5 out of 5 eggsAll around fantastic psu if you're willing to pay for it

Pros: Fantastic power, quiet, great modular setup and best of all, reliable. I bought this psu almost 7 years ago and have really put it through its paces, after spending a year injured with nothing to do but work and play on this pc it never once was anything other than rock solid. 4 moves, arizona dust and woefully infrequent cleaning and this psu handled it all without fail until today when i sadly heard a pop and lost all power. I would highly recommend this psu if you need its capabilities, unless they've drastically changed the design in 7 years you wont have any issues with it.

Cons: Since I have to put a con I'll say price, but I knew that going in to the purchase. I had no bad surprises or disappointments with this unit.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately the price is just too high to justify buying another one as I've replaced all my other components with vastly less power hungry ones but if I needed the power you bet I'd have it in my shopping cart right now.

5 out of 5 eggsGood product, good price

Pros: Modular design allows for great cable management, and efficiency is very nice. Device is able to run 3x7970 with no problem, and stays extremely cool in almost any casing situation.

Cons: Has no on/off switch for easy PSU kill while testing. No deal breaker, though!

Other Thoughts: High-capacity PSU for a fair price point, modular design is great.

1 out of 5 eggsManufactured by Enhance

Pros: Small form factor 1000w power supply. This power supply is only worth it if your building a high power small form factor system.

Cons: This power supply makes coil whine under load due to moving the capacitors on the PCI-e cables. Enhance has a very bad design and even Silverstones Strider Evolution series is made by Enhance.

Silverstones older power supplys used to be made by Impervio. The Impervio units, the Zeus/Decathlon models were better quality then the Strider Plus/Strider Evolution series that Silverstone produces today and are also rated for up to 50c, compared to the Strider Plus/Strider Evolution that is rated up to 40c.

If you use the pre sleeved PCI-e cables for this power supply that Silverstone sells for it then the coil whine will get even louder as this power supply relies on the capacitors on the PCI-e power cables to reduce coil whine noise.

Other Thoughts: Its never good to see products go backwards in design and quality.

5 out of 5 eggsQuietly Happy

Pros: Truly Quiet

Cons: none, well, maybe price

Other Thoughts: I don't see coil whine mentioned in this PS reviews. If you had it before it's a pain to put up with. It's hard to know if you can buy your way out of it.
The fan is quiet for a fan. No annoying growling. When my system is maxed out Folding @ Home, this PS is hardly noticed.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems to be a good unit

Pros: Very quiet, up to a certain point (see Cons/other thoughts). LOVE the modular design. First fully modular PSU I've ever owned and I will never buy one that isn't fully modular again. Most of the cables are pretty long. Powers my system with plenty of reserve left to expand.

Cons: Fan bearing is going out after only a month. Makes a REALLY annoying clicking noise. My case has filters, one of which is directly below the PSU, so I know it's not because of dust or anything. Says right on the unit that it is not intended to be serviced by the consumer, so my only option is to send it in for RMA. I really don't want to do that, my system can't be down for 2 weeks or more. How hard can it be to replace a fan? It's the first thing in the unit you could touch. Minus 1 egg for the lackluster fan.

Only other con I can see is that one of the supplied 12v cables for the CPU (the one that is split into 4+4 pins) is much shorter than the 8 pin connector. I can not plug it into the second power connector on my EVGA Z68 FTW because it won't reach up through the case. I'll just get another 8 pin and fix that. :)

Other Thoughts: REALLY wish I could just replace the fan. If a Silverstone rep happens to see this, please consider making that an option for the user.

4 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Very quiet and small for a 1Kw PSU. Very sleek matte black coating. Not sure why, but I didn't realize it was FULLY modular, so that was a very nice perk when it arrived. The cables are long and fit in my NZXT Phantom 820 very nicely.

I like the fact that the 8pin and 6pin PCIe power connectors are incorporated onto the same cable!

Cons: It does not have a power cutoff switch on the back. I like to have it as a quick power cut in case something happens like my water cooling loop springing a leak (heaven forbid!)
-1 egg

Other Thoughts: So far so good!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent supply, has been reliable and stable. Keeping an 8-core 12gb ram xeon hackintosh happy, run cool and quiet.

Cons: Started makingbearing noise 1 year into constant use. Next time I'l look for a psu with maglev bearings, no other fan in the whole computer is in a worse spot to replace....

Other Thoughts: Good supply, keep it clean, hopefully i will get a warranty response.
