5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the price!

Pros: It took me several days of research, reading the specs and comparing to other brands but it was the feedback I read here that convinced me to make the purchase. 5 Year guarantee! Hello Plenty of 12V rails and cables. No sparks and VERY quiet.
I am so glad I went with a modular PSU. I had a 750 watt from a previous build but what I remembered the most was the fact it was an octopus. I spent more time wire tying all the cables I didnt want to use. This install was a dream, very clean and I still have open rails for upgrades down the road.

Cons: None as of yet! I will post again if I experience any problems but I am sure Enermax will take care of me.

Pros: Looks awesome, modular cables are stiff but you dont have to use many. Fan is super quiet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: maybe make the cables easier to flex/bend but not a big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsFollowup Review

Pros: Rebate has been added to the rebate website (

Power supply works flawlessly. Very quiet! Fully modular design is great. Includes a free 120mm fan! w00t

Cons: Very large. Have to buy a larger case. (I know I'm still using a vintage cooler master praetorian case...) Cables are stiff but all Enermax power supplies are like this. Has more modules than included do you get more cables???

Other Thoughts: Enermax announced some completely fan-less design power supplies yesterday at CeBIt. Its a 650W 80 plus platinum certified power supply! ...can't wait to get a hold of one of those!

5 out of 5 eggsEnermax Platimax 1200W -- Exceeded expectations

Pros: Flawless installation. Works like a champ. Powering two power hungry 8 core cpu's, 4 hard disks, 1 solid state drive, 1 dvd, 1 Mega Nvidia graphic card, and 24GB of memory. It was an easy install.

Cables were long enough to work in the largest Lian Li box that Newegg sells! It was a perfect fit.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The cables should be restrained to the chassis after installation, but they provide more than adequate velcro tabs to handle this.

2 out of 5 eggsPrice is to high

Pros: don't have any

Cons: In my opinion for the amount of money this thing cost and witch it has been the same price for over a year now and do not feal like paying 330$ for a PSU upgrade this cost is way to high.

1 out of 5 eggsStarted throwing sparks after 5 minutes of use!!!

Pros: - Very quiet
- Looks nice
- Modular

Cons: - Unit ate itself after 5 minutes of use. -4 eggs

Other Thoughts: I had read another review on this unit that talked about the unit throwing sparks but figured it was probably a one off kind of thing. Wrong. This unit threw sparks after 5 minutes of use and smelled so bad that I thought it may have been on fire internally. I am going to RMA and see if I have better luck with the next one and will revise this review if needed.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize that your unit did not function properly and caused your inconvenience. This unit is backed by 5 year warranty, please contact us for further replacement processing.

5 out of 5 eggsENERMAX 1200W Platimax EPM1200EWT Modular Power Supply

Pros: This power supply is so quiet I had to confirm the fan was actually spinning after installation. The modular connectors completely eliminate excess cable bulk and interference between cables and components. The unit is standard size (for a larger wattage power supply), and fits uniformly where a prior 1000W unit was mounted.

Running 3 monster video cards and 8+ hard drives? -- this power supply is for you. My system has over 10 spinning hard drives and dual GTX570s, and not only does this unit easily handle the power requirements efficiently, the top mounting in my current case also draws hot air from the hard drives for expulsion with the PS heat. The unit comes with enough connectors and power ports to handle any application by a PC enthusiast. The connectors are also intelligently designed for any combination of devices, drives, and peripherals in a fully loaded machine.

Additionally, the 5 year warranty is well worth the extra expense for this superior power supply dev

Cons: I can't think of one. This unit surpasses my expectations for a high end power supply unit.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Like the modual design, so that you onlys the cables you need and don't have bunches of loose ones knocking around the case. Good saftey features for both your system and yourself. The cooling fan running after the system is shutdown so that heat doesn't keep building up.

Cons: While the individual wires being bundled in braided sheaths is nice for clutter-control, they impart the flexiblity of steel cable.
