Pros: None

Cons: Worked intermittently at first. Now it fails to recognize drive at all. I suspect it has to do with the drive connectors not making good contact.

Other Thoughts: I would return it, but I got it for free and return shipping is more than its worth:(

Pros: Does exactly what you would expect it to
Quick and easy swapping between drives

Cons: Disks get a bit hotter than normal sitting in this thing. For short uses it's perfect but anything over say an hour and you're risking damage.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't personally buy one of these but I got one free with a HDD I purchased. For free there really is nothing to complain about.

Pros: They were moving these out for a reason.

Cons: Pure garbage. Bought three on special. One worked, two went back on RMA. Two came back, one worked. Tossing the third one in the garbage as it's far to much hassle, even with ShopRunner free return. I would cost NewEgg and ShopRunner money on purpose if I thought it was their fault.

Other Thoughts: This is a junk product. If you find this part number in a search for Open Box or Refurb, avoid it like the plague. It's showing discontinued now to me as I write this review, so that is positive.

Pros: Works.

See other thoughts.

Cons: Keeps hard drives vertical. And therefore heats em up. I lost two hard drives already when they overheated. I don't need to have 100 dollar hard drives burning up in these things.

Other Thoughts: They are best left turned off after you have your good PC Backup and system image otherwise you will burn up the hard drives in them.

Because of that I started using a enclosure that keeps the drives horizontal and cools them.

Pros: Eject button
Power Button on back, not easy to push in, so not "whoops" moments
Activity LED is noticeable, but not distracting
2.5 or 3.5 drives
Win 7 sees it instantly
Good price ($20 normally, could see it on shocker at times)

Cons: None, really

Other Thoughts: Very pleased with this unit. I swap drives out of it quite a bit, have had no problems.

Pros: This docking station is very sturdy and also does not slide around. Using 2.5" drives is a breeze and even though there is an eject button, if you choose not to use it you can still pull the drive out.

Cons: I have found that when putting in full sized drives that you have to align it perfectly otherwise it will not make a good connection and will not be seen. Once aligned and turned on though it stays put and there are no further issues.

Other Thoughts: I like the fact that it has a power button on the back. The light on the top is to show hdd activity as well as power. Always be sure to turn the power off at the base before removing the hdd.

We have tested many Hard Drives with the RX-DU101 Docking Station and the vertical mounting of the HDDs will not affect the HDD's performance or life span.

Please check the following:
1. Run the HDD Manufacturer's Disk Diagnostic on the drive to scan for any potential failures or bad clusters.

When done accessing docked HDD in RX-DU101:
1. Safely disconnect it from the OS
2. Turn off the power to the RX-DU101 dock by flipping the rocker switch on the rear of the unit
3. Wait 10-15 seconds for the mounted HDD to spin and shut down
4. Press the Eject button to disconnect the mounted HDD
5. Safely physically remove the HDD from the RX-DU101 docking slot.
If you are still having file corruptions with the RX-DU101 dock, test it with another HDD. You can also test the HDD with the file corruptions by installing it directly into your computer's motherboard to see if the file corruptions are still occurring.

Pros: sweet to use if you have multiple hard drives of different sizes.

Cons: The usb connection has broken already on this unit. It does have year warranty on it, but dang did not expect this already... Garbage?
