1 out of 5 eggsWent out with a ***BANG***

Pros: deactivated, I only purchased 1...I got real lucky and only lost a DVD drive and card reader, my house didn't burn down and im still here to write this review

Cons: bad smell, really high heart rate, Smoke and fire

Other Thoughts: It lasted 3 years, not bad really, but the fact that it can blow up with fire shooting out the back is not something you want in your house. I got lucky and was home when it went. It scorched the back pannel on my desk and I am still working on the smell....if you like your stuff you might want to spend a little more on one that wont burn your house down when it goes. I hope XION has intergrated some type of safty protection in their new stuff

4 out of 5 eggs2-year update

Pros: I've had this power supply for 2 years now, and it's been stable and free of failure the whole time. Stays pretty cool under normal use.

Cons: After about a year, the stock sleeve bearing fan just wasn't working out anymore for use in a PSU (which is why it still only gets 4 eggs).

Other Thoughts: I replaced the stock fan with an 1,150RPM Gentle Typhoon (this, of course, will void the warranty). The PSU has been working great ever since, and it's quieter than ever.

3 out of 5 eggsOK I guess

Pros: Works.Seems to power all my needs fine with no bogging down even with all fans at full RPM,Phenom IIx2 unlocked to a x4, 2 1gb 4850's in xfire, and 2 HD's and a single DVD.Would have given it more eggs but read below.

Cons: Still no rebate.Honestly I never count on my rebates from online hardware stores.Burned countless times by TigerD.Now sadly it seems Egg wants to expose it's customers to the same abuse.Remember people 90% of these rebates are vendor created(third party) rebates.Manuf. are not involved.Once they sell and deliver and get paid by there customer they don't care what retailers do to create sales. This is egg looking to increase sales by then increasing the product price then offering a rebate. But simply crooking there customers out of this rebate.(It's bait and switch almost)

Other Thoughts: The Xion PSU is a decent lower end PSU.Thus why I gave this 3 eggs.I took 2 off for rebate only.If your like me you price your hardware as if no rebate and hey if after sending in,one or two show up in the mail 6 months later well hey it's xmas.If Egg is just looking for profit why not just raise all items $2 or $3 up to $5 and call it just that a profit increase.Don't mislead people with a bait and switch rebate program make your customers jump thru hoops and give over there first borns to qualify for what is rightfuly theres.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid, though slightly underpowered

Pros: -Decent max wattage for the price
-Stable in optimal conditions (cool room, low load)

Cons: -Bogs down under load and heats up very quickly
-Has trouble staying cool
-After running about a 18 months, it overheated and died

Other Thoughts: System info - No overclocking
-Radeon 1900xtx video card
-AMD Phenom 2.6ghz quad-core
-MSI K9A2 Platinum 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
-Raidmax Smilidon Case
-Two internal hard drives
-COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler

5 out of 5 eggsDid not disappoint

Pros: Have been using this PSU for just over a year now, with no problems whatsoever. Noise level is low, no stability issues. Good money for the wattage, especially considering the rebate.

Cons: The rebate, which I mailed days after receiving the PSU, took months to reach me (over half a year, if memory serves me correctly). I'm just glad it didn't get 'lost in the mail', ha.

Other Thoughts: Serious box builders tend to dismiss companies like XION in favor of PC Power and Cooling, Antec, Corsair, Seasonic or FSP. However, I took a chance - thanks to the rebate - and in the end was not disappointed.

2 out of 5 eggsUPDATED REVW.

Pros: worked good, when it worked, variable speed fan, cool blue led, nice power and rails, a good amount and variety of connectors

Cons: the 4-pin connector died out on me after about 6-9 months, i thought it was my M//B, CASE etc only after throwing all those away and getting new ones did i find out it was the 4 pin connector - computer turns on - but won't boot. replaced PSU with old one - now everything is perfect - next time maybe i will go with a name brand.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Cheap, Runs quiet, Has all the connectors and enough power for what i need.

Cons: fan died after 7 months so i replaced it with what i had and its still working after 17 months.

Other Thoughts: My pc:
Amd Phenom 9550 2.2ghz quadcore
4gb ddr2 667 5300 gskill
Nvidia Geforce 9600gt
120gb sata hdd
creative soundblaster audigy
msi wireless ethernet card
2 dvd drives
3 extra 120mm fans

If you have any higher build than this I highly don't recommend this psu.

4 out of 5 eggsGood bargain

Pros: Very good power supply. supplied all the power I needed for this build. Plenty of connectors.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: The fan in it went out in just over a year of use, although in that year my computer was on 95% of the time. I rarely shut down my computer unless swapping, or changing hardware. When the fan went out it didn't make any noise atall was just a slow death. I might just buy another 120mm fan and replace it, as first time my computer locked up I found the problem and pulled the power supply, so I don't think any thing got damaged from the heat.

1 out of 5 eggsBad on arrival.

Pros: Inexpensive, looks cool and the fan is extremely silent.

Cons: Bad on arrival. As soon as I got it from the UPS dude I opened it and took it downstairs to our PSU tester. I plugged it in and plugged it into the tester. The tester is set up so that when all of the green LEDs are on, then it's a good PSU and it's all good to go. Well..all but one green LED came on (one of the -6V ones) and the giant red DANGER LED came on. I looked on the back of the tester to see what that means..and it said it could damage my computer if I used it. No good.

And as a side note: I was going to cancel the order on Sunday but Newegg already had my status set to "Shipped"..on a Sunday...and it didn't ship until Monday. Pretty shady.

Other Thoughts: It was delivered to me one day before the scheduled delivery date. Also, Newegg gave me a RMA and is e-mailing me a UPS return label 5 minutes after I sent an e-mail describing the issue.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologied for the problem. You may contact our customer service line 909 5982600 to get supports or swape your product with invoice directly.
