3 out of 5 eggsUpdate Review

Pros: RMA process worked
Got Rebate

Cons: DOA

Other Thoughts: Update on previous review: rebate came at almost exactly 10 weeks from purchase date. To be fair the rebate form says expect 8 to 10 weeks for processing.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm sold on Enermax

Pros: They seem to have a reputation for making their own quality power supplies

Active PFC

Dead Silent

Good Price

Cons: wish it had a single 30A rail

no mention of efficiency

Other Thoughts: I bought a couple Enermax cases on rebate and they were really nice for the price. I got the rebates.

Maybe they need some cash flow.

I figure they've done me right, so I'll loan them some money for quality gear.

2 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: RMA process worked
Replaced unit works

Cons: DOA
No rebate yet

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't turn new system on. Fortunately had a known good PS that I could substitute so found it was the PS right away. Cost $10 to ship to Enermax for replacement, adding 33% to the cost of the unit (assuming I ever get the rebate) and delaying completion of the system by 2 weeks.

Pretty crummy quality control, I'd say. Unless you really need a lot of watts and amps, and most systems don't, just buy one of the $15 units and you'll have as good a chance of getting a working unit as buying this one.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsBEWARE !! REBATE FRAUD !!!

Pros: Decent product for promised price. Quiet, stable, well made, easy to install.

Cons: In fact after 3 months - NO REBATE. Any attempts to contact manufacturer through official email - failed due to not working email address. Not worth it for price I paid. For 80$ you can get much better product with advanced features.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy for promised "rebate price." They will never issue a rebate check to you!!! Avoid my mistake ! Will take legal action.

Manufacturer Response:

DZ,

Sorry to hear about your problem. Please contact us directly if our 3rd party rebate collector isn't working.

5 out of 5 eggsVery quiet

Pros: Easy to install tho I've never done it before.... up and running in less than 10 minutes.
Nice and quiet - no unpleasant surprises.
Dealing with Newegg.

Cons: Was hoping for a silent computer but the loudest thing now is that CPU fan ....

5 out of 5 eggsCan't beat it after the rebate

Pros: Rebate! Quality connectors, adequate length and sleeved cables, HUGE fan should keep it cool, every PSU protection for consumer grade PSUs is in it, hardware power switch on the back, includes power cable, appears to be well built, excellent specs for the price, easy rebate process, decent warranty, website easy to navigate

Cons: No "Real" cons.. might be a bit pricey without the rebate but that's about it

Other Thoughts: ANY PSU brand can be DOA.. it is just that statistically better brands will have fewer of those. If something is DOA, end user is more likely to leave a review so it is the DOA percentage that counts. Modular connectors are not all that they are made up to be and can cause problems due to yet another connection and added resistance (I have seen connectors melt due to poor contact, and modular connectors add yet another possible failure point in the chain). PSU warranty length is less imporant than quality, support level and return policy. Don't buy a PSU with minimum specs, have extra wattage capacity. It will run cooler and last longer. A low end PSU can fry just about everything in your system. It makes no sense to save $30 and risk damaging your entire system. I have seen motherboards, CPUs and memory damaged by cheap PSUs that OEMs like to put in their machines. Don't buy a no name $20 PSU, you might be sorry.

3 out of 5 eggsnot the best

Pros: the cables' length are great. it's light. a good price it's quite

Cons: every time i start or restart my desktop. i get this power shortage for 30 sec like my cpu fan starts then stops, for like awhile then it finally have the loading screen

Other Thoughts: it's affordable price, i trust this brand cause my old power supply lasted my 4-5 years.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Power Supply

Pros: Excellent power supply, had a Thermaltake before that kept setting off my UPS whenever I did something processor intensive, but this one is so efficient it hasn’t happened once.

Cons: Not really a con, but these power supplies are not as heavy as the old ones, which I always considered a trait of quality, but as long as it works that’s all that matters.

Other Thoughts: No worries about running 24/7

5 out of 5 eggsAs Expected

Pros: Solid build and finish. Same as any Enermax. Good Cable length.

Cons: None at this time

Other Thoughts: I build a lot of systems, from entry level desktops to $8k rack servers. I have used Enermax in nearly every level except when I need redundant power supplys and I have never had a DOA or short life unit from this company. Excellant products.
