5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Excellent quality. I have computers that do not supply power through PS2 connections when turned off. This KVM has an input for external power which solves this problem. I like the manual switch as well as the key hotkey switching as well.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsKVM Switch

Pros: Small, come with cables, has a button switcher and can be keyboard switched also.

Cons: Switch does not seem to work with Laptops. My Gateway has a hard time showing up on the monitor and my day job consist of me setting up kvm switches so i have done this type of thing before.

Other Thoughts: good for PCs, not so for Laptops. Also should inclade a PS/2-to-USB adapter for PCs that only has Ps/2 for the keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsA Cut Above

Pros: Works as expected. We're using it on Linux (Ubuntu 10.4), XP and Win7 - works fine in all cases. Rock stable at 1600x1200. Very much like the idea of piggybacking the mouse and keyboard connections on a single sub-d connector as they come out of the back of the switch - makes for a less cluttered setup - effectively reduces the number of cables going from the switch to each pc by 2/3's.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: Should have bought this a couple years ago when we bought the first kvm switch... live and learn. [NewEgg rocks - 36 hrs from placing order to front door :-) don't know how they do it, but I'm sure not complaining.]

4 out of 5 eggsEssential for VGA/PS2

Pros: This thing has definitely come in handy lately. Where I work we recently began replacing all of our old Dell's with brand new custom made computers and, of course, we need to transfer a lot of information. Since all of the old computers are in one room, we don't need to hook up dozens of mice and keyboards, just one keyboard, one mouse, and one monitor :) Very useful indeed!

Cons: Does not support anything other than PS2 and VGA, so some newer computers may not be able to use this, period (at least not without spending 10 or more bucks on parts per computer)... That and I'm seeing an increasing trend of "we'll sell you this but refuse to provide you with this cord!" ... and honestly I'm getting sick of seeing that. -1 egg for supporting a power cable you don't get (and seemingly don't really need that much to begin with.).

Other Thoughts: Feels cheap and light but you really shouldn't need to mess with it much, especially if you tag the outgoing end of the cables. Just make a workstation for it, and if you need to plug a computer in, just screw in the tagged cord for the port you want. After that it's just tapping away at the little gray button~

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Right Out of the Box!

Pros: I have worked with KVM swithces for years and I have to say this one was a pleasure to install and is a pleasure to use. I particularly like the way the connections from the computers to the KVM are in the back on the unit with only the keyboard and mouse connections coming out the side.
My KVM is connected to a 10-year old Dell desktop, a 3-year old HP laptop, and a 1-month old HP laptop. Once the cables were connected, I was good to go.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: None.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE IT!

Pros: VERY solid, no problems with switching between systems.

ctrl-ctrl-# is the sequence you use, and let me tell ya, you get FAST at that sequence pretty quick!

Love the cables that come with it... the KB/Mouse PS2 cables being bundles inside the main cable and coming out the back of the video jack really keeps cable clutter down! And they are plenty long even if your video is far down your case (like in a low PCI slot) to reach.

Cons: None at all!

Other Thoughts: Didn't have a problem with my USB to PS2 adapter from my mouse...

My Logitech keyboard has a "function lock" key that is FINALLY always on, instead of being turned off on system-down, because the switch maintains power to the keyboard at all times! :)

3 out of 5 eggsNice KVM

Pros: Great layout, love the "all in one" cable

Cons: Keyboard port didn't work out of the box with even the most basic ps/2 keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Price, 4 ports, ports are on the back of unit instead of all 4 sides like others in this price range. Manual switch button. LEDs indicate which PC it is switched to and because of the cable configuration I can fit it on my keyboard tray, so I have easy access to the manual switch button and can see the LED indicators. I run 1680x1050 resolution and see no ghosting with supplied cables.

Cons: None, a great value!

Other Thoughts: This replaced my 2 port Belkin KVM and I'm impressed. Like most all KVMs they are not compatible with advanced function mouse software like Logitech Setpoint. But work fine with Windows drivers. Scrolling works fine.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall Good KVM

Pros: Inexpensive unit that supports 4 devices. No external power adapter required

Cons: CTRL hot-key is a bit annoying, especially with copy/pasting quickly. Would be better if hotkey was mapped to some less-used button.

Other Thoughts: DOES work on all Operating systems I've tried, which include Win2000, WinXP, Vista, Linux RH, Linux Suse, Ubuntu, and more. If this switch doesn't work with your OS (Linux included), there's something wrong with your computer!
