dont buy it
- Pros: Modular very quit nice size
- Cons: worked great for first year at 1year 1month pfffft dead
Please ignore my other review below
- Pros: In my other review below, I thought my Odin was bad like another reviewer's, having a pin missing on the 24 pin ATX connector (he was missing pin 5, mine pin 20)
I thought I had my problem licked, but in actuality, pin 20 is supposed to be missing on all modern power supplies....-5V is not needed anymore.... So I apologize for being a dummy on that one... my mother board must be fried (from my old Antech true power blowing up). I am ordering a Phenom rig now to replace my 939/SLi set up, and hope this Odin unit will easily power the 9950 and a single GTX 260 OC. I will report back if I have any issues.
- Cons: please see pros field
Thank you SO MUCH for these reviews
- Pros: very well packaged and equipped - appears to be a great first time out for Gigabyte and power supplies...
- Cons: Thank you to the other reviewer here who mentioned about his wiring problems - I have about $800 worth of items in my newegg shopping cart right now, because I thought my MB or proccesor were fried from my old Anatech truepower 2.0 supply that just died... I got the Gigabyte Odin 800 W unit the other day, installed it and no POST! All the fans lit up, hard drives, video card fans, and optical drives too....but no POST. I saw the review here where the guy had a pin missing on the 24 pin ATX connector... turns out my pin 20 (-5V) is completely missing also... so close to having a running computer again, and something like a QC problem is now holding me up. Hopefully I can get this warrantied and give my old Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI some more life.
- Other Thoughts: The optional analog USB power usage/temp gauge is intriguing, but kind of silly. Looks like a street racer Tach on a Honda Civic. However, I would happily buy a 5.25 drive bay digital version of this power supply monitor.
