3 out of 5 eggsSame model--different product

Pros: No branding on the surface.

Cons: Rosewill switched this media from the great CMCMAG BA3-000 to the mediocre Philip R04-000. If the Philip media works for you, great, but you can usually buy it for less than these Rosewill discs.

Other Thoughts: It would nice if they would change the name or model number of the discs when they switch to a different vendor. Reviews become useless when the product is not consistent.

4 out of 5 eggsGood discs at a low price

Pros: Low price, good quality. I'm on my 5th pack of these and they work well.

Cons: One coaster out of 215 discs burned so far. Only 23.4GB not 25GB

1 out of 5 eggsdid not work

Pros: cheap at the time

Cons: did not work

Other Thoughts: These discs did not work for me at all.

Relevant facts:

- Bought them >1 year ago, left the package shrink-wrapped in a climate controlled space within operating temperatures.
- Opened it about a week ago, none of the discs were recognized by my LiteOn BD-R drive.
- To verify the drive and software weren't the sources of the problem, I bought a cheap 10-pack of another brand's equivalent product, which worked fine.
- I initially contacted Rosewill tech support, as has been suggested in other 1-star reviews, but they could not help because the purchase date places it out of warranty. They did state, in closing, that they stand behind their products and customers.
- Even if it had been under warranty, I doubt a product replacement of the same model would have helped. So I am chalking it up as a loss and have decided to go the external HDD route instead.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill 25GB 4x BD-R Silver Disc

Pros: Price is good on sale. Just as good as any Phillips/Ritek disc I've bought. Work well with both my Lite On burners, and my LG burner as well. No coasters. Writes at 4X reliably.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I've not had an issue with a single one of these Rosewill 2X BD-R discs. Since I only record at 4X, that is probably why. I'm not a big fan of the shiny silver finish, but it hasn't been much of an issue so far. I would rather put out the money for these, than the 6X BD-25 Optical Quantums. The Rosewill discs will work.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: Every single disc has worked! I'm on my 5th pack!

Cons: Not really a issue, but the tops are sensitive to finger prints/oils

Other Thoughts: Buy a DVD marker for these, I really feel these are going to be around for a long time.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, appear to burn properly.

Cons: Burned many disks, all seem to work well, with decent software. (the first utility that I tried had issues) It was probably 6 months later that I wanted data off of some of them. More than one disk had corrupted files. I cannot say for sure if it was a disk problem, or a burner/software problem. I suppose that if it is really important you might make more than one copy.

Other Thoughts: Honestly anymore, hard drives are inexpensive enough that it is probably generally better to just stock up on them instead.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat item, great price

Pros: I've bought these Rosewill discs every time and have yet to have a single coaster. The price of these come out to less than $1 a piece and it's even better if you can catch them on sale.

Cons: None so far

2 out of 5 eggsCheap and Not Full Reliable for Archives

Pros: Inexpensive sets of disc. Good for sharing data. Unrecorded surface looks like a plastic mirror.

Cons: Coasters are likely to happen when you use these sets. Cheap and offers limited physical protection to protect your data. Not perfect for data archives. Error are most likely to detect with Nero Scan disc software, because they are made cheap.

Other Thoughts: I used these media's and I've done a disc surface scan test after I've burned the disc, using the Nero disc surface scan and some of the disc have been reported to have bad sectors already. I have two disc that has failed to even format, I had to destroy the disc and throw it away; because I was using them to store my archives. Use the Nero free tools to perform a surface scan. That software will tell you the truth. If you want to use these as data backups or archives I don't recommend this brand. If you do movies and you need blu-ray disc to share data then go for it.
