Works Perfectly
- Pros: Gets the job done, recycles old IDE hard drives, looks nice.
- Cons: C.D. software is not even worth the time of taking the cd out of the packaging. XP pro and vista's default back up software is better.
- Other Thoughts: Would have been nice to seen a sata connector, but then again this is one of the cheapest units on the market.
Decent box, great for the $$$
- Pros: 1) The price. That's what originally led me to it. I needed an enclosure for a 40 gig I had laying around and wanted to get a buddy to take it home and copy some files to it, but didn't want to load it up in a box. Did the job nicely.
- Cons: After the afore mentioned incident, I got greedy and stuck a 250 gig in it. Granted, the drive had been in a machine that was flaky, but the 250 died a quick death, I am assuming due to the lack of a fan or heatsink. So I wouldn't stick a drive in there that you can't live without.
- Other Thoughts: Incredible deal for the money, just don't put a really huge drive in it.
- Pros: Works great! I dont use the external enclosure part, so I just took out the adapter. Everything works like it should, fast transfer rates, sturdy, comes with AC adapter and USB cable.
- Cons: Power cable is unique, and can't be switched out with a standard AC adapter, the power cable resembles that of an S-Video cable.
- Other Thoughts: Overall it's a great external enclosure. If you're like be and wanted just an adapter, but went with this since it's cheaper, you wont be disappointed. The only thing is that the PCB is fairly large, but you may be able to cut it.
