5 out of 5 eggsModular installation is the way to go!

Pros: Building a system without a modular power supply is just silly these days. Whether you are building a gaming system or a family PC the freedom a modular Power Supply gives you is awesome. This came with everything you I needed to properly secure the Power Supply as well.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsI will never buy SilverStone product ever again

Pros: 100% modular power supply, plenty of cables etc...

Cons: This power supply is used i a HTPC. Fan started making loud noise (much like a diesel engine). Wrote to SilverStone on 3 occasions and never got a reply. They have to be the worst technical support in the industry, or just don't care about the people the sell to. I would not recommend any SilverStone product to anyone.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from SilverStone products unles you have money to waste

4 out of 5 eggsgreat power supply

Pros: Quiet, even under full load. Modular. Reliable

Cons: Having no power switch on the back makes working on your computer tricky. I always ground myself of off the psu, and because of the lack of a switch I now use a spare psu to ground myself. Also the cable sleeving is somewhat transparent, along with not going close enough to the connectors.

Other Thoughts: Despite the cons that i listed this is a solid psu for the money that i would recommend to anyone.

1 out of 5 eggsStay Away!

Pros: Modular, and when it worked it was good.

Cons: I wrote a review earlier giving this psu a 4/5 but as of now, i feel i have to let people know to stay away from this psu. As i stated before, i rmaed my original because of a faulty fan. Received a new psu with a faulty fan. And as of last night the psu now makes a constant beeping noise, even when the pc is off. Unplugging the power cord is the only thing that stopped the beeping. Silver stone has the worst customer service i ever had to deal with.

Other Thoughts: I haven't even owned this psu for more than a year and its already time to buy a new one.
I don't even want to go through the horrible rma process again so this psu will be going in the trash.
Silver stone makes great cases but stay away from their power supplies.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing SilverStone. Although rare nowadays, there is a possibility that your system may be incompatible with ST75F-P's power output characteristics. Sometimes incompatibility may result in system to not booting up correctly all the time or cause electrical noise. In any event, we still want to make sure you have a working SilverStone PSU and is 100% satisfied, so please contact our US office directly again and let us help you get another PSU:

4 out of 5 eggsVERY BAD Customer service revised.

Pros: I would like to revise my comment that I posted earlier today. I had to speak with a manager at Silverstone and explain the problem that I was having. He called me back after five minutes and appologized about my problem. He also advised he would have a newer model sent out today. He also gave me the tracking # up front.

Cons: Had to work for replacement.

1 out of 5 eggsVERY BAD customer service

Pros: Worked great for about two years.

Cons: About a moth and a half ago for unknown reasons my power supply quit working. I ran a PS tester and it failed. I contacted Silverstone and they RMAed the power supply with a same model replacement. I reinstalled the replacement and it lasted about ten seconds. The PSU smoked and you could smell an electrical fire. I contacted Silverstone again and the said send it in on the same RMA. It arrived at silverstone on wednesday and I did'nt here anything from them till the next week after I contacted them. They had lost the package. The tech did call me back the same day when he found it. He advised that he would send me the new model of this PSU on Thursday. Now it is Tuesday of the next week and I contacted them again. The tech advised that there was nothing wrong with the power supply and they would send it out in a couple of days.

Other Thoughts: I never post a bad review on anyone, but I cant stand a LIAR.

3 out of 5 eggsNoisy, but most supplies regulate well

Pros: It supplies all of the voltages it's asked to and comes with modular cables and it was not DOA.

Cons: For a silent power supply, it's very noisy. I can hear it from 10 feet away while watching TV at normal levels and it's already somewhat secluded in an open closet next to the TV. It may average near the specified minimum noise levels at low power but it ticks and rattles like many other people have mentioned and this is what you hear. I'm sure these ticks get averaged out on noise level tests but they are very noticeable and should be included in SilverStonse's details section so people can make informed decisions.

Either this noise issue is by design or SilverStone has failed to inform their testers what "silent" really means and either way you should probably steer clear of this supply if you're buying it because you need complete silence.

The 12V supply is somewhat high at 12.3V. Still in spec, but close to the 3% regulation limit and disappointing for a HQ power supply. 1% regulators aren't very expensive these days...

Other Thoughts: I purchased this to replace a SilverStone ST75F that failed shortly into its fourth year of use. More out of need to get a supply quickly than because I wanted another SilverStone. It seems that all manufacturers who market silent fans have a number of DOAs and complaints about supplies not being silent so I figured I'd go with the one I know the best.

The ST75F did have a nice quiet fan that did not tick so I thought maybe I'd get lucky, but apparently a $140 for a power supply isn't enough to guarantee quality any more.

Not sure I want to deal with an RMA for this, I may just research other vendors and go with one that has a higher rating for actually being silent since others here have failed to get a silent supply after going through an RMA with SilverStone. I'm very disappointed I'll have to go through another power supply search and return this one.

3 out of 5 eggsVery Solid PSU, except the fan

Pros: -Fully Modular
-All cables were long enough to reach in my Full tower
-Accurate Voltages as needed

Cons: -Even at Idle the fan rattles, which is really annoying. It didnt do this the first week I had it, then suddenly tick-tick-tick-tick.

Other Thoughts: The PSU works, just not silently. My case fans are much quieter, until I play a game and they spin up then I cant hear the PSU.

2 out of 5 eggsWell it was nice...

Pros: Modular...

It still works, sort of...

Cons: Fan has been making a tapping noise since the first month of ownership. I went away for almost a year and finally started looking into the issue and seems the Striders had faulty fans installed. Definitely plan to RMA through Silverstone. Paid $150 for a noisy PSU is not acceptable.
