cable to connect to a computer.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill RHB-320 7 Ports USB 2.0/1.1 Hub with Power Adapter

Pros: Looks nice and feels sturdy

Cons: Bought it in June. Tried plugging something into the far right port today and it doesn't work. I never thought to test every port immediately.

5 out of 5 eggsmothership

This review is from: Rosewill RHB-320 7 Ports USB 2.0/1.1 Hub with Power Adapter

Pros: This product has a solid build quality. The separation of the port locations is great for diversely shaped USB dongles. Because it is externally powered, the ports call ALL support passport type drives simultaneously.

Cons: Have not seem any as of yet.

Other Thoughts: The top ports are covered by a swivel rubber cover
