This was not coil whine though, this was an almost inaudible screech that would only really be noticed when I had headphones one that were connected to the tower. Though I wasn't able to determine if this was due to an overtaxed or not, I'm not gonna criticize the power supply for making it. Other Thoughts: This power supply powered two 5870's in crossfire, and a 3570K that was overclocked to 4Ghz. Other Thoughts: This is a great power supply. It's only downfall is the massive amount of cabling like others have said. If you need the extra cabling or cable management isn't a huge deal to you this power supply will work quite well. My backup server has a whole slew of hard drives and it runs 24/7. The previous Rosewill PSU had been running continuously since May 2007 (71 months). It was still providing the power, but was starting to emit a burnt odor. With that kind of track record, I had no problems in buying another Rosewill power supply, and I can give no higher praise. Some reserve power for my sons' Asus 990 Evo, FX4100 and 1866 RAM w/Asus 550 Ti Fermi. These are the big power draws. Has SSD poot ddrive and Sata III multi tera-bite data drive. He uses thumb drives and recharges his internet phone with this outfit. He just cleaned and service the other day. He said it was beginning to collect some rug dust. Cons: None so far and don't expect any all considered (Rosewills' certified 80 %) Other Thoughts: I know the average load on the PSU is about half its max ability. After retiring from operating one of our local power plant units (500mw supercritical unit/150megawatt subcritical unit) for several decades, my Son should get several years of service writing his Python software and an occasional game if he keeps it clean with a little compressed air. He does monthly service for his customers and he will have to for himself. I'm getting too old to be bothered... I still write html/java with default editor but gave up assembly language couple decades back. He just needs to keep the good habit of servicing it... 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful. I dont have a beefy Video card to push it yet but i am satisfied. Cons: Haven't OC'd my CPU and dont have a graphics card to push it to give it a full 5 eggs.
