5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Tested it and works great, I have not a single failure with this. Has USB 3 ports, reads all kind of flash cards, what more can you ask for? The design itself is very cool.

Cons: The price

5 out of 5 eggsNice unit

Pros: Works as advertised and was easy to install

Cons: No problems

Other Thoughts: If your computer has front-end usb 3.0 ports, you may find them plugged into the only usb 3.0 header on your mother board. I had to add a little expansion card that provided an additional 3.0 header to plug this device into.

4 out of 5 eggsBest Internal CF Card Reader

Pros: * USB 3.0 speeds reading flash. I no longer can take a break waiting for gigs of photos and video recordings to transfer.
* 4 USB 3.0 ports on the front of the machine.
* Comes with two USB port covers in case you already have 2 on your case, but would like to conceal them after installing this unit.

Cons: * Requires a SATA power connector to power the front USB ports, and the power connector isn't that tight. Install very carefully!
* SATA power connector is recessed vs. something like a DVD drive. This makes it difficult to reach with your fingers in tight quarters.
* USB 3.0 header cable is bulky and connector can also be easily bumped off the motherboard. This isn't Atech's fault, but just a standardized design problem you have to deal with.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from their equally awesome PRO-55U. The power light only comes on when you're reading a CF card, so don't fret if it doesn't light up when the machine turns on.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Bought this item based on reviews and likely durability. Worked great right out of the box. Well packaged, Win 8.1 recognized it right away. USB 3.0 x4 is great to use with Flash drives...reads everything I've got fast. USB 3.0 connectors on back with HD wires to USB 3.0 on MB + sata power connection gives this rig lots of gusto. Well built...very happy with quality.

Cons: A little pricey but if it works great for a long time it's worth it.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend this product as getting something that fails soon isn't worth the savings.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Device

Pros: Reads all formats with great speed, can read different brands of card at their rated speeds(sandisk, lexar, transcend) the Usb 3.0 is great! don't forget to plug in Sata Power.. just a great card reader

Cons: Not for me

Other Thoughts: I build my computers for mixed media, because with clients you never know how you are going to get files sent to you.. the Atech pro-77u handles all cards without a problem

5 out of 5 eggsTo the few who can't get USB 3.0 ports to work

Pros: Copies 3GB of photos off a CF card in less than a minute (closer to 30 seconds). If I tried that with my old 2.0 card reader, it would take about 10 minutes to copy

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: If you can't get the USB 3.0 ports to work, even after plugging in the SATA cable, switch the two USB 3.0 connectors in the back of the unit. My USB ports didn't work initially, but after switching the USB connectors, they work.

3 out of 5 eggsPoor quality for the price

Pros: - 4 x 3.0 usb ports
- multi-function card readers
- Full bay on a standard case
- easy to install

Cons: - no instructions included
- the light does not work

Other Thoughts: For the price they charge for this, the instructions should be included and the light should work. The ports seem to operate at the appropriate speed, which is not worth the hassle of returning. I saw another review with the exact same problem. I really liked my AFT XM-4U, but this was a major disappointment which will have me looking at other companies in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsPro-77u USB 3.0

Pros: Initially thought I had problems and contacted tech support. Very quick response and they sent me a replacement promptly. Second unit showed same symptoms. I downloaded drivers from ASUS for P9M WS motherboard, deleted current drivers and rebooted. Windows 7 installed generic Windows drivers on reboot and unit was recognized immediately. I did not install ASUS/Intel drivers since unit was working properly.

Cons: Intel drivers/controller for USB 3.0 for this motherboard did not work and made the unit appear dead. This was no fault of the Pro-77U.

Other Thoughts: Using generic drivers the unit works perfectly. Very fast USB 3.0 speeds. You do not get a light when you plug in USB drive but do when you install a card. Kudos to AFT's tech support people for timely and courteous support.
