5 out of 5 eggsEggsellent Power!

Pros: This is a really good PSU! I needed a new power supply after one of the nasty thunderstorms we had in my area knocked out my old one. This one was recomended by a friend of mine who builds custom computers for businesses and gamers. Right away I noticed the overall quality of this unit. Its quite heavy, indicating good components, has plenty of connections for even a heavily stuffed case, the voltages are spot on, and it runs cool. Has plenty of power for a fairly beefed up computer system...Oh...and its QUIET! Had plenty of power for me to upgrade to a better video card! Overall an excellent product.

Cons: Not really a con but it is OVERKILL for my modest system. It also has alot of unused cables to contend with, May need them some other time but for now they are stuffed into an empty drive bay.

Other Thoughts: In my opinion, this is probably one of the hidden gems, both price wise and quality wise, of all of the PSU's I researched. Newegg is my number 1 place to shop for computer parts online....Happy customer for several years now....THANK YOU NEWEGG!

5 out of 5 eggsBest power supply I've owned

Pros: Rock-solid, stable, clean voltages
650W Continuous at 50 Celsius
Single +12V rail (with plenty of Amps)
Silverstone quality

Cons: Cables are not fully sleeved
Could use more SATA connectors
Modular would be nice, but it so happens I needed all the connectors anyway, so no biggie

Other Thoughts: I bought this power supply as an upgrade in order to power my system, which I recently upgraded:
Phenom II 965 OC'ed to 3.8 GHz
8GB Patriot Viper II 1066 memory
3 HDDs (2 in RAID, 1 as a backup)
3 DVD burners
2 x Sapphire HD 4850 (in CrossfireX)
Aerocool fan speed controller
4 x 120mm Arctic Cooling high-performance case fans

As an added bonus, I got this when it had a $40 rebate. Fastest rebate I have ever received. Mailed in rebate on March 8th, received on March 22.

This is a quality piece of equipment. If you are looking for a top-notch PSU, get this! You will not be disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: Aesthetically pleasing...Solid build quaity(heavy)...All the right plugs...Solid voltages on all the rails...Very quiet...Runs nice and cool

Cons: The wires are not wrapped all the way to the plugs so if you have a window you might want to consider this.I don't have a window in my case so I don't care.

Other Thoughts: Overall great PSU Google for reviews and you'll see how good this PSU truly is.My first choice was the Corsair 650 but after reading the customer reviews on the Corsair unit I was surprised to see quite a few DOA's which made me take a second look at the Silverstone.Glad I made the switch and very happy with my purchase.

On a side note I also own a Silverstone 650 Zeus PSU which is about 3 or 4 years old and still works as good as it did when I first got it,with all the voltages still right on the money.

4 out of 5 eggsOnly 6 sata power cables

Pros: Single rail power, don't have to load balance. Quiet, worked out of the box.

Cons: only two cable runs with 3 ports each of sata power. No Power Fan mother board connector, can't monitor power fan speed.

Other Thoughts: I set up a system with 4 drive raid, 1 drive backup and 1 CD drive. The power cables didn't work. I could not find a way to plug in the CD drive and the 5 hard drives. I had to buy an conversion 4 prong power cable to convert to sata power. Not a big issue, but not what I was expecting. My suggestion would be 3 cables with 3 ports of sata and 1 cable with 3 ports of old style power.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Power Supply... Gota Love SilverStone

Pros: Looks Great fits all my needs, it even had a few slots I didn't even need, as of now that is. Its a great power supply for the price as well.

Cons: The cute little converter for 20pin to 24pin moves a little more then it should upon instalation could annoying if your working in a smaller case. Although... I don't think you'd need this kind of power suplly for a small Pc...

Other Thoughts: Great power supply, no problems what so ever...

5 out of 5 eggs650W

Pros: Very long cables, perfect for a mid/full tower with space to run cables under the motherboard tray. Wires are wrapped in mesh for 3/4 of their total length, making it easier to tie off excess cable.

It's also fairly quiet and does not emit much heat, even when operating under load

Cons: Not modular. The cables are not tubed in mesh all the way to the connector; this is great for cable management, but doesn't look so hot.

Other Thoughts: Great quality for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsowned for 2.5 years, no problems

Pros: just wanted to chime in that I've owned this PSU since 6/07 and I haven't experienced any real issues going from an AMD X2 / 7950GT system to an Intel E8500 / 4870 system. I haven't come close to stressing the PSU, but it has performed well for me.

Cons: I've experienced PSU whining while using Internet Explorer and mouse scroll in certain websites. it's a very wierd issue. there is no PSU whining when mouse scrolling in Chrome or FireFox.

5 out of 5 eggscorrection to one egg "fried" review

Pros: I owe Silverstone an apology. It turns out a capacitor fried on the motherboard. Because the PS has a fan it sucked up the burnt electronic smell and it stayed in the PS so I thought that was the cause. Turns out I was wrong. I am still using this PS and has worked great. Quiet and powerful.
Sorry Silverstone and thank you for a solid product.

Cons: none
