5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: -single 12v rail with 50a
-Great Price when I bought it during the black friday sale
-80 Plus Bronze certified
-Very capable psu
-Plenty of connectors for me
-Cables are not too stiff like I've seen on some PSU's
-Cables are plenty long for my case

Cons: -Not modular but that isn't a deal breaker for me
-Just nit picking now but it would be nice if the 6pin and 2 pin connectors on the 6+2 pin pcie cable would stick together rather than having to try and hold them together just right to plug it in as an 8 pin on your GPU

Other Thoughts: This PSU powers all this wonderfully

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't have the longevity I expected!

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: Quiet, long cables for bottom install.

Cons: Only lasted a year and a half, with standard use. 1 burner 1 HD 1 Video card. I expected more from this Power Supply

Other Thoughts: Price was ok at the time but quality appeared ok, I think it should have lasted longer. I have cheap Power Supplies that are 6 - 8 years old still going strong

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: Low price for a decent PSU. Bronze rated so it's not to bad on the energy side. Enough cables for a standard build.

Cons: Not modular and pretty low wattage. You might have to change it if you plan on upgrading your build.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Power Supply

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: Rosewill, inexpensive

Cons: Does not work as advertised

Other Thoughts: I bought 5 of these for new systems I am building and the first 3 failed to power up a system that draws 380 watts according to my kill-a-watt. My 530 watt Rosewill powered them up fine. Newegg was great as usual and issued RMA's without question. I have bought a great many Rosewill power supplies in the past and will continue to do so. I assume there is just a mismatch or a bad batch.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

3 out of 5 eggsFailed after just over 3 years

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: For the price, it had an exceptionally good power output.
Mesh sleeve on cables

Cons: Purchased March of 2011 and it failed May 2014.

Other Thoughts: This unit powered my computer almost constantly for just over 3 years. The first two years it served as my main PC that I would game on, watch movies, played around with overclocking and all the typical stuff. Then this last year it was converted to a surveillance unit and would sit recording surveillance footage until the PS failed.

I still have power supplies from 8 or so years ago that ran for 4-5 years almost continuously and are still running strong. So a 3 year life span has me wary of going with this product again.

1 out of 5 eggsNot recommended

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: Cost is good, reliability no so good.

Cons: First one I had caused computer to drop out out of the box. returned and now the second one is tripping the voltage surge on my second build after a year. Not sure what the issue is, not related to load on computer, doesn't seem to be overheating, just throws a spike and the gigabyte motherboard shuts it down. It looks like the motherboard is fine but another power supply problem.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W Continuous @40°C,80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single 12V Rail, Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7,i5" Power Supply

Pros: -Very cheap, decent PSU given it's price point...

Cons: -Died after only a few months of non overclocked PC use. System power draw was 150w less at max output than this PSU, and it still died.
This PSU will NOT LAST LONG given it's price it seems to have made a sacrifice for durability. The thing is, other PC parts you can get away with this, do not go cheap in this case, get a better PSU, failing PSUs can damage your system, so you want reliabiltiy above all....this PSU unfortunately does not have it.

Other Thoughts: -Support will likely posty their copy + paste response, but they have shown to not be helpful if actually contacted.
