Pros: Plugged into Xbox 360 and it charges Xbox 360 controllers AND Xbox One controllers. A great way to have 1 USB cable running across the room, rather than 4.

I have two devices that require 2 usb ports each and require quite a bit of power on the usb ports. I actually burned out the usb header on an older system when I plugged up both devices because I did not have enough ports to supply 2 ports to each device.

This was exactly what I needed. The external power takes care of the extra power and I had no problem powering both devices as well as a wireless keyboard and mouse. Yes, I use this to charge my cell phone and tablet because I have a habit of misplacing the adapters.

A second benefit is having this on the desktop since I only have 2 front side usb ports. Having 7 ports sitting on the desktop makes it easy to connect all devices and charge my cell phone and tablet at the same time. My system is enclosed in a desk and it is a real inconvenience to use the rear ports.

Cons: USB 2.0 is rather slow. Not really a con especially for the price, but my external hard drives are USB 3.0.

Other Thoughts: An added benefit is I use this to charge my phone and tablet. No more adapter, just one usb hub and one plug.

Even though I have a motherboard that can handle the power requirements of any CPU, the USB ports are the weak point on the motherboard. When I used all 6 USB 2.0 ports, my wireless mouse would have problems with movement and clicking. I am pretty sure it was because of too much power draw on the USB header. Switching to the USB hub solved this problem.

I never used a USB hub before because my motherboards have 6 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports. I never could understand why someone would need a hub, but now I am sold on the convenience and benefits of a hub.

Pros: Rosewill RHB-320W 7port USB Hub. This is a very simple device that allows for turning one USB 2.0 slot into 7 USB 2.0 ports. Offering up to 480Mbps of transfer speed. While i did not see that speed I was overall impressed by its speed in general. For a USB2.0 hub its great. Its included power supply allows you to use it as a charging station for your USB powered devices without taking from your systems power. There's not a whole lot to be said for this simple device other than it works as advertised and will easily make your cable clutter a little more manageable. I used it with 5 of the 7 ports occupied with flash drives and was able to seamlessly copy to and from the installed devices simultaneously without bogging it down to a crawl. It has a very nice weighted stand that allows it to sit about 2.5-3 inches off the desktop and the weighted base makes it stable and does not move around while trying to plug or unplug devices. This base is also removable for taking it on the GO with you, making it a great extension for your LAN runs laptops or any other portable device that has USB ports on it that you need to expand upon. I wish I could say more but it simply does as it states it does.

Cons: I really found no cons other than the orientation of some ports made it nigh improbable to plug anything into the next port. this is really a nit pick another nit pick would be I'd rather see all ports on one side like same side as power. This would allow for a lot cleaner cable arrangement if place on a desktop which to me is its intended location. Neither nit pick warrants loosing an EGG. This one is however worthy of a crack in an EGG but its other benefits negate it. WHY WHY WHY in this day and age isn't this USB 3.0?????

Other Thoughts: Other thoughts hmm well I can say if your looking for expandability for your USB 2.0 powered/accessed arsenal this is a no brainer. I'd recommend it to anybody asking me for a USB hub without hesitation. I have purchased other Rosewill products in the past and none have ever left me with any regretful feelings. They are known for making good low priced quality products.

Pros: I have quite a few USB hubs floating around, and this one really isnt any different than the rest of them. I will admit that this particular model is pretty sturdy, and not made of any cheap plastic. Otherwise, its just another USB 2.0 hub.

It has a weighted detachable stand, which I think is almost pointless to have. I keep the stand on for looks, but its nothing that a little bit of 3m double sided tape cant take care of. The top of the hub has a rubber dust cover that I really like, but the placement of the ports are kind of in a bad location.

I will give this item 4 eggs simply because I dropped this thing in water by accident when I opened this for the first time. It still functions! Just have to remember NOT to open this thing next to the sink next time......

Cons: Its just another USB hub. Not a con, really. This isnt really the type of hub that is low profile, so you can expect to have a jumble of cables coming around the hub, so dont expect to use this to declutter an area. Other than that, no major gripes.

Pros: I didn't think I needed this, but after trying to figure out how to test it, I actually came up with some uses for it! My first thought was, "Hey! This could actually work for all them Rock Band USB things needing plugged into the playstation so everything can have a go at the same time!" Which it works great for, but everyone here has been done with Rock Band for awhile now.

Second test was even better! I plugged it in and used it as a charge station! iPods, diabetic meter, phones, etc. Anything that can be charged off USB! I found this extremely useful as you can use your laptop more freely if you aren't using it to charge your toys! No more having to pick up your laptop and whatever you wanted to charge! Using this to just charge USB devices in our house has proved to be a very convenient! You can also argue that it will help save the USB ports on your computers from premature death if you aren't constantly plugging and unplugging from them!

I like the cover for the top three usb ports as I will probably never use them. Good to keep the dust and such out. The whole thing is really small but it seems strong enough. It doesn't feel flimsy and cheap.

Cons: I don't have any cons! I understand if you want more power, you will need a plug. I understand you can't have a port that delivers x amps magically double or triple the delivery just because you need more power! Thus I understand that if I want that much power, being portable may prove cumbersome. This device does exactly what it was designed to do.

Other Thoughts: I read the product description and specs so I understand what this is and am not upset that it isn't what it wasn't meant to be. USB is limited to 480Mbps which in better understanding for most, that's 60MB/s. So if you got the best USB 2.0 on your PC and you got the best drivers and everything is working as best as it possibly can, you will be doing good to see your transfers hit 30MB/s. If you expect to have your iPhone, External Hard Drive, and a USB Flash Drive plugged in and transfer content at 30MB/s each, then you will be very disappointed! Think of this as a power strip. The ability to plug in and use more things, but you are still plugged into one electric socket and regulated by how much power is on that circuit. So if you plug in a TV, alarm clock, lamp, etc... You should be fine. If you plug in a deep freezer, air conditioner, and such. You're going to overload the circuit and things just won't work! The more you use, the less you have available. This device gives you 2A of power by plugging the included power supply into an electrical outlet. If you don't plug it in, you are limited to the USB 500 milliamps. You only got one uplink and 480Mbps is this devices speed limit. 60MB/s if you rather label your speeds in bytes and not bits. So if you understand what you got and what it is capable of providing you, how can you be upset that it isn't doing what it isn't designed to do? I should also note that if you want to blame this device if you believe your drive is slow, do this test. Test the speed of your device three times with it plugged directly into your USB port on your computer, and then plug this hub in that exact same port and run the same test three times. Not all test will be identical, which is why you test three times. You should see things in the general ball park. If you test small files first and then large files second, you result will be different so you need to be consistent when you test. This hub is 7x ports, not 7x mightier, or 7x better. If your flash drive writes at 7MB a second, no hub can speed it up!

Pros: The design is nice for a desk or for on-the-go, due to the removable base. The mix of vertical and horizontal ports is good for people who have some devices permanent and some that get removed often.

It's nicely sized for travel. (See below for the down-side to that.)

The power is good, I did my best to try to max out the power consumption on this. Plugging in a few hard drive enclosures, chargers, and other devices, all of them still worked, although I'm sure the current to the charging devices was less when other devices were drawing power. I'm assume you could max this thing out with some combination of several very greedy devices, so if you have many such devices, do the math and make sure 2A is enough. But if not, you are probably safe with any combination of low-consumption devices (plus one or two power hogs).

Cons: Not USB 3.0. That should be clear from the description, and it's not a "bad" thing, it's just a fact. For this price range, you can't get a good USB 3.0 hub (yet), so there's no reason to count this against this product. It is what it is.

I'm not a huge fan of the rubber do-dad on top that covers the four top ports.

It's not good if you have a device with a big cord or that plugs in right to the port. These ports are not spaced out, so you will have to deal with blocking adjacent ports or get a small USB extension cord for that device (not a bad idea to have a few of those lying around if you have such bulky devices, frankly).

There's a fine balance between size and function, and they sacrificed a bit of function for the small size. Some people will appreciate that -- so this isn't necessarily pro or con. Just make sure you shop according to your needs.

I would love to have them throw in a second power cord that goes to a USB port (with no data connection, just power) so that you can power this from a laptop (if that laptop has two independently powered USB busses). You could buy an adapter for that (I already have one) and it seems to work (although I didn't try to max out the power load on this, knowing that my laptop USB busses might not deliver as much as the hub expects from the included power supply).

The 1x up is what kills it for me. I have too many data-intensive devices, even on-the-go, which makes this harder to use as an all-purpose hub. Combine that with my complaint about needing a wall-outlet, and the best way to upgrade this model to something that meets my needs would be either a 3.0 version or two upstream ports (or a 3.0 version with two upstream ports). This would help with bandwidth AND with make it potentially independent of the wall outlet.

This, plus my other nitpicks, really only amounts to one egg, but in the end it is worth one egg. With USB3.0 devices becoming more common, putting them all on a single 2.0 upstream is going to really cause them to compete for that bandwidth. The average consumer might not see an impact right now, but in a year this hub might not cut the mustard.

Other Thoughts: I worry about the limited up speed on this device, but that's really why this isn't an all-purpose device (and for me, that's one reason I wouldn't be able to use this, since I have multiple peripherals that would be splitting this 1x up).

But if you are in that situation, it would probably be better to get a USB 3.0 hub anyway. That's what I would do if I needed a new hub. This one won't cut it for me due to some very specific / strenuous requirements I have.

Overall, this is still a great solution for anybody using a few random USB devices. Make sure to shop around and verify that this meets your power/bandwidth needs. If so, by all means, go for it. It's great for you. If not, get a better hub.

And if you want this to be viable as a long-term hub that doesn't need replacing in two years, it might not keep pace with the technology. Go for a 3.0 hub instead.

Pros: This is a great hub. I later ordered another and they are working as expected. I like the design because it leaves lots of room on the desktop and can be daisey chained to conserve more space.

Cons: NONE AT ALL

Other Thoughts: Price and Design are Rosewill marketing points and I have used their products for 5 years.

Pros: Nice arrangement of the USB ports
Lasted over two years

Cons: Mine stopped working 2 years and 9 months after my purchase. I feel like I got great use of it, but I am disappointed that it did not last longer

Pros: When it works, it's perfect. That's why I gave it another extra star

Cons: Stopped working after more than 1 year. Almost burned my motherboard. Took me about 30 min to recover everything

Other Thoughts: not reliable enough. disconnect everything that was not in use in case it burns out
