SolidLink™ Power Supplies

Less Wire, Less Heat

SolidLink Full Modular PSUs don't have as many primary wires, instead we use pin lag that directly connects to the daughter board.
ProSeries 850W PSU Traditional fully modular PSUs tend to have a bundle of cables which are connected to the connector daughter board which generate heat causing Wattage loss.

SolidLink™ Technology Difference

  • Drastically reduces the lost Wattage
  • Draw less wall power which save you money
  • Replaces traditional wired connections with direct pin to port connections.
  • Reduces heat generated by wires.
  • Reduces lost Wattage giving you clean, consistent high quality voltage.

Hybrid Fan Control

Quieter, Saves Power

Hybrid mode when activated, allows your fan to stay off when your computer is idle but turns on automatically when the PSU needs it.

  • Operates Silently until it reaches 20% load or 77°F (25°C)
  • Switches to Quiet Mode (only 16dBA)
  • Reaching 50% load which Cooling Mode to cool the PSU appropriately

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product. I only buy XFX Power Supplies Now

Pros: Quiet, Quality construction, Modular cables and many of them. Lots of power for RAID systems or high end video cards. No failures in dozens of units installed.

Cons: None. I have had great success with these power supplies. If I had to pick a con, the new modular cables are a bit thin and cheap looking but can be dressed up with some type of wrap if you're in to that sort of thing.

Other Thoughts: I have been buying, selling and recommending XFX power supplies for about 4 years now. I have yet to have a single failure, fan failure, or bad product. I still have the original 750 Modular I bought almost 5 years ago and it is running strong in my gaming PC. I use these 850 Watts for high end workstations and dual socket processor workstations (Supermicro) because the modular cabling allows the extra plugs to the AMD board that are required.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review, we appreciate the positive feedback.

5 out of 5 eggsProud owner

Pros: This is a beefy power supply. The modular selection seems to be perfect for my application. I only had to plug in a few sections. Considering I'm running 2 hdds, 2 ssds, and an optical drive. It's also a beautiful design and makes zero noise. Runs super cool, but I also have a Corsair 540 air carbide case, so everything runs cool in it. It is everything I've come to expect from XFX so far.

Cons: There are no real cons, just that all these companies charge way to much for power supplies :)

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: None so far

Cons: Installed into the computer, powered up and the power light indicator flashed for a second. Would not power up at all. come to find out it appeared that it sent a surge through the hard drives and possibly the motherboard. Lost all data and have to send the drives (three) to a data recovery experts.

Other Thoughts: Just did an RMA and we will see about the replacement. This was for a higher end PC.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat PSU

Pros: easy to Install in upper or lower config depending on your case. The integrated fan is quiet and plenty of power connectors are included. I am pulling Approximately 800 watts of this PSU and it is running solid.

It is not a modular power supply, it is semi-modular. The MB, CPU and PCI-E power connectors are static cables.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Powering this Build:

Asus Sabertooth X79
Intel Core i7-3820 (LGA2001)
32GB Corsair Vengeance LP @1866 (OC'd to 2133 Mhz)
2x EVGA 2GB GTX770 SC w/ACX Cooling in SLI
Corsair 120GB Force GT SSD
