Pros: worked great to get data that was on my broken ext. encloser used on my iMac g3.

fast and worked great.

Cons: after i burned all the songs on cd to be transfered to pc, i formated to fat32 for pcs.

then my vaio fe doesn't recognize it at all.

Other Thoughts: the irock website sucks. doesn't provide any useful info for such a troubleshootings.

i've emailed several time but never got replied.

later found it's korean company. and as a korean myself, not realy please with their customer service at all.

Pros: Very attractive cabinette. Took about 5 minutes to install and setup. Good value for the price.

Cons: The utilities that came with the device are not documented. It comes with a utility called "One Button Back-up". There is no documentation and it loads but doesn't seem to do anything.

Other Thoughts: The drivbers that it comes with are un-neccessary for Windoes XP users.

Pros: Pleasant appearence. The aluminum warms up, meaning it's doing a good job of taking the drive's heat. The case also has heatsink-like grooves at the top to increase heat dissipation. Easy to install the drive into it. The drive access light is clearly visible but not overly obnoxious, which in my experience is hard to come by with enclosures...

Cons: The drive mounting tray is made of plastic, but it seems sturdy enough and doesn't seem to hinder heat dissipation much. The power switch is at the bottom of the enclosure, meaning that depending on your desk orientation you may need to reach around wires to get to it. The only vents are at the very front of the enclosure.

Other Thoughts: The included firewire cable was rather short compared to one that came with another enclosure from another vendor maker - this worked better for my setup. Size-wise it's larger than my Icy Dock but smaller than my Mac Ally enclosure.

This was the first (and so far only) product I had to RMA to Newegg. It would spin the drive down and either cycle spinning up and down, or it would spin down and stay down - even though the access light was on and the system was trying to use the drive. The second one hasn't had any issues - faulty products happen. RMA process was totally painless. I'd buy another one of these if I had another PATA in need of an enclosure.
