Features

XFX 850W Power Supply

SolidLink™ Power Supplies
Less Wires. Less Heat.

XFX 850W Power Supply

SolidLink Fully Modular PSUs don't have as many primary wires - instead we use pin lag that directly connects to the connector's daughter board.

XFX 850W Power Supply

Traditional fully modular PSUs tend to have a bundle of cables which are connected to the connector daughter board which generate heat causing Wattage loss.

SolidLink™ Technology Difference

  • Drastically reduces the lost Wattage
  • Draws less wall power which saves you money
  • Replaces traditional wired connections with direct pin-to-port connections
  • Reduces heat generated by wires
  • Reduces lost Wattage giving you clean, consistent high quality voltage

Hybrid Fan Control
Quieter & More Power Efficient

XFX 850W Power Supply

Hybrid mode when activated, allows your fan to stay off when your computer is idle but turns on automatically when the PSU needs it.

  • Operates Silently until it reaches 20% load or 25°C
  • Switches to Quiet Mode (only 16dBA)
  • Reaching 50% load which Cooling Mode to cool the PSU appropriately

80 Plus Gold Certification
Super High Efficiency

XFX 850W Power Supply

Efficient Power Use

  • 80 Plus Gold certified means that this XFX PSU has up to 90% power efficiency (only 10% of the power drawn from the outlet is lost).
  • Compare that to non-certified PSUs, which lose at least 20% of power drawn.
  • With XFX PSUs, you get every Watt you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsstill running strong.....

Pros: Modular...big plus for cable management
has a quiet mode switch like the Seasonic version....another big plus
suited my need just fine since my system is sort of juice hungry.

Cons: the cables were a bit stiff at first but loosened up after a little work.
other than that not much.

Other Thoughts: okay folks....this XFX PSU is nothing more than a rebranded Seasonic with XFX's labeling. Not that I'm knocking XFX but if you do a little research on PSU you'll find out Seasonic makes PSU's for a lot of companies. don't freak out okay.....it happens in the computer industry. I've had this PSU for over a year now and through several blackouts and little girls bumping the power cable. It keeps on taking it. I can't speak for the other people who seem to be getting bad power supplies but maybe they need to look at their systems needs with a thing called the PSU calculator.....came in handy for me to figure out how much I needed. I actually have more than I need but a little more never hurts right???

Take it from me....running on the edge of your power supplies capabilities is silly.....what happens when you put a load on it. Yep....fried power supply!!!!

Just take it from me.....look up PSU calculator.....there is a free one. I used that one to get an IDEA(key word there) on what I would need. then I went shopping from there.

Good luck.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU!

Pros: Works perfectly
Has fan selector
Modular
Noise level

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: So far I love this PSU. It works great and wire management is a breeze. ALL cables are detachable. First time I've seen one that had this setup.

PSU has a switch to change between normal and hybrid fan mode. In hybrid the fan only runs as necessary and normal it is constantly on. Even on Normal this PSU is practically silent. Being the slightly paranoid person I am, I leave it there.

Manufacturer Response:

Excellent. We are happy everything is going as expected.

1 out of 5 eggsInconsistent Voltages, No Customer Service

Pros: Nice modular design. Excellent marketing propaganda. Really makes you feel like you're buying a quality product.

Cons: Voltages are all over the map, limited cabling, and most importantly, a terrible website (could not recognize my product serial #) with zero response to customer inquiries. Currently, this power supply is preventing my system from booting properly.

Other Thoughts: I'm tired of basic customer support hiding behind the digital wall of website form submission, rather than having a service number to call and quickly resolve an issue.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Drake, Sorry for the confusion.

We use tickets to gather accurate data so we can answer your question accurately, not to cause a hurdle hoping you wont pose the question. As far as the number, you can contact our Tech support line at 800 880 3225.

Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsShipping Woes

Pros: I'll be sure to update this once I get a unit that's not DOA, but I'll say the modular design is nice and setting it up/and taking it back out was fairly quick and easy (hence 2 eggs even being DOA). It's a minor qualm but the cable ends are fairly sharp. Not uncommon with PSU's, but when you're plugging in and awkward place it'd be nice if a company took a first step and just smoothed those edges out a little.

Cons: Unit arrived DOA most likely due to the dented packaging and water damage. The box must of been beaten so hard the packaging on the inside was open... This hasn't been the first time with Newegg, but this is a first where the product is DOA due to shipping. Newegg please review your shipping policy. I think when I get a box mauled I shouldn't have to pay my own shipping to send it back to you.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

We're sorry you had issues with the shipping company. However, this is not a Newegg or XFX issue, this should be filed as a claim with the shipping company immediately, with pictures.

It is important to contact Newegg for the replacement, but more important to get the claim started.

5 out of 5 eggsMore like a Platinum 850W

Pros: Compact size for its class, my old ABS Labs TAGAN BZ 700W PSU was bigger than this one.

Extremely, and I do mean EXTREMELY solid and clean power draw to the system, voltages are literally within a 2% margin and that is going into the Platinum ratings.

Comes with all the necessary cables to attach just about any peripheral you need and will still have more slots available if you actually need to order more cables from XFX.

All the cables are in a MATTE Black finish and minimally impede airflow when using wire management in your case if available.

These cables were able to easily reach all spots on my ANTEC 1200 V3 Full Tower, so if you have a full tower and are concerned about wire length, don't be, they have this covered very well.

You also get a thick ferro-spiral wire braided (interior) 16AWG rated power cable with this that is pretty heavy duty and should help give you clean power, combine this with a Monster Power Center which has an AC noise filter in it and your PC will be running cleaner than you after a 30 minute shower.

There are tons of personal and professional reviews about this PSU and not one of the professional reviews gave it bad remarks, please be sure to check for the BEFX version as this (as of this review) is the latest version available and is substantially different than its predecessors.

Cons: I didn't buy the 1000W version.....

On a more serious note, there are no real cons here at all, this is really all you can ask for if it meets your +12V Amp ratings and the Wattage you are seeking. In the 700-900W range this PSU is the end all be all of all the PSU's currently available.

Other Thoughts: All my research into this product prior to my purchase revealed that this is an XFX Rebranded Seasonic, and the reviews on the Seasonic that this is based on are top notch.

This PSU does come with a standard 5 year warranty, which is already awesome, but for more awesomeness REGISTER THIS PSU on XFX's website within 30 days to get a FREE upgrade to a LIFETIME WARRANTY! Now that is awesome!

Next time I need a PSU upgrade I will be looking to this line of PSU's from XFX!

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality PSU

Pros: Build quality, efficiency, cables, fully modular. Everything looks pro

Cons: None thus far

Other Thoughts: Great PSU. Going to use this to power an SLI setup with SSD/HDD combo, DDR3 etc. Should be plenty of power to satisfy my components.
