Not all wattages are the same. Traditional Multi-Rail PSUs might claim to have higher wattages, but they are achieved by combining multiple smaller, lower wattage rails. Each smaller rail isn’t capable of running multiple high-power devices (GPUs, CPUs) because the individual wattage caps are simply too low. EasyRail Technology provides true total wattage – when you expect 200W, EasyRail gives you 200W. One Rail, One Setup.

XFX Core Edition Pro Series PSUs are designed to deliver tight DC voltage regulation (±5%) with minimal AC ripple, giving you safer, cleaner power which along with XFX’s new EasyRail Technology allows you to connect numerous devices without worrying about running out of power before reaching the maximum wattage. EasyRail optimizes it all for you. XFX Core Edition Pro Series PSUs with EasyRail Technology give you one continuous rail of power covering the total maximum wattage.

  • newegg 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified The 80 PLUS BRONZE certified power supply provides high power efficiency of at least 82% at any load between 20% and 100%, saving your money on your electrical bill, reducing heat in your computer's system and prolonging its life.
  • newegg EasyRail for Maximum Power Unique, continuous EasyRail technology enables you to maximize available power and make set-up easy. The XFX Core Edition PRO550W (P1-550S-XXB9) is capable of delivering 550W of continuous output even at well above standard operating conditions such as 50°C. Single, high-power +12V rail with EasyRail technology providing up to 44A ensures the maximum compatibility and provision of 12V power to multi-core CPUs and energy-hungry graphics cards. Stack numerous power-hungry components without fear of crashing!
  • newegg Japanese Brand Capacitors (105°C) The PSU utilizes highly reliable Japanese brand capacitors for exceptional stability and product lifespan.
  • newegg 120mm Silent Ball Bearing Fan The 120mm ball bearing fan provides superior cooling performance to dissipate heat in the power supply enclosure while running whisper-quiet.
  • newegg Clean Power Power drawn from your AC outlet is typically dirty with voltage spikes and fluctuations, which can harm vital PC components. XFX PSUs are designed to deliver tight DC voltage regulation with minimal AC ripple, giving you safer, cleaner power. This can also reduce audio distortion and screen flicker especially for high power gaming systems.

3 out of 5 eggsGood PS and great sale price. Support is non-existant.

Pros: Voltages are good with the boards I am using and stable.
Happy with the quality.

Cons: Tech support page and tech support response has become an act of futility. Support page was re-done (it is horrible and hard to use compared to old page).

Out of 4 emails in 2 months, I have received a grand total of 0 responses. Not happy....

Other Thoughts: I don't understand what happen with XFX support. They had a functional support log in site and they took care of issues.
Now, they have a support page that was designed by a high school drop out and do not return emails when you need help.

XFX can we fix this or do I need to look at another manufacturer?

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Bob, Our support site is up and running as intended. There was a brief downtime, but the ticket system and helpdesk are fully functional. Please email me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com to get this resolved.

3 out of 5 eggsPower supply is great! Support has become non-existant

Pros: I have used at least 4 of these is the last year and they work very well. The P4 connector can be a little short with cases with power supply on the bottom, but seems to work ok.

Cons: I have been trying to register 2 products for 2.5 months with several emails to support with no response. If you do not register in 30 days, you do not get the 5 year warranty. IF not, your warranty is reduced to like 1-2 years?

Other Thoughts: I have bought a truck load of XFX products and only had problem with the HD7770 video card in 2 years. Signing into support was easy and the email response was like 24 hours. I have sent 4 emails in 2 months with no response.

IF I could register my products and get some support, I would buy XFX products. If I cannot register my products to get the full warranty, I will have to consider other brands in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat POWER!

Pros: Powers Everything in my system, No issues. More than enough connectors for anything you would only need 550 for.

Cons: Cant count as a con but has way more connectors than needed for 550, makes it a little bit of a hastle not being modular fitting into a mid. ATX case but cant knock off an Egg for something I knew going in.

Other Thoughts: Great Power Supply would suggest to anyone.

4 out of 5 eggsXFX Core Edition PRO550W

Pros: Best wattage for $ when on sale
No noise
Good paint finish

Cons: Cables short
Not modular

Other Thoughts: There's not much to dislike about this power supply, if you need 550watts or a little less this is one of the main PSU's you'll be looking at. Get it on sale, if it's not on sale take a look at a few more similar too it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: For a non-modular PSU, GREAT DEAL! purchased at $69.99 w/ $10 mail in rebate. My system pulls an estimated 450W - 460W so this is perfect for my build with small room for upgrades(SLI, Ram, SSD)

Cons: Not modular :-)

5 out of 5 eggsgreat oem replacement

Pros: Small size to f7t factory cases
Quiet
Single rail 12v @528w
Ridiculous price

Cons: Only one 6+2 PCI-E

Other Thoughts: I used this as an oem replacement for a Dell XPS 8500. I had earlier upgraded to a radeon 7950 MSI Twin froze, and the stock power supply was causing power reboots under load. Installing this power supply solved that problem and increased airflow to keep the system a little bit cooler.
