4 out of 5 eggs2 years (knock wood) and going strong...

Pros: Reliable KVM switching!

Cons: The switch can get picky if it looses signal or you remove a device and recconect it while the device is on. For example connecting a laptop that is booted up might not get seen by the switch. But if you connect the laptop and then boot up no problem.

Other Thoughts: I've been using this switch for over two years and it has proven to be reliable and for a KVM that for me is the biggest and really only sell point. When I swicht between my personal laptop and graphics workstation/gaming rig I want to know that its going to work and this KVM hasn't failed me yet (knock wood).

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible refresh rate

Pros: Can hook up two PC's via DVI and USB

Cons: The refresh rate on this is horrible. Don't expect to use this and be able to game on a PC that is hooked up to it. It also cause my keyboard and mouse to not work several times so I had to reboot to get them back.

Other Thoughts: Usually I don't have issues with Rosewill products but this is junk. Sending this back to Newegg for a refund. DO NOT BUY.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks better using USB switch

Pros: Works perfectly with my Comfort Mouse after plugging keyboard and mouse into USB hub and toggling mouse emulation mode a few times. Very inexpensive solution compared with similar specifications from other brands.

Cons: Setup can get tricky with new hardware.

Other Thoughts: The trick is to not plug in the keyboard at the KVM. Just plugin a good USB hub. Plug your keyboard and mouse into that. Also, do not plug keyboard USB into computer. Only plug in the black USB. This disables hotkeys but I'd rather have it work and never used hotkeys anyway.

2 out of 5 eggsNot working with Comfort Mouse 3000

Pros: Worked nearly flawlessly for several years.

Cons: Does not work with USB mouse I bought (see other review.) Recently I purchased a Microsoft Comfort Mouse 3000. Mouse works fine plugged in directly to Windows 7 PC and OSX Mavericks Macbook Pro. mouse is unresponsive when plugged into KVM. Even after ScrLk + ScrLk + F5 or ScrLk + ScrLk + m.

Other Thoughts: Have had issues with my macbookpro and Windows 7 PC lately with the screen going black. I have to turn the monitor off and on. Does not happen if plugged directly into mouse or PC. Have done much testing and am still not certain this issue is the KVM. However, it seems like if I keep both machines from sleeping that screen issue goes away. Probably KVM. No idea on permanent fix. Was, and still is a good deal. But you roll the dice with this one.

1 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with Razer branded gear

Pros: Video works great.

Cons: Let me start off by saying that I am writing this review moments after giving up trying to get this hunk of junk to work properly so this review may seem a tad angry.

First off, if you plan on using any Razer branded gear with this KVM, you might as well forget about. I have a 2013 deathadder and blackwidow ultimate keyboard. The mouse simply does not work period but it does work with every other generic mouse I have (tried about 6). The keyboard lights up leading you to believe it works, it also types BUT when you start to type full sentences you figure out really quick that the KVM cuts of the signal every few seconds or so and much of what you type gets cut out. This problem persisted with every other keyboard I used.

Let's talk about the audio for a second. If you don't mind what sounds like a bumbling chainsaw feedback noise at all times, then you should do alright. I couldn't last more than 5 minutes before I ripped my headphones off and unplugged the audio.

SO,

The "K" doesn't work properly, the "V" works just fine, the "M" doesn't work at all so it looks like I bought a really expensive "V"

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Simple. Does what it says.

Cons: Static on audio if volume raised to normal or loud level.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 units, one a couple years old and one new. If you are chaining them together like me, the PC video card power output determines if it works or not, not this component. In general daisy chaining should work except with integrated graphics (no discrete chip/video card.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: I posted the review below where I was frustrated. After spending more time I come to the conclusion that the Dell laptop Intel drivers do not work well with the KVM. For some unknown reason the DVI output is a real problem. Fortunately, the Dell docking station has a Displayport, unfortunately my monitor does not. So I purchased a Displayport to DVI converter and now the switch has been working fine.

Cons: If you are going to use a laptop with Intel drivers you may run into issues with the DVI port.

Other Thoughts: I am not sure if this is a Rosewell issue or an Intel issue. I have been using KVM's for many years and I never had one that worked flawlessly out of the box. The other issue I have run into is the the newer "unify" wireless connectors do not work with most KVM's. I did not try the unify wireless connectors with this KVM. I have enough compatibility issues.

1 out of 5 eggsFrustrated

Pros: DVI connectors and wired switch or hot keys to maintain audio from a single system.

Cons: Does not work consistently. Have a Dell Latitude and a tower. Tower works without issue but the laptop works for a month or two then stops working then the video flickers. Have to play with it for weeks to get it to work again. then it stops working.

I really didn't care about the cost I just want something to work!

Other Thoughts: Not worth the time you waste trying to get it to work.
