This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: manufactured by superflower
gold rated at 50C
semi modular
fan changes its speed based of temperature
1,200rpm 140mm fan manufactured by global fan
excellent voltage, ripple, stability, and strength
strong 62amp single 12v rail
meshed covered cables
the mesh is loose enough to allow for easy flexing of the cables but tight enough to protect and prevent pinching of the wires
affordable yet high quality
silicon covered ports
it uses all high quality japanese capacitors manufactured by nippon chemi-con.
it has a nice matte, black finish.
it doesn't have any logos or graphics on the sides.
the cables are of adequate length for any mid size and lower atx case. i personally have a cooler master haf xb evo and had no cable length issues what-so-ever.
lacks gimmicky features like "corsair link" and "echo mode"

Cons: it comes with two cpu power cables, but the second extra one is built in which is kinda annoying since it will go unused.

not a con at all with having the motherboard and cpu power cable built in since, you know, they have to be used, but the second extra cpu power cable should be modular.

cable length might be an issue for those rocking full size atx tower cases.

Other Thoughts: i purchased (from another major online retailer with free prime shipping) this unit (750-m capstone) after i read a few reviews from jonnyguru and techpowerup that reviewed this psu. they praised it highly and recommended it and finding out who its actually manufactured by it had me sold.

don't let a house brand fool you. even though rosewill is newegg's brand, this unit is not produced by newegg. rather, like corsair, evga, antec, cooler master, and such, its outsourced to a third party oem. this particular unit, and the entire capstone series, both modular and non, is manufactured by superflower. superflower is a top tier power supply manufacturer that produces some of the best power supplies you can get. you will find many of their units housed in brands such as antec, evga, pc power and cooling ,and the like.

its cheap not because of its quality, but rather because its a rebranded oem. it's quality is superb and equivalent in what you will find in more expensive units. since rosewill out sources it to a oem they are able to sell them at a cheaper price and they pass the savings onto us. the oem saves money because they get a fixed number of units they have to produce, don't have to worry about producing to many, don't have the worry about the packaging, customer support, warranty, and distribution. rosewill saves money because they don't have to worry about manufacturing and research and development. other companies like corsair and evga do the same exact thing as rosewill, except they don't pass on the savings and charge the same premium as if you purchased it by the oem manufacturer themselves.

coming over from a corsair ax850 to this I'm extremely impressed and pleased. I'm actually am more impressed with it than what I was with my corsair. it's is one of the best I have ever owned. I will definitely will look at rosewill again for my next psu purchase and highly recommend the capstone series to anyone looking for a rock solid psu.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's A Power Supply

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Hasn't been loud. It's semi-modular. It hasn't killed my system. It's 80+ Gold. Has enough cables for what I need. Cables are long enough.

Cons: Cables are ugly, but it doesn't matter because I use extensions so you can't see any of them. Nothing else really.

Other Thoughts: For some reason they included 2 wall plugs and 2 packs of zip-ties. So that was cool.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Product, Poor Rebate Service

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I bought this to replace a CORSAIR CX series CX750 power supply that extremely loud from what I determined to be be coil whine.

Pros:
- Relatively Quiet
- Semi-modular
- Good Warranty
- Solid Manufacturer (Super Flower)
- One of the cheapest 750W power supplies

Cons: - Some cables are on the short side
- Never received my rebate

Other Thoughts: I really like this product but I was very disappointed with the rebate service.
I never received my rebate because my submission was disqualified due to an invalid address. Apparently, they don't ship to PO Boxes. This is a problem for a few reasons:

1. My billing address is a PO Box
2. I can't receive mail at my rural location
3. No where that I saw did they state PO Boxes are invalid

Since every other rebate I filled out when I built this computer required the billing address, I mistakenly assumed that it would work for this one.

My system specs:
XFX 280x Black Edition
i5-4690k
Gigabyte GA-z97x-UD3H-BK
Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1866

4 out of 5 eggsJust a update from first review!

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I decided to add a second review to update my original and let people know how great this has been running!

Super stable, very quite, with nice cables that don't crack!
Very strong single 12v rail!

I now have it running two Sapphire Vapor X 270X R9's now and have not gotten a single blue screen since switching to this power supply!

Cons: Zero cons!

Quit your complaining about DOA units when every Power supply producer is guilty of this!

All electronics fail but after running them for 6 months or so you can usually expect them to last!

Remember, that if you are into over-clocking your CPU and your GPU you have a better chance of the power supply failing!

When you push any P.S.U. to it's max or beyond you risk it being pushed too far. It's simple electronics and nothing electronic is exempt from this LAW!

Other Thoughts: This is a comment to all the complaints on the DOA received supplies or supplies that fail while under warranty!

This supply has no more of a chance of failing than any other name brand supply!

Look it has a 5 year warranty so if it does fail RMA it!

I wish Newegg had the same option to leave comments like the other big venders reviewers can.

This power supply replaced a Corsair 750 Bronze that just had to many cables to tie up.

It has also run my system rock stable with "Zero" blue screens while being maxed out on it's 12v rail!

If these complainers would check the reviews of all the other name brand units, they would see that this supply fails at the same percentage as the more expensive name brand units!

I have worked in I.T. since back in 1994 and have used all the different Power Supply brands at one time or another with all my personal builds as well as server and workstation builds.

I have used Seasonic, Corsair, Evga, Cool Master, Rosewill, Aspire, PC Power and Cooling, and others over the years.

I do think that Seasonic has a certain solid feel to them that I do prefer but there cost is just to high!

Being able to buy a very good modular Gold 750 watt power supply for only $70 is just impossible to beat!

Look to all the complainers out there. Please wait until you get a working unit that's burned in before leaving negative remarks that lower the overall average on this Capstone line of P.S. units!

I understand the frustration of buying a DOA supply but it happens no matter what brand you buy!

Rosewill deserves to get better reviews and at there price point they deserve to be highly acclaimed for there fantastic price/performance rankings!

Look I understand that Rosewill is a generic Newegg brand but that does not mean that they are sub par units at all.

Just look at Dell and how they buy these mass produced units that have just enough power to get the job done.

Now these are Power Supplies that deserve to be reviewed in a negative way!

The Capstone series uses a really good single 12v rail as well as being a Gold rated unit that does not promise more than it can deliver!

I have this unit maxed out to about 725 watts at all times.
This at first had me worried but after running my duel R-9s 270x video cards along with 6 hard drives and two optical drives. I have seen first hand that this unit has some headroom above the 750watt max rating.

There is absolutely nothing different between running this Capstone or a top of the line Gold rated Corsair or Seasonic unit other than the price point!

I really hope more people will try these Rosewills out and understand that any supply can fail within the first month or so.

If you happen to get one that fails after a year then just RMA the unit and be happy.

Mine has just been running for as long as they have been available and it shows zero signs of failing at all. I have stress tested this supply!

I don't expect it to fail. Howev

4 out of 5 eggsFantstic Power Supply!

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Great heavy build quality
High quality internal components
Nice quite fan
Not too tall, with a longer design that's great for running 3 or 4 video cards!
5 Year warranty!
High AMPS on a single 12volt rail
Gold Rated at 90% +
4 and 1/2 solid eggs until I see how long this unit will last under a full load!

Cons: No cons! See other thoughts!

Other Thoughts: Well what can I say about this Rosewill brand? I used to stay well clear of any computer components that had the name Rosewill attached to them.

This is a bad perception to have as a hardware buyer for several small computer shops!

Back in 2011 I did a build for my best friend and allowed him to pick out some of the parts on the list with duplicates.

Such as Power Supply, Main motherboard, Memory!

he picked a Rosewill 640 watt Bronze rated P.S. with a single 12v rail. I warned him that it might not last.

Well it's now almost 4 years later and it's still going strong along with everything else in his build!

So when I saw this modular 750 watt for only $90 with a $20 rebate I simply figured why not give it a try.

Well this supply has been really, really, stable. It runs a Full Tower Sever with 6 hard drives, 2 optical drives, two Sapphire R9 270X video cards, Asus Zonar sound card, Antec 920 closed loop cooling system, and all the extra case and cooling fans for the 920 without any issues at all!

I think Rosewill gets a bad wrap and that they make some really great products.

Hey, the Corsair Bronze 750 was way more costly and had sata power plugs crack right out of the box!
The Corsair was not modular and it was so very nice not tucking away and zip ting all those extra cables I didn't need!

Keep it up Rosewill and you will get many more buyers :)

For all those Die Hard brand name P.S. users I used to be the same. Either a Seasonic or a Corsair was all I would run until I tried this Rosewill!

Well it's been running at nearly full capacity for 6 months or so and has not caused any troubles at all!

I highly recommend this power supply for anyone looking for a quality unit that can handle Cross-Fire or SLI for two cards with zero issues.

If you need to run 3 or 4 cards then the 1000 watt version would be a good choice.

4 out of 5 eggsRosewill Capstone 750-m

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Price/Performance

I bought his on sale. $83.99/free shipping.

It performs well. Silent, efficient.

Cons: CPU Line-Most of the cables were about the right length. The CPU line(s), seemed shorter than the one it was replacing.

Other Thoughts: I read a bunch of reviews on this unit to help be decide on what I really wanted in a PSU and the actual value.

This fit the bill. I didn't find many bad reviews at all. In fact, most the tech benchmarking sites gave this unit glowing reviews.

Rosewill is Newegg's "house" brand. This unit is made by Super Flower. I couldn't find much, but what I did indicated that they build very good products.

This is a step up in power, going from a Corsair cx500. I considered many "brands" before buying this one.

I put my multimeter on this unit and it stays steady on all three rails even under load.

It's modular. Enough said.

Warranty- 7 YEARS!! REALLY!! ( I think they know it's a solid unit)

Pros: none

Cons: DOA. never had a problem with rosewill, until this.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't even turn on, package seemed somewhat tight.. tighter than my hard drives came today ( pretty mad about that in fact...) No clue what happened. 3 Stars simply for Rosewill's quality name, still a bit disappointed. hope you guys have better luck cheers...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value and Quality

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Preparing to upgrade video cards so the 750W is plenty and 80 plus Gold is quite nice. Great value @ 49.99 with quality components.
It is also dead silent. Replaced generic PSU with a bit coil whine; can no longer tell if my computer is on when idle and cannot hear the psu over several Noctua fans when under load.

Cons: Quite long and made it a tight fit. I have a mid-size to smallish Asus case and it took quite a bit of work to get it in place as there isn't much clearance to drive.
Listed it as a con because the Rosewill website listed the PSU as 6.42 but the Newegg site has it correct at 6.69.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully Rosewill's 7 year warrenty means this PSU is meant to last, very happy with the product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value when on sale

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-750-M 750W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: The semi modular cables are great, don't pay the extra price for full modular, it's not necessary unless your making some kind of robot monster that doesn't use all those plugs.
This power supply can even be used in servers because it has 2 cpu power cables.

I've had this for 5 months now and it's worked great. My first one did fail after a few weeks and I had to RMA it, but since then this one has been fine.

Buy it when it's on sale. (don't buy computer parts in the summer)

Cons: Failed within 3 weeks had to RMA once.

Also the cables can be a bit stiff because of the strong casing around them and hard to twist around, then again you should try do twist them as little as possible so you don't damage them.

Other Thoughts: It sounds like RMAs are very common for power supplies so I don't hold that against the product.
