4 out of 5 eggsGreat servicing drive, with slight flaws.

Pros: This enclosure holds most, if not all 2.5" internal hard drives (2.5" server drives might have an issue, but I doubt it). It is designed with a small controller in the top piece, and the metal shell and bottom end are just casings, so there's only one point of failure, and can be disassembled down to just the controller if you want to use it on a desktop drive. The built in USB cable gets good transfer speeds, and it comes with a splitter cable in case you want to hook it into a low-powered USB hub. In addition, it has ESata, which is always a nice addon. Also, the plastic endpieces hold it in a sort of stasis inside the metal casing, so you don't need to worry about shorting something out or grounding it.

Cons: On the downside, there's no padding on the inside of the metal shell, but I've never ruined a drive in it, and I have dropped it a couple times. In addition, I've never gotten the ESata to work, but I never really tried.

Other Thoughts: I use this drive on a constant basis, and it gets its best uses when an OS needs restarted, I just plug it into the side port, back up all their files, wipe, and put it back on. It's small, so you needn't worry about the size, but you don't have to worry about maxing out the space like you do with a flashdrive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product for the money.

Pros: Work's perfect. A friend bought a laptop and wanted an SSD instead of an HDD. We used the 500Gb laptop drive in this to extend storage of his laptop. Install was easy. The built in USB cable is great.

Cons: The screw's it come's with suck but it is dirt cheap so I guess you can't have everything.

Other Thoughts: I would use this product again for myself or a friend/customer.

5 out of 5 eggsBest enclosure I've ever used

Pros: Built in USB cable (Braided even)
eSata
Feels like solid construction
Fast transfer rates
Easy installation

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This enclosure is the best I've ever seen or used. I have people ask about it all the time. The built in cable is fantastic. No A/C needed due to the 2.5" design. eSata screams when it's plugged in. It seems durable as I've unfortunately dropped the drive multiple times on hard wood flooring and it's still in perfect shape. This goes with me literally everywhere, and I've not had so much as a single hiccup with it. I actually came back to order another and found it to be discontinued. Very disheartening. If I find them on sale elsewhere I'll buy a couple just to keep them around.

5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: Fast through ESata
USB is quick as usual
Fit my Seagate Momentus 5400.6 320GB Drive
Built in cable for USB
Distinctive LEDs for data/power

Cons: ESata won't power the drive
Didn't include a carrying pouch

Other Thoughts: For the price, it's a great drive. It worked fine with my Seagate drive. With CrystalDiskMark my 5400 RPM drive achieved 81.9MB sec read/write speed. Wrote my entire iTunes library to it in around 10 minutes, much faster than the 30 - 45 it use to take with USB 2.0.

The enclosure itself seems well enough constructed. I'm pretty careful with my stuff, so hopefully it lasts for a few years. It's nice to have all your data with you when you need it.

Thanks NewEgg for fast shipping as usual!

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Have had mine for over 6 months and use it every day for work without any problems. Runs cool to the touch with a 320 Gig 7200 rpm WD drive. Find the USB very quick loading large CAD drawings and 3D models, use the Esata for larger NovaStor directory BU's. I plan on buying additional units for the rest of the office that also work at home. Easy to carry in my shirt pocket when only needing to use my USB connection.

Cons: None, except I wish it would have come with a carrying case.

Other Thoughts: Found a zippered camera case (Case Logic) at OfficeMax for $7 bucks that fits the enclosure perfectly and it also has a pouch for the two (Esata,USB) cables.

1 out of 5 eggsFail

Pros: Built in USB cable.

Cons: ESata Failed after a few weeks of use. Esata was the primary reason I bought this unit. USB still works.

Other Thoughts: Cheap enough that company probably counts on you not to call for a replacement when the unit fails.

4 out of 5 eggsInteresting...

Pros: * Built-in USB cable
* eSATA
* Cable is longer than ET-CS2BSU2-BK, I have both

Cons: * Ugly (compared to ET-CS2BSU2-BK)
* When you're taking out the USB cable, I always prick the top part of my nail (the part where it meets my skin)

Other Thoughts: Buy this one if you're gonna use it for desktops, otherwise, just get the ET-CS2BSU2-BK. It's leather on one side, and chrome plated on the other.

1 out of 5 eggsFollow-up on Eagle Tech customer service

Pros: Design concept.

Cons: Concept execution. Eagle Tech's customer service and website.

Other Thoughts: After sending in a defective unit, Eagle Tech sends me a different (inferior) replacement. Their website is the only written access you have to them and it is poor at best. Phoning allows you to leave a message which is not returned.

I'd guess that this is a very small US office for a small Chinese company on a shoe-string budget, designing ever-cheaper versions of this simple product line.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Product from dishonest manufacturer

Pros: It worked for a short time...

Cons: Fragile poorly made enclosure
Attached USB cable week, and breaks after a few uses.
Overpriced, Hoped for a better quality enclosure at this price point
Poor, unresponsive customer service

Other Thoughts: Eagle Tech did everything to deny my rebate. First they denied receiving it, resubmitted, and claimed I could not prove post mark, then claimed I sent in multiple rebates.

Never AGAIN Eagle Tech...

At least Newegg cared enough to remedy an issue that Eagle Tech created... Thanks Newegg...
