5 out of 5 eggsCheck the fan orientation!

Pros: Easy to assemble and install! e-SATA or USB interface! Temperature monitoring! Looks fantastic!

Cons: Thanks to the various reviewers mentioning the fact that their fans were installed backwards, I checked mine and found it was installed backwards as well. It's an easy procedure to uninstall it and reinstall it properly. Every fan has arrows on one side that show the direction of airflow and blade rotation.

Other Thoughts: I love this enclosure! I'll definitely be buying more and recommending it to my friends!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: works get as usb drive under 7, 8.1 and 10 OS. when using esata running windows 10 the system sees the drive in bios but the OS does not see the drive. Works fine as esata under windows 7

Cons: a little tight fitting the hard drive. unable to get more than 2 screws installed but it works to secure the drive

Other Thoughts: would purchase another if only to use as usb drive. Appears the issue is with windows 10 and how it uses esata. tried using multiple systems one with esata built into the mobo and one using esata backplane from sata port on mobo and OS did not see the drive, hopefully Microsoft will fix this.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything you want

Pros: Fan cooled, solid construction, includes everything you need, supports SATA III and large drives, temp and fan display.

Cons: Minor complaints: 1meter USB cord (I wish they would make it 1.5m). HDD light is on when drive is idle then turns off when drive is accessed (should be other way around). Really can only be used in vertical position due to display and lack of feet.

Other Thoughts: I've purchase several enclosures and this is the best ever by far. Large cooling fan with temperature sensor and variable speed based on temperature. Some fan noise, but not too bad at normal temps. Really solid case made from a single, thick aluminum extrusion. Temp and fan speed are displayed. Can be used with a USB 3.0 or SATA connector. Max transfer rate is 6 GBPS with SATA III and 5 GBPS with USB 3.0 (USB limitation, not the enclosure). Includes all cables and a SATA riser to get your spare internal SATA connector to the rear panel of your desktop. Even includes hard drive screws and a screwdriver. Really pappy with this product!

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: None

Cons: Worked for a short time, now the temperature control has failed, which controls the fan, so it quit.
Fan was installed backwards.
It lasted long enough for me to throw away the packing materials, so, according to their policy I'm stuck with junk.

Other Thoughts: Do not waste your time or money.
I didn't read the fine print on returns before purchase, my fault.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh.

Pros: Super quiet, easy to use, and USB3 while affordable.

Cons: regardless of the specifications on this page: NOT multi-bay!!!
The Fan MUST be turned around, otherwise your drive will run like a piece of bread in the toaster.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Rosewill Enclosure!

Pros: -Very Quiet (just a gentle whoosh of air you have to concentrate on to hear)
-Very Cool. My Green drive has yet to climb above 27 C!
-Excellent connection that truly operates at USB 3.0 speeds and does not drop out.
-Digital temperature readout and ability to set the warning level of the overheat alarm
-Excellent craftsmanship, brushed aluminum housing and very nice stand.

Cons: -As several others have said, the fan was backwards. The only reason I checked was due to other reviews. Come on guys, doesn't everyone realize looking at a fan what direction it blows? I had to unscrew it and turn around and reinstall.
-The power and SATA connectors are separate. This should have been a one unit housing that I could have slid the hard drive into.
*These are fairly minor though, and both combined only took one egg off.

Other Thoughts: I got this to add a network storage drive to attach to my router for quick access without dealing with my home server, which is more for backups, long-term storage and movie media.

My only gripe was assembly workers that have not been told which direction a fan blows.

Overall a very good piece of equipment I bought because of my excellent experience with the similar RX-358 U3C BLK and RX-358 V2 BLK both sold by Rosewill. of which I have a total of 4.

1 out of 5 eggsNot consistent

Pros: I ordered one for a 4TB drive. Worked beautifully. The built-in fan ensures that the drive is adequately ventilated and will not fail from overheating. Supposedly able to handle drives up to 6TB. Easy to setup. This initial experience, prompted me to buy another unit. I was ready to give it a 5 star rating but decided to hold from doing so, pending receipt of a second unit intended to house a 5TB drive.

Cons: Ordered a second one for a 5TB drive. Didn't work. Either the drive controller is defective or it's an older version. Very disappointed and made me waste a lot of time checking and rechecking my setup. Finally concluded that the drive enclosure was really defective.

4 out of 5 eggsNetwork Drive

Pros: Got this to make a Network Drive with. I needed something with a fan and connect to my computer with USB 6.0 for faster transfers. It also works on my Netgear router with USB 2.0. The fan keeps it really cool as temps run 30deg C. I have a 1Tb WD Black drive installed in it and use it as a Media Server for my TV. Been able to watch movies off of it all day with temps never exceeding 35deg C.

Cons: Little tricky to install in case. Would have preferred a one piece plug to connect the hard drive with instead of 2 cables.
First one I got had to RMA would drop data connection after less than 5 minutes of use.Tried different drives, different connections and even ran it out of the case. Knew it was the enclosure as everything would work fine in my hard drive dock.

Other Thoughts: I have Linux installed on a separate drive. The first one I got and tried to use it in the enclosure; half way through boot it would loose data connection and hang up. I have had no problems with the second one.
Newegg replaced the first one free of charge including shipping. The only problem with that was it took 2 weeks to get a return.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good

Pros: Got this for my xbox one to use an external drive (WD Black 2TB) since the internal xbox hard drive is slow and non upgrade-able. So far it has yet to disappoint. The temp readout on the front is really nice. Haven't seen temps higher than 23 degrees Celsius. The fan is quiet and seems to do the job. I know a lot of reviews on here criticize the quality control but the unit I received hasn't had any issues so far.

Cons: They mounted the fan the wrong way. Like another member pointed out, the fan is supposed to suck air in and discharge out the back of the enclosure. I checked this before installing my drive and found it to be installed wrong. Easy fix though. Just undo the screws and flip the fan around.

Other Thoughts: Rosewill makes good products for the price. I haven't had any issues with them and will continue to buy their products
