4 out of 5 eggsNeed a bit of work

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W ATX 12V v2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Smooth Power, steady current under load.I just voided the warranty to change the very noisy fan.NOT QUIET.

Cons: Bad Fans,Silverstone needs better quality fans.I just replaced the one in it because of a rattly fan.No more warranty.

Other Thoughts: Better fans i will make it a 5 star.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W ATX 12V v2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Large fan, runs very quiet. Sleeving on cables is nice but could cover more of the cable.

Cons: Cables are very stiff and some bending is needed to get the SATA power cables to fit correctly in tight cases/drive bay situations.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Power Supply

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W ATX 12V v2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Runs cool and quietly. The size is perfect for smaller builds. I used this model for a NAS running 6 Caviar Green drives and an ASROCK Quad-Core Atom Server board in a Fractal Node 304. It fits nicely and powers everything without any issues. I'm also running a higher end model in my HTPC and it has been working like a champ for over a year.

Cons: It doesn't print money.

Other Thoughts: I enjoy cake.

5 out of 5 eggsBoss status PSU

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W ATX 12V v2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Worked out of the box.
Not that big but the perfect size.
Fully Modular.
Cable length is decent (cables come sleeved)

Cons: The 8 pin connector is a bit too short to route behind my case.

Other Thoughts: If you're going to buy a PSU, this is definitely a great PSU. Fully Modular, cables are mostly a good length, and it's 80+ Bronze Certified.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh quality Power Supply makes all the difference

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W ATX 12V v2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: First of all I just want to say, computers are EXTREMELY sensitive. No they can't feel emotions, but they can feel dirty power, and if you are going to look at the price of this and say . . . but some other brand offers the same amount of wattage for less, you are extremely mis-guided my friend. Let me share my past experience with you. I had purchased a power supply claiming 580W for $20, this was a Logisys, a new egg purchase. Fancy gloss black aluminum looked like a real steal. Well I got it, and guess what, my fancy computer worked for about a few months, few hiccups no problems. . . until the SSD Failed, so I contacted Mushkin and they replaced it right away. . . No biggie, must just be a bad SSD right? WRONG. Well I upgraded that year to a Nvidia GTX 280, power hog - mind you. My computer FAILED to run ANY 3d game, it couldn't even initialize Direct X. At first I thought it was the card, THEN IT DAWNED ON ME, could this be why i've been having performance hiccups? Could this be why my SSD failed, could this be why my games ARE NOT PLAYING. So I bought this gem and wala everything is running good. Not only is this power supply, supplying the actual rated output, but it is cleaning the dirty power so my computer is protected from fluctuation in the grid (like the cold spell where the power company tried to break everyone's stuff) It is a fantastic power supply and I would buy a second one.

Cons: Price? But what is the price of protection?

Other Thoughts: I had bought this Silverstone power supply because I was tired of coil whine in my computers(high pitch when plugging in), dirty power ruining parts (SSD went bad) Games failing, etc. etc.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Silent - not happy

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W ATX 12V v2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It works.

Cons: This is a loud power supply. It is advertised as having a "silent" fan. Do to this experience I will not purchase Siverstone products again until their advertising matches their product performance. To make matters worse, I sent in for the $5.00 rebate (had to cut the UPC from the box) before I had a chance to install it - neither Newegg or Silverstone will allow me to return it - painful $70.00 lesson learned. If you are at all concerned with noise levels and dBA, do not touch this power supply. I have turned the power supply with the fan outward and inward and I can still hear it from 15ft away.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W ATX 12V v2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This is a great PSU, i love the full modular feature. 500W was a bit much for my new rig but i plan to add a little bit to it and this one is so quiet.

Cons: i dont know if there is a setting but i havent been able to see the blue lights that come out of the bottom. not a huge issue because i dont have any other lights on the computer so its kinda nice but yeah,

5 out of 5 eggsNew Juice

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W ATX 12V v2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Efficiency is welcome as it keeps money in my pocket rather than at the power company.
Power enough for my needs
Silverstone name just puts my mind at ease I guess, I can't afford to replace blown up components.

Cons: MB cable required a good deal of effort to get into back of supply correctly.
a bit on the expensive side and I haven't had it long but I'm confident it's built well and will last me a long time.
No manual switch on back which I like.

Other Thoughts: The blue fan makes it look like LED's are in there I guess, but no. I didn't want lights in my case anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PSU for the price

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W ATX 12V v2.3 & EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Excellent amount of power to support and run anything you may need. I love the fact that this is completely modular and you may choose which cords you use in your system to prevent any over crowding of cords not needed. The bronze certification is great for keeping the energy cost down since i keep my running 24/7.

Cons: I haven't found any yet. It's super quiet, excellent cable management and plenty of power to run everything in my system with power to spare.

Other Thoughts: This is probably the best value for a certified PSU that is fully modular. Definitely will be watching for SilverStone PSU's for future builds.
