Power packed to the core, the ENERMAX Infiniti EIN720AWT 720W power supply is ideal for the ultra high end multi-GPU gaming system. It's SLI, CrossFire and Quad Core CPU ready, and will add real boost to your beast machine. This modular PSU is designed to deliver maximum power with minimum heat. Instead of a small fan on the back of the unit there is a large 135mm fan on the bottom and the back panel is a minimally obstructive hexagonal mesh interrupted only by the power connector and switch.
The modular design makes cable management easier. The main power cables are permanently attached, while all of the peripheral cables all plug into the back of the PSU. To make installation easier the PCIe cables are color coded. The cables are all wrapped in mesh for a cleaner installation.
Triple +12V rails ensure a balanced power output for your system no matter what the load. Actually, this EIN720AWT supports dual CPUs with quad core, triple graphics cards and up to 18 drivers! With its 80 PLUS Certified, so less energy is wasted as heat or interference, delivering more power to your hungry system!
HUGE Oversights & Additional Costs Will Be Incurred

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: 1. Three Separate Rails (meaning truly independent rails... everyone else has virtual rails).
2. Better Cabling than the Liberty Series of PSUs
Cons: 1. For anyone who owns a relatively new home (mine is less than 3 years), this PSU will more than likely trip your circuit breakers due to ARC protection switches for all bedrooms as a new building code requirement. The Enermax Liberty exhibits the same problem.
2. This PSU is NOT compatible with UPS's that output a simulated sinusoidal waveform. Unloaded, this PSU causes my APC 1500VA that I bought here to believe it is overloaded.
Other Thoughts: 1. If you still want to put up with the hassle, either plug this PSU into an outlet not in your bedroom, or replace your ARC protected switch with a standard one (but you will be out of building safety codes).
2. I replaced my switch, but having my PSU plugged into a different outlet & not connected to the UPS but in the same room, still trips the UPS to momentarily going on battery power.
3. A good quality UPS that outputs a true sinusoidal waveform is at least an additional $500 to $800 investment.
4. ARC protection incompatibility is a huge oversight. It appears the cause of this is the PSU resumes PFC function from standby which produces a "tsst" sound (direct quote) which is normal according to Enermax.
5. If you are unwilling to tolerate the cons or solutions, you will be RMAing this PSU.
Manufacturer Response:After intensive tests about the arc breaker compatible issue, we did not find any evidence that that ENERMAX power supply is the main issue to trigger the arc breaker or AC breaker. If there is any AC/DC current leak or short circuit situation in ENERMAX power supply or connected PC components, ENERMAX power supply will turn itself off immediately and latch off for protection, till the user solved the problem so that ENERMAX power supply will allow itself to work again. Two possible situation that will cause your house AC breaker or Arc breaker to trips, and just by chance you are using ENERMAX power supply so that it makes you think ENERMAX Active PFC design is the main cause. Infiniti Issues
Reviewed By: Guyver on 5/31/2007

Pros: This is an attempt to address the misinformation in the review two places down from this one titled "Fantastic" as well as the Manufacturer's response.
Cons: The review titled "Fantastic" is referring to ground fault protection (aka GFCI) which is found in bathrooms. This is NOT arc fault protection (aka AFCI) which is found in bedrooms of newly constructed homes and apartments. The two address entirely different concerns and the reviewer below is apparently not well informed on AFCI protection which is why he/she is referring to ground fault protection instead. AFCI is a NEC requirement for all homes / apts made since January 1, 2002.
Other Thoughts: The Enermax Liberty and Infiniti series consistently trip my home's AFCI swtiches. Plugging these PSUs into any non-AFCI outlet (non-bedroom outlets) will not trip the circuit breaker. I attempted to call Enermax's support line concerning this matter but was forced to leave a voice mail which was never returned. Non-Infiniti/Liberty Enermax PSUs along with other brands of PSUs does not trip my AFCI whatsoever. I have been able to CONSISTENTLY trip the AFCI with all Liberty and Infiniti PSUs I have had my hands on (two each and brand new) in my home in addition to the concerns listed previously before. If you don't live in a home / apt with AFCI, this PSU will work great for you. Otherwise, you must replace your AFCI switch in your circuit breaker with a standard switch.... but doing so is a building code violation for newer homes. If you want to hook this PSU up to a UPS, Enermax requires that you must use a UPS which has a true sinusoidal output (very expensive).

Pros: This PSU was bought to future proof my desktop, and as such is currently supporting a light load. I've used Enermax PSU's for years, and am glad I have no reason to stop doing so.
Cons: I am unable to think of anything I don't like.
Other Thoughts: I've had this PSU installed for about 2 months now. I don't leave my desktop running, but I have had no issues with the PSU being connected to a 3 month old APC 1500VA battery backup that generates a simulated stepped sine wave. The home is 15 or so years old.

Pros: Silent as far as I can tell. Cables are well made and the modular design is very helpful for making a clean install. I've been a fan of Enermax for a long time.... all the PSUs I've bought from them are still working (>10years for some) and I've only lost one, to a wicked lightning strike while that computer was on. The Enermax took the hit, saving the PC. I put in another Enermax and that PC is still going right now.. its been turned on for over 10 years 24/7.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. These cost more than budget competitors. I've never had an issue with this brand,so I stick with what has worked for me.

Pros: I've had my Infiniti 720 for approx. 2 yr, 3 mo., running nearly continuously on an overclocked gaming system with several upgrades since then. Still going strong with clean, quiet power.
Cons: Was pricey when I bought it @ $219.99.
Other Thoughts: In the Enermax manual (.pdf available on their website):
"If you want to provide the AC source via additional UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), please use Sine Wave type. This PSU is not compatible with Simulate Sine Wave type UPS."
SO it's pretty simple: if you burn out your Infiniti from even a few minutes use with a cheap SIMULATED Sine UPS, you have no one to blame but yourself!!! Enermax clearly states, "NOT COMPATIBLE"!!!
Spend the bucks on something better, like a TrippLite SU x000 series, and it will love you long time!
