1 out of 5 eggsAvoid like the plague!

Pros: Not a one.

Cons: Dead after 2 months, power supply still puts out but the hub won't power up so I have a 3 slot usb hub that looks nice but is a floater.

Other Thoughts: too bad this goes into the trashcan with better garbage.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Works great! If your PC is hard to get to this baby helps a lot.

Cons: This could be a con: the USB cable isn't super long... I ended up using a cable from an old external that I had... So no problems for me..

Other Thoughts: I really only use 6 of the ports and im pretty sure you don't need the external power connected if you don't use ports 7-10... Just a thought.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as Expected

Pros: -Good Value
-10 Ports
-Powered
-Does pretty much every thing you expect
-Wall Mountable

Cons: -Wall Mount screw holes are extremely tiny making it nearly impossible to find decent screws that will work and actually hold for a wall
-Bright LEDs
-Large power adapter for such low power

Other Thoughts: Purchased two of them on sale to place on the wall below wall mounted TVs for two HTPCs, they work perfectly for connecting my various wireless keyboards, BT dongles, Xbox 360 controllers, etc.

The holes for the screws are nearly microscopic, local big chain hardware store only had one screw longer than 1/4" to mount them.

One of these is mounted in my room directly in front of where I sleep and the two blue LEDs are incredibly bright when I am sleeping, I figure I will have to fix that with some masking tape.

2 out of 5 eggs7-port hub, really

Pros: Multiple ports, ability to mount to some surfaces.

Cons: OK, we know that 500ma is the average power supplied to a USB port (like on your PC), and that many current peripherals take advantage of that, leaving us to need powered hubs like this. Add that Newegg includes a 3.5A (A=Amps/Amperage) power supply which can only really handle seven ports, plus they add a button to the hub to shut off the remaining ports, and we can take it for granted they acknowledge what ports ought to be supplied with.

So...why make a 7-port hub into a 10-port hub if you can't use all the ports? If you flip the switch, you take a properly powered 7-port hub, and underpower many, if not all of those seven devices to the point they won't function properly, if at all. Really, the added ports are useless in that situation unless all you have on the hub are mice. The fact is that many modern devices we would plug into a powered hub will draw more power because they are designed to take advantage of the standard. Yet, Newegg assumes you won't use all the ports at once, which is the selling point of a hub like this, so they save a bit by including a lesser power adapter.

Other Thoughts: What's funny here is that there is another hub here touted as being a 7-port hub, with a switch to turn off three ports, and it comes with a 2A adapter. If only Newegg supplied that with the adapter included here, that one would be a great buy. Otherwise, if you have, or can find, another 5A adapter with the same polarity/diameter plug as the one here, this 10-port version could be worth owning, but just not as cheaply.

5 out of 5 eggsHuge, but small. A+

Pros: 10 ports, and 4 are switchable to off if not in use. Comes with power adapter. Compact. Windows sees Connect/Disconnect right away, no lag.

Cons: Adapter is big.

Other Thoughts: I have been having issues with a cheap 7 port hub losing my devices, and not passing signals. This was installed in Win 7 before I had placed it down on my desk after plugging in the USB. Works real well, no signal, or loss issues.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Immediately recognizes in Win7HP - didn't even have to wait for it to detect and install, it just magically worked right away at boot (my keyboard is plugged into this hub and I was able to start typing my password right away when Windows came up). Very compact size, no bigger than it needs to be.

Cons: Power cord is about 4 feet, USB cable is about 3 feet. Blue LED's may be considered "bright" by some peoples standards if you are looking straight at them but at an angle they're fine.

Other Thoughts: Holes on back for vertical or horizontal mounting - screws not included.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this thing

Pros: heavy, doesn't slide around

Cons: usb and power cords cord could be longer

Other Thoughts: I have to post a 5 star review on this thing because i absolutely love it and have never had a problem. I have some cheaper rosewill ones and they didn't seem to work as well. I am running windows 7 64bit on an i7k 2600k. My machine works great; so not sure if other reviewers have junky machines and for some reason their windows install is corrupt, or hardware is old and therefore doesn't work well with this 10-port.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat for about 3 minutes...

Pros: 10 Ports ?

Cons: Windows will recognize this but will never pick it up as an actual Hub...

tried on several PCs and 2 Macs with no better results.

Absolute JUNK!!!

Other Thoughts: wish i could have my money back but waited way to long to install it.
