5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU - 3 years old

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M – 750-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply – Continuous @ 122 Deg. F (50C), 80PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire Ready

Pros: I bought this thing in 2012, it's been working non stop since then in a rather dusty environment.
Silent and the noise level stayed the same.
Nothing more to say, it's a PSU. You just put it in there and then forget about it, it's supposed to keep working. This one does just that.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: One of the few original components still inside the box. Since 2012 I replaced the graphics card twice (both killed by dust) and several fans including the CPU fan (again because of the dust).
I also replaced the original HDD with a SSD and another HDD of higher capacity.
Still there: the CPU (i7-3770) and 2 sticks (8G each) of G.SKILL Trident X memory

5 out of 5 eggsLooks amazing

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M – 750-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply – Continuous @ 122 Deg. F (50C), 80PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire Ready

Pros: Its modular, gold certified and was only 93 dollars.

Cons: it was slightly longer than my old one, so i had to move my DVD drive in order to get the cables in, even doing that it was a tight fit. Definitely a problem for expansion but i should really be getting a new case anyway.

Other Thoughts: Hope it doesnt break suddenly in like a week like some other reviews ive read on here, keeping the box just in case lol.

2 out of 5 eggsDead after 2 months

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M – 750-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply – Continuous @ 122 Deg. F (50C), 80PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire Ready

Pros: Superflower manufacturer
great reviews from johnnyguru
good performance for the 2 months.

Cons: Dead after 2 months
Did not have a replacement for item i had or an ETA on if/when there would be.
Tried to offer replacements that weren't even in the same league of PSU's -
Photon series (sub par manufacturer and production quality compared to Capstone series)
Xtreme series Bronze rating (laughable)
And non modular version which is helpful at all.

Other Thoughts: Overall, could have been a good buy, dying after 2 months with no warning or over stress no good, luckily it didnt fry any of my other new shiny components (that i know of yet.)

4 out of 5 eggsFinicky, but runs

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M – 750-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply – Continuous @ 122 Deg. F (50C), 80PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire Ready

Pros: -Quiet
-Cool
-More than enough power to run my system
-Module

Cons: After about 2 years this thing seems to be about dead on me. It may be to the conditions in my room(hot & dusty) or it may just be an age thing.

Other Thoughts: The reason I think it's the PSU that's dying on me and not some other unit is this. When ever I first build my rig(Nov. 2012) I noticed that my system would occasionally lock up. Usually while playing World of Tanks. Didn't think much of it, thought it was a simple software conflict. Stopped playing WoT and it stopped happening except for maybe once or twice a month, not like the daily occurrence it was.

Well within the past few weeks I've been playing CSGO a lot and noticed it's happening again. System is locking up and I'm forced to do a hard reset. As of Sunday night while playing CSGO my monitors will both go black for about half a second and audio will loop. Telling me that my system isn't getting enough power.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat modular Power Supply!

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M – 750-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply – Continuous @ 122 Deg. F (50C), 80PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire Ready

Pros: Nice modular design with a 750 watt Gold Rated power supply!

I used to only buy Corsair power supplies but gambled on this after it received a SILVER star award from Hardocp!

Have been running this unit for over 6 months without a single problem!

Is modular where it counts and has very nice round cables that don't crack when placed on Hard Drives of Optical Drives!

These power supplies have a 5 year warranty which is tough to beat!

Nice black look with a 140mm fan that very quite!

Has held up well and uses some high quality capacitors as well!

This go's to show you that not all the cheaper power supplies are bad products!

This replaced a non modular Corsair 750 watt bronze that just had too many extra cables to tuck away!

This seems like it will hold up well and has for the first 6 months! I would say it's passed it's break in or burn in period with flying colors!

Cons: None at this price point!

Other Thoughts: Sure it's not a Corsair but at this price point I can't find anything wrong with this power supply!

I was able to pick mine up for only $70 which is a excellent price!

I have used this with duel Sapphire R9- 270X Vapor X video cards and 6 hard drives along with 2 optical drives, a water cooler, and numerous case fans and it driven all these components without a single issue!

I'm glad I tried this out and will now be placing these in most new builds at the shop!

How can you beat a gold rated modular supply that costs $70 and can hold it's own against other supplies costing almost 3 times as much?

I personally think people get way to hung up on name brands and spend cash that they can put into a different internal part. A better video card or extra ram over a name brand power supply is a smart move to me.

I have worked in I.T. since 1994 and see no reason why this power supply should not be taken very seriously as Hardocp has given it a Silver star award which means a lot coming from them!

5 out of 5 eggsSilent Powerhouse

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M – 750-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply – Continuous @ 122 Deg. F (50C), 80PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire Ready

Pros: Semi-Modular design keeps wiring neat and tidy
Modular power outputs for up to 8 devices
Meshed cable sleeves
Plenty of power to spare
SLI ready
Runs silent
Looks great

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I opted to include the Rosewill Capstone 750-watt power supply in my latest ultimate gaming rig build mostly due to the semi-modular design, which kept cable management neat and tidy. The pre-xmas price point was another big factor in this choice, especially considering it's a 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold rated power supply for the price of a 500 Watt 80 Plus Bronze rated power supply.

Bottom Line:
More power than most rigs will need, leaving you the flexibility of adding devices in the future. Cable meshing is attractive and gives your computer that custom built look. Runs dead silent - no kidding.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M – 750-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply – Continuous @ 122 Deg. F (50C), 80PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire Ready

Pros: 750W, gold rated, mostly modular cables, braided cables, runs silent, doesn't complain when I play games.

Cons: It came in a really fancy box and made me feel like some of my other components are inadequate.

Other Thoughts: The connectors are so good, that you could use this PSU as a weapon, *in-case* someone assaults you.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost perfect!

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M – 750-Watt Modular, Active PFC Power Supply – Continuous @ 122 Deg. F (50C), 80PLUS Gold, ATX 12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, Intel Haswell, SLI & CrossFire Ready

Pros: Great price, Gold efficiency and modular. I got this to replace an older Rosewill Xtreme that had a lot of issues. This one worked flawlessly out of the box and is virtually silent. More power than what I need but leaves a good amount of room for expansion.

Cons: I would have liked the cables to be a bit longer but that's about it. Had no trouble reaching what I needed it to but would have been able to make things look neater.
