1 out of 5 eggsDid Not Run Out of Box!

This review is from: ENERMAX Platimax EPM1350EWT 1350W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Nice clean unit with all the bells & whistles, and with the power rating and Platinum certified that I wanted--we pay .24 cents/kw here so cost of operation is a large factor.

Cons: I purchased it in anticipation of a computer that I had pre-ordered with a healthy appetite for power. Then the computer didn't arrive until almost two months later. After setting up, I flipped the switch on the Platimax, and then panicked--absolutely nothing happened--it was sitting on the counter quietly. I checked the wall receptacle, slowly toggled it on and off a couple of times, but nada, zilch, zippo!

Other Thoughts: Can't return to Newegg since it is past the 30 days; so I have to RMA the PSU, and that is not a happy thing to do. Postage is estimated at $36.00 and it will not show back up for a month--six weeks. I bought it because it was touted as a superior, technologically adept PSU, and then it didn't even turn on. How could this happen--even with the simplest QC program? Any ideas--something else I could try?

5 out of 5 eggsMy new PSU

This review is from: ENERMAX Platimax EPM1350EWT 1350W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Good brand name, good guarantee, my third one already

Cons: don't like the repair service did not get good service last time I needed help. Bought Enermax 1000, defective after four months and did not abuse or overclock system it just blew, told them the story never believed me ( I didn't even play games then) so bought another one at a retail store and been happy ever since. Oh, I forgot to mention threaten them with a law suit and finally they paid 90% of the PSU. But as you can see I don't hold a grudge so here is my third Enermax to go with new computer.

5 out of 5 eggsBest PSU I've ever owned

This review is from: ENERMAX Platimax EPM1350EWT 1350W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Pumps some serious juice to all my components. Even fixed a USB port flakiness issue that I was having under gaming load, which was obviously because my previous power supply wasn't up to the task.

The cabling is modular and I connected my video card's power to two different rails for even power distribution.

Cons: I've had no issues at all with this power supply.

Other Thoughts: Antec 902 case

This review is from: ENERMAX Platimax EPM1350EWT 1350W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: good quality of the power supply.

Cons: can not working with 7990.
6 separate 12V power rails.
cable is too thin, can not work with 7990.
7990 need 16AWG wires

Other Thoughts: I am still having issues with 2 power rails tripping out when both being used to drive a single HD 7990.

1 out of 5 eggs1 out of 5 failed within a week of service

This review is from: ENERMAX Platimax EPM1350EWT 1350W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: 5 Year warranty

Cons: Warranty process goes unanswered for weeks. What good is a warranty if I cannot send an RMA in??

Other Thoughts: I purchased 5 of these power supplies and one of them failed after about a week after I installed it. The unit was powering a constant draw of about 800 watts, and blew a circuit when it failed. When I reset the circuit, it would blow each time. I disconnected EVERYTHING from the PSU so the only thing plugged into the PSU was the power plug, and it still blew the circuit. Opened a support ticket for RMA on "31 Dec 2013 12:59:06" and they responded on 1/2 asking for proof of purchase. I sent it via email and attachment on their website, and have received no response since then. It is 1/27/14, and I have sent three unanswered responses on my ticket.

First and last time purchasing an Enermax product, very, very disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsPowering my ASICMiner Block Erupter Cubes

This review is from: ENERMAX Platimax EPM1350EWT 1350W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Efficiency
5 year warranty
Previous Enermax Experience

Cons: Cost

Other Thoughts: I have 4 ASICMiner Block Erupter Cubes running off this one power supply. All four are also overclocked.

I did have an issue with the PS shutting down due to an overload on one of the rails. Turns out I had 2 cubes attached to one rail. A closer look at the directions and I saw that I had to move one of the modular cables to a different connection point on the supply. The instructions indicate which plugs go to which rail and each cube needs it's own dedicated rail.

Very happy with the efficiency. I haven't done any actual measurements but I feel very little heat coming off the supply when I have a heavy load on it.

Even though it's very expensive I feel it is still a good investment for my ASIC miner needs over the next few years. That many years at over 80% load should yield some energy cost savings from the added efficiency.

I plan on buying a second one to power a pair of Antminer S1 Dual blade setups.

In addition, I have been a customer of Enermax for many years now and I have been very happy with the quality that I get. I will admit though there may be a recent DOA issue. In the nearly 10 years I have been buying enermax supplies it wasn't until recently that I started getting the occasional DOA supply.

1 out of 5 eggsSemi DOA

This review is from: ENERMAX Platimax EPM1350EWT 1350W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Great look, good cables (a little short, but fine for my install)

Cons: Works 10 minutes, then shuts off, requiring pulling wall power for 10 minutes. Not useful.

Other Thoughts: 24.35 shipping back is a kick in the jewels, to top off not being able to mine with this machine, everyday it's down costs me about 13 dollars, so 24 hours troubleshooting, plus all the days shipping and waiting, I figure this is going to cost me about 150 or so dollars.

2 out of 5 eggsgood, stable, but...

This review is from: ENERMAX Platimax EPM1350EWT 1350W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Good modular pannel. Runs stable and smooth like an 80+ platinum rated PSU should be. Very good black powdered surface finish and all sides properly threaded holes for attachement in your computer case.

Cons: For a 1350 watts the cable length is just way too short to do cable proper cable management into a huge computer case such as the Obsidian 800D, don't even think about installing that one in the 900D the cables will run too short. Let's say it is not the type of PSU unit you'll buy to fix in a mini ATX case or even medium sized case unless you're a magician. It is just pointless to make the cable lenght as if it was to be installed in a regular case.

Since I have two 12volts sockets on my motherboard it would have been great to get an extra cable in the package for that, still I was REALLY lucky to find one at my local computer shop.

Tried to get in touch with Customer care, asking for longer cables and willing to pay for that, I never did get an answer from them... actually they didnt even bother answering my email. 2 eggs for them and that's it. Great product but no Customer service at all and way too short cables (cables lenght weren't displayed on their website back then nor on newegg so it was pure guessing that would be a fit).

Other Thoughts: I'd go for another 1300+ watts with super long cable lenght for about the same price... too bad it wasn't available when I ordered all of my components.
