3 out of 5 eggsFor a BIG BOY system

Pros: Just what the doctor ordered for a HUGE dual processor system, and a 980 ti video card.
Has a button for 100% fan usage. I love it !!! I wish all HP power supply used this over 700 watts.
Great HD wiring. VERY happy about that too. Don't listen to other people, no flat wires at this level of playing.

Cons: This thing is noisy fan!! With the fan at 100% is pretty noisy. Not intolerable, but quite noisy.
This thing weighs a ton.
Pricing is way to high for this unit.
Gets pretty hot too. I run this backwards so the fan faces OUTSIDE the case.

Other Thoughts: Next time I am buying 2 800's rather than buying this.
I feel very strongly they waste money on a fancy metal case that houses the unit for shipping. That case is costing customers a fortune !!

5 out of 5 eggsJust Wow!

Pros: Very satisfied customer, here.

This product is quality from top to bottom. The case is very attractive aluminum - well padded to absorb shocks on the way to the house. The fan is whisper quiet. The PSU seems to add very little heat load inside the case, despite being capable of 1600W.

Modular, packs enough power and comes with plenty of cables and connectors to feed even a server setup with mutiple CPUs. It's mild overkill on my rig, but isn't overkill what building your own rig is all about?

Looks good, and has enough threaded holes on the back panel to mount SOLIDLY to the case, so no fan rattles or vibration noises.

Cons: Nothing major.

Other Thoughts: The PSU was well worth what I paid ($250 refurbished), but there were a couple minor points.

1) There is a small LED mounted close to the edge on the rear of the unit that prevented me from installing it right-side-up in my ATX case without having to drill a small hole in the case.

2) There is a 6-pin cord hard-wired onto the PSU that served no purpose on my build but to take up extra space and made for a slight hassle when trying to tuck all my cords out of sight. Isn't the point of a modular PSU to eliminate those hassles? Why have anything but the 24-pin main motherboard supply cord hardwired?

Those are pretty minor gripes, and not enough to knock this down to 4 eggs.

Heavily recommended for anyone who wants to run multiple GPUs for gaming or parallel computing, or someone building a home media server or professional video or 3D workstation. Especially if you can get it for what I paid.

I've been a Corsair guy for decades, but if/when I eventually do another build I'll probably go with a Rosewill case and power supply based on the quality of this product.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!

Pros: Easy to use, comes with everything you need to power a monster computer. Comes in a sleek carrying case that my daughter immediately re-purposed as a makeup kit.

Cons: Very large and heavy.

Other Thoughts: Guys, this power supply is awesome. I am extremely happy with this purchase, so worth every penny!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent 1600 Watt Power Supply!

Pros: I'm using 3 of these PSUs with no problems whatsoever. The onboard braided-cables look great. Each PCI-E cable has two 8-pin plugs. I'm using this PSU on a two 3-Way setups (SLI and CrossfireX) and on one Quad-GPU (CrossfireX) setup. The unit provides steady power under overclocking and Folding@home situations. This is one of the best power supplies I have ever used, and the price is excellent! The manual fan-switch is a total plus! The accident plastic switch casing on the power switch is a great idea.

Cons: It's a long box, so maybe a shorter version can be made for smaller chassis?

Other Thoughts: I'll probably purchase a fourth one for my next GTX 980 Ti SLI build.

5 out of 5 eggsComeplete Burnout? You Need To Quit Saying Stupid Stuff On Other PSU Reiews, Just Because You Work With Another Company, Or Are A Complete Moron :3

Pros: There isn't a single thing about this PSU that is lower than above-average-grade quality... I got open-box and had to rma it, but I am getting another one once the rma money is back :). The first was defective, but that's my fault for getting it open-box... A price for being cheap...

Cons: Only one thing, annoying people commenting about things that aren't true #BurnoutMy***

Other Thoughts: So. The reason this isn't a "total burnout :O" is because it isn't always at 1600w unless you require that much power "it's almost completely modular!" It means that if you require a constant 1590w's for your system to run at what it wants to max, then it can run at 1600W+ without losing wattage or power consumption, otherwise you would lose performance for a split second or if its a big power failure drop, then it would cause a crash, but it is guaranteed that you will never go under 1600w's unless you don't demand that much power... I seen benchmarks get to over 2000w's+ with this AWESOME PSU... but you can stay at a stable 1600w's+ or go overboard if you need to, but the guarantee is for 1600w's with no drop if required or forced...

5 out of 5 eggsGood 'n clean power!

Pros: Been running this supply for a year with no problems on two systems. Easily powered 4x overclocked GTX 480 cards and a 980X on a E762 EVGA Classified board, and then two GTX 780 Hydro Coppers and a 5960X on a X99 Classified board. The 480's overclocked was the true test there. Powering those inefficient monsters was incredible, but this supply did it with ease on it's single super-beefy 12v rail! The unit is very laid back and quiet with the newer cards. If you need serious power, look no further.

Cons: Doesn't have the awesome metal connectors like the Rosewill 1300W Lightning model, but there probably wouldn't be room on the supply considering how many cables it accommodates.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: If you are looking for a PSU to power your next high-end build, look no further. This will set you up for the next 5+ years.

Cons: The 'metal' box it comes in. It is almost like they expect you to carry this around with you. Its nice to store all the extra cables in, but kind of bulky. It reminds me of the old Morpheus geforce 3's that would ship in wooden boxes.

Other Thoughts: Rosewill does not seem to advertise this unit much. I had to do a lot of researching on different power supplies before I stumbled across the Hercules.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill Hercules 1600 Power Sopply

Pros: Cant touch it for the money. Cant touch it for any amount of money.

Cons: None; unless your one of the other companies who make Power Supplies!

Other Thoughts: Awesome power supply. Has the best components you can put in a power supply, aside from being Silver and not gold. Though at this writing, Rosewill did not Make a Gold "Hercules 1600", or I would have purchased one!

4 out of 5 eggsGood so far, Missing parts though

Pros: Easy setup and simple to use. Cables are heavy duty and stiff which with that much power going through them is good. Very happy with overal setup.

Cons: Two ouf ot my five boxes that I ordered did not have power cords in them. Strange and I assume to be a manufacturer oversight. Sucks though since they are not typical power cords but heavy duty gauge and not easy or cheaply replaced.

Other Thoughts: Tried to RMA just to have two more power cords sent but Newegg only has the option to return the two boxes completely, which I would rather not do but do not see any choice at this time.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete Burnout........Literally...

Pros: High wattage power supply
Lots of PCI-E and other ports to use
Automatic power protection
On/Off Button
On/Off Turbo Fan Button

Cons: Continuous Power.... Never stops running at 1600w (if you like it then thats your preference)
Not fully modular.
No flat wires to save space, good wiring but leaves a mess in your PC.
Burns alot of power.... Lot of heat from it...

Other Thoughts: I have had 2 of these units and both of them had the same EXACT problem.. It literally went on fire. Good thing for the automatic shut down feature because I was not home.. I came home to a burning smell and noticed my pc was off and red light on the unit. I opened up my PC to see what the problem was and went to fire her back up and fire started coming from the ports while inside my tower. I had to rip out the power cord and put my hand in and quickly pull out all connected power cords before they melted. It was completely burnt out and just fried. Ton of smoke started coming from the unit. It was running completely fine before that happened and I thought it was a great PSU so I requested RMA for a new unit and this time it happened again while I was home, the SAME EXACT problem, this time I had it for a month or or, not as long as the first one. There was absolutely no reason for this to happen. 1600w PSU and my build is the following:

1. ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard with 3-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support and UEFI BIOS

2. AMD FX-9590 Vishera 4.7GHz/5.0GHz Turbo, Socket AM3+ 220W Eight-Core Desktop Processor - Black Edition FD9590FHHKWOX with Liquid Cooling Kit

3. G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

4. SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE1T0BW 2.5" 1TB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive

5. Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

6. LG Black 14X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 12X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA BDXL Blu-ray Burner, Bare Drive, 3D Play Back (WH14NS40) - OEM

7. 3x GPUs:
A. SAPPHIRE 100350GAMESR Radeon HD 7990 6GB 384-Bit x2 GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
B. SAPPHIRE 100351SR Radeon HD 7970 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card OC with Boost
C. SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100351VXSR Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

With a build like that, and that type of PSU I should have not had a problem. I had originally put in a Lepa 1600w Modular PSU and changed it for this one and it was a big mistake. I should have kept the Lepa. But that is my opinion and this was my experience with this PSU. Spent $400 for a PSU to go on fire :(
