5 out of 5 eggsWorks

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply

Pros: Works as expected. I like that it's black, to match my case. Energy efficient, or so it says, but I can't prove it. I like the golf-ball texture on the fan blades, it looks cool.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, reliable, great!

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply

Pros: Reliable, cool temps, bronze certified means it's nicely efficient!

Cons: None, but it is 530W, keep that in mind.

Other Thoughts: Using it to power my 770 and I've got no issues, runs everything great on my rig. Installation was very simple, there's a nice mesh over all of the wires and helps ensure a good cable management setup.

4 out of 5 eggsVery happy with it

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply

Pros: More than adequate power, not lacking in connection types

Cons: A little noisier than my last supply; too many unused cables that have to be tied up

Other Thoughts: I chose this for the price. So far, it hasn't let me down. My system is far overpowered now, but that's OK. It gives me room for future expansion. Install was easy, and it includes enough connections; actually too many.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PSU

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply

Pros: This power supply never gave me any trouble. It ran an older AMD Athlon dual core CPU, 6 hard drives with a dedicated RAID controller, 3 120mm case fans, a DVDRW drive and an MSI motherboard.

Cons: Finally... it died.

Other Thoughts: I bought this PSU on March 14 of 2010 and it was operating 24/7 until May 12 2014 which was 2 days ago as of this writing. I say that's excellent for a 50 dollar PSU with 80+ bronze energy efficiency.

I just bought another identical one to replace it. You just can't beat it for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsVery efficient and quiet!

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply

Pros: Quiet
All voltages checked out fine

Cons: I personally felt it had a few too many connectors - it had two sets of 4pin molex, 2 sets of SATA - I think it could have done with 1 set of 4pin + floppy and the 2 SATA sets.

Other Thoughts: Used in a medium-use machine, going great so far!

2 out of 5 eggsWorked, until it didn't

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply

Pros: Worked quite well new.
Quiet

Cons: Stopped working well after some time.

Other Thoughts: Owned this power supply for about 8 months. At first it was great; quiet and met my power needs. Then suddenly one day I started getting power surges, So I purchased a UPS and still power surges. So as a guess I replaced this PSU with another I had lying around and suddenly no more surges. I say do yourself a favor and spend 5 more dollars on another companies power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsMight be an update- 1 @ 2 1/2 years; 1 @ 4 years and still going!

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply

Pros: These supplies are great! One purchased in Feb. 2010- started in a Win7 raid 1 machine, 630 Propus, OC, with a 5450 for video playback. Never gives a problem. It presently lives in an overbuilt HTPC setup. It tends to whine a bit, but it is probably my fault for not upgrading to surge protection produced in the last 10 years. Need an Isobar over there. Could be in-wall wiring picking up AC hum. Not much load on it anymore.
Second purchased Nov. 2011- went with Athlon II 840. Now with an A8-6600K OC to 4.4, 8GB, 8.1x64, 840EVO main drive, 2-1T Reds in Raid 1 for data; and the original system's 2009-2010 1T Seagate power-hogs (one for media, one for backups), soon to be replaced by two more 2T Reds that are much quieter.

Cons: I don't have more of them lying around
Not modular; but I have mine in 2 Antec 300s, v1. I have room to tuck the extras away.
More SATA connectors; I had some molex-to-sata adaptors left over from the retail drive boxes.
Even if the oldest one is whining on its own, I would buy these again.

5 out of 5 eggsAfter 2 years, no problems..

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, Single 12V Rail, SLI & Crossfire Ready, Active PFC "Compatible with AMD APU & Intel Core i7,i5,i3" Power Supply

Pros: I built my desktop over 2 years ago and reviewed this then. I use my computer every day and all is good. This power supply is still running smooth & quiet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My desktop specs....AMD 4100FX x4 @3.6Ghz ... Asus M5A97 Motherboard ... 8GB(2x4GB) DDR3 @ 1600 MHz ... 500 GB SATA HD @ 7200 RPM's ... SATA DVD Burner ... Various lights & fans... Right now running a Radeon HD5450 for video card(1 Gb)...Will be moving up soon to a Radeon 6870.
