Pros: Works great and enclosure is very quite. Looks good.
Well built. Can turn off fan if not needed on all the time.

Cons: Very bright blue LED's light up my room at night!

Other Thoughts: Great Product, Works well as intended. I have it on 24 hours a day and even with the fan off the enclosure dissipates heat well, probably will depend on the hard drive you insert but overall a good design. Unplug the LED to fix the issue of lighting my room at night when trying to sleep was an easy thing to do. If you can install the hard drive in the enclosure you should easily be able to trace the LED wire to the plug on the board.

Pros: Works well with Server 2008 R2 Ent / Std also W7 64 pro also Windows Server 2003 SMB

Installed USB internal port on servers and works like a charm.

Average is around 75MBps actual MB not 7.5mbps

Reliable, have been running one of these for over a year, no faults or lockups.

VERY silent fan. Can't hear it running even with my ear to it, but you can obviously see it moving.
Doesn't get hot at all.

Cons: Blue light is very bright in dark rooms.

Other Thoughts: Has option to turn off Fan via switch? I guess if your office is too cold you could warm up your drive by turning it off? Other then that I don't see why one would want to turn off the silent fan.

Pros: Cooling fan, pretty lights, USB 3.0 interface.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's worth noting that you won't get the max transfer speeds of USB 3.0 if you combine this with a mechanical HDD. The 5Gb/s transfer speeds equals out to 625MB/s, and most single SSD's aren't capable of writing/reading that fast. With a single average mechanical drive, the highest number you'd likely see in terms of transfer rates will be around 120MB/s - at which point you are reaching the physical limitations of the hard drive and not the USB 3.0 interface.

Pros: Works well when reading/writing data from hdd.

Cons: Confusion about the blue led light status. Different than the usb2/e-sata version. I still have slight doubts until I read other reviews about this blue light situation.

Comments: I have many of the Rosewill RX-358 V2 BLK enclosures and all work very well. The Model RX-358-U3B both led blue lights stay on all the time. The blue activity light will flicker once in a while during hdd activity but when the hdd is sitting idle both lights are on. Although this unit functions as it should reading and writing data to the hdd I believe it's defective because of both led light remaining on at all times. What do you think? Thank you.

The newer Integrated Chips used within the RX-358-U3B and RX-358-U3C and possible to the rest of the RX-358 enclosure family now no longer support the HDD activity light. Both front lights will stay static. The issue you are receiving is normal.

Pros: Sturdy. Improved speed over older UBS 2 enclosures (backups went from 15-20MB/s to 60-70MB/s). Very quiet fan. I have 3, they have been running on and off for over a month now without any issues (physical or stability).

Cons: Had to gently "persuade" my WD Green Caviar disks to line up to the 4 screw holes. In one of 3 enclosures, I was unable to get the 4th screw in.
The provided cable is short (about 3ft) - check if you need a longer one while you're ordering.

Other Thoughts: Did the job without any deal-breaker issues. The blue LED's are _bright_.

Pros: Built solid, easy to install, had the 2.0 for two years with no problems whatsoever and the 3.0 are fast to. Oh, and I had all the screws to.

Cons: None and don't expect any.

Other Thoughts: I've had the Rosewill 2.0 (RX-358 V2) since 2/25/09 and they have worked flawlessly, not one problem at all. So needless to say when Rosewill came out with the 3.0 I just had to get two of these. They have been on since I've gotten them, about a week now, and so far not one problem. I took my 2 drives, which were internal and put them in the 3.0 enclosure, 500gig each and even though I have USB 2.0 on my motherboard, these have worked without a hitch. Had to transfer files and again, not a problem. One thing you do have to get used to and that is both lights being on. I'm used to the 2.0 and only one light being on. By the way, these lights are a little bit brighter than my modem lights so they don't bother me at all, I kinda like them myself. I figured that if I ever have to replace my motherboard and it has USB 3.0 which it probably will, I'm already there. I've bought quite a lot of things from Newegg and Rosewill and in all honesty, THEY BOTH ROCK.

Pros: Keeps a hot hard drive cool, sturdy construction, USB3.0, can fit a 4TB HDD.

Cons: Tight fit for a 4TB HDD, LEDs are annoyingly bright. May have to put tape over them because they are of no use to me.

Other Thoughts: A 4TB Seagate GoFlex desk drive will fit inside this inclosure. The drive would get up to 145F in original external enclosure (may have gotten hotter if I didn't allow it to cool down). With this enclosure, it does not get hotter that 85F.

Pros: No clue.

Cons: Completely lacking all screws. The side panels weren't even secured. And since none of the screws I have will fit, I now have to hunt down the right-sized screws. Last Rosewill product I'll buy, since the lack of screws is very common with their products.
