This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: Cost is good, reliability no so good.

Cons: First one I had caused computer to drop out out of the box. returned and now the second one is tripping the voltage surge on my second build after a year. Not sure what the issue is, not related to load on computer, doesn't seem to be overheating, just throws a spike and the gigabyte motherboard shuts it down. It looks like the motherboard is fine but another power supply problem.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: -Very cheap, decent PSU given it's price point...

Cons: -Died after only a few months of non overclocked PC use. System power draw was 150w less at max output than this PSU, and it still died.
This PSU will NOT LAST LONG given it's price it seems to have made a sacrifice for durability. The thing is, other PC parts you can get away with this, do not go cheap in this case, get a better PSU, failing PSUs can damage your system, so you want reliabiltiy above all....this PSU unfortunately does not have it.

Other Thoughts: -Support will likely posty their copy + paste response, but they have shown to not be helpful if actually contacted.

3 out of 5 eggsRisky PSU, for Light Use Only

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: -Good price
-80 Plus Bronze
-Quiet
-Good number of connectors

Cons: -Unstable power delivery, not for intense use (see other thoughts)
-Cables aren't well sleeved (but what can you expect at this price point

Other Thoughts: Running Folding@home on my GTX 660 (100% gpu usage) for a few months I noticed mild coil whine from the GPU but thought nothing of it. Eventually the GPU became unstable under any load and had to be RMA'd.
I recently upgraded my PSU to a Corsair CX750 and had a chance to compare the PSUs side by side. Under benchmarking load the CX750 exhibited loud coil whine, so I replaced it with this PSU. Under the same benchmarking load the GTX 660 that was quiet with the CX750 suddenly had coil whine again.

Long story short this PSU might be okay for gaming, but under 100% load the power delivery of this PSU could eventually cause serious damage to your system components. Don't skimp on your PSU, it can end up causing way more trouble then its worth.

4 out of 5 eggsPSU

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: strong enough to run a gtx 760 gpu with a fx-8320 and liquid cooler and don't run hot at all

Cons: its non modular witch means you'll have wires running everywhere in your case

Other Thoughts: aside from your case not looking as sleek as you might like it works great

5 out of 5 eggsGood so far.

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: Price plus MIR
Bronze certified

Cons: screw holes didn't line up exactly with my cabinet.

Other Thoughts: Waited to write review till I received rebate, which I did receive last week. Only using this in an old build used only for surfing the net and occasional Streampix video. Old power supply died after 7 years. Computer kept rebooting in an endless loop. Went online and found most probable cause was bad power supply. Problem was sporadic for couple weeks, then was continuous problem.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Power Supply in this Price Range

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: 1) Its hard to find an 80 Bronze Certified Power Supply with 630W in this price range
2) Decent length wiring
3) Feels solid
4) Cords are lined with a Nylon Sleeve that starts from the inside of the supply
5) 2 Year Warranty

Cons: 1) Would of preferred only 2 connectors on the same wire and put the additional connectors on their own set of wiring
2) Modular would be nice but for the price, you really cant complain

Other Thoughts: It is really hard to beat getting a 80 Bronze Certified Power Supply with 630w for less than $60. Some people may be nit picking this supply to death but how can you for this price unless it is DOA.

1 out of 5 eggsBad PSU Don't Buy

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: Powers a computer ok.

Cons: Will NOT stay on and power my AntMiner, even with the motherboard connector jumpered. So... Doesn't do what I bought it to do: supply power. You had one job! FAIL. I will avoid Rosewill in the future. A good power supply should like, supply power.

4 out of 5 eggsCould have been more green..

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: Works as advertised.
Looks decent enough and cables are plenty long for a mid tower.

Cons: Their was a ton of plastic in the packaging. How do you advertise green when you ship with that much plastic?

Other Thoughts: Still a great PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet!

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: Very quiet! Powers my GTX 770 no sweat. Small physical size fits in the BitFenix Prodigy case easily and cables are long enough but not overly long. Mesh keeps wires manageable without adding a lot of extra bulk. Has all the connections you need and none you don't!

Cons: None so far. Will re-review if it dies early.

Other Thoughts: Might not have long enough cables for some cases, especially if you go with a full tower. But then, if you are building a mid/full tower I personally would go modular. Works perfectly for Prodigy case though where space is a premium.
