5 out of 5 eggsHit and Miss

Pros: I can hook up my devices without software, conflict, speed or port problems.

Cons: Wish it came in whte red or blue. No problems

Other Thoughts: This is a little off, but for the people who have had a bad experience with their products, they would also need to give living situation details. Secondly, I order diapers for my diaper same company. Month after month sometimes the diapers hold, sometimes it's the low quality diaper. WE keep ordering because the price. Its a great hub because I love that I can use all my ports. SD card usb reader, wifi adapter, charge and upload ipod and android. Speeds are phenomenal with that many hookups. I cheeped my computer from having 6 usb to 19 all thanks to my two hubs. I say if you need it do.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works. Small and inexpensive.

Cons: -

Other Thoughts: The plastic housing can simply be pulled apart, exposing a roughly 1" square PCB with soldered wire connections. I plan to install it inside my laptop to hide a wireless mouse/keyboard receiver. Should be able to stash it almost anywhere.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks mostly.

Pros: It works usually.

Cons: One of the plugs are not tight enough to hold a USB plug into it. -1 Egg for that.
All the other plugs seem to be fine.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Poor

Pros: Cheap. Like the flexibility of the octopus design for fitting into tight laptop connections.

Cons: Slow. Did I say slow? I had high expectation based upon the USB 2.0 rating, however this is nowhere near as fast as my powered USB 2.0 hub made by Belkin. Tried to play a video for a major presentation and it was a disaster. Removing the hub solved my issue.

Other Thoughts: Nice form factor and that's about it. Don't waste your money.

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless

Pros: Plugs into the computer easily

Cons: not a powered hub. Couldn't plug in my 2.5 external backup drive, printer, webcam, wireless keyboard&mouse dongle, external dvd drive.......basically nothing i needed to connect to it worked.

Other Thoughts: Buy one that has to plug into the wall. Avoid my mistake. its only maybe 10 dollars more

2 out of 5 eggsi know what to look for in usb hubs now. pls read! i tried to be informative. thx

Pros: cheap**
**good only if you need the usb cables
i can find a use for them YAAY :)
so 1 egg for use

learned a lot about usb 2.0 hubs from this purchase (because it did not perform as i expected). :))
and 1 egg for learning

it worked at 32 mb per sec??? at the beginning?? for 2 minutes?? dont remembered if that was when i connected my usb thumb drive directly to the computer or though the hub lol sorry lol i know is i cant reproduce that speed on this hub to save my life!! :/

Cons: lots i will list the important ones
works at less then 1 mb per sec
tested with multiple usb 3.0 devices and multiple 2.0 devices
computer tells me its NOT a 2.0 devices
tested on other computers and it wont even show up (on some)..
i have no idea what chip this uses it was covered in epocy and was nothing fancy for sure.

(yes i opened after testing. it's easy to open has four pegs that just align with matching holes on the second half and no glue or barb's to hold it together)

Other Thoughts: look for usb hubs with multi-TT they are the best...

single TT is not as good at mixing usb devices...

the non-TT are garbage period !

if it say "Connects up to maximum of 127 USB devices through cascading multiple Hubs" then it should have TT (im guessing)

two company's that i researched, that make good chips are Genesys Logic and Cypress Semiconductor.
GL852GC
GL852GX
GL852G
are very good usb 2.0 chips with multi-TT by Genesys Logic these chips have a few sub category's but all are under the GL852 name...

CY7C65642 is one of Cypress Semiconductor. (im getting tired so do your own research please there are others and this should be written on some of there multi-TT chips)

GL850A
GL850G
are very common single-TT chips (by Genesys Logic) and lots of people get very good results from them.

usb 3.0 you should have less problems.usb 3.0 hubs should have at lest a single-TT for backwards compatibility and should have multi-TT to keep 1.0 and 2.0 devices for dragg

1 out of 5 eggsNot USB 2.0 (at least according to Windows)

Pros: The design is nice. I like the additon of a mini USB port

Cons: Neither Windows 7 nor Windows XP say this is a USB 2.0 device, despite the product description on the webpage and the packaging. When I plug a USB 2.0 thumb drive in Windows helpfully suggests the device would perform better using a High-Speed USB port. I tried it on two computers and multiple USB ports that I know are USB 2.0, It will go in the orphan computer parts drawer with another old USB 1.1 hub since it is not worth the shipping back to Newegg. This is the first Newegg purchase that I have not been satisfied with, good thing it was only $7.00.
