To meet the ever higher requirements imbued by professional users and enthusiasts alike, SilverStone created the Strider Gold series power supplies. The Strider Gold models are built on similar platform as the award-winning Strider Plus series but with even higher efficiency ratings. The Strider Gold series will encompass wattage range from 750W to 1200W for a great variety of applications. In addition to 80 PLUS Gold level efficiency, all models are built to meet very high standards in electrical performance so they have ±3% voltage regulation, ±3% ripple & noise, and high amperage single +12V rail. Other notable features also included are 24/7 40-degree continuous output capability, Japanese capacitors, low-noise 135mm fan, and multiple sets of PCI-E cables. For those looking for a power supply with faultless combination of performance, efficiency, and quality, there is no need to look beyond the Strider Gold Series.

  • newegg 80 PLUS Gold Certified The 80 PLUS Gold certified power supply provides high power efficiency of at least 87% at any load between 20% and 100%, saving your money on your electrical bill, reducing heat in your computer's system and prolonging its life.
  • newegg ATX12V and EPS12V Compatible & Dual EPS 8Pin Connectors Compliance with the Intel ATX12V v2.3 and EPS12V standards, the SilverStone Strider Gold ST85F-G provides maximum power stability to drive the processors as well as other components for desktop and server computer systems. Dual EPS 8pin connectors are included for use with dual-CPU server and workstation motherboards.
  • newegg 850W Continuous Power with Single Strong +12V Rail The SilverStone Strider Gold ST85F-G delivers 750W (950W peak power) 24-hour continuous power output under 40-degree operating temperature. Powerful single +12V rail at up to 70A design ensures the maximum provision of 12V power to energy-hungry CPU and graphics cards perfect for future high-end component upgrades or overclocking.
  • newegg 100% Modular Cable Design Modular cable design allows use of only the cables you need resulting in improved internal airflow and reduced system clutter. The Strider Gold ST85F-G’s 100% modular cable design allows for use with short cable kit such as SilverStone’s PP05 or for easy removal in case with cable routed and tied down.
  • newegg Silent Fan Built-in 135mm fan has excellent airflow for heat dissipation and guarantees silent operation.
  • newegg Multi-GPU Supported Coming with 2x 8/6-Pin and 2x 6-Pin PCI-E connectors, the SilverStone Strider Gold ST85F-G allows you to build CrossFireX or SLI gaming systems. In addition, 2200uF capacitors are attached to PCI-E connectors to reduce electrical whine/buzz associated with high performance graphics card’s dynamic loading changes. This design also helps to maintain better voltage stability and improve ripple & noise performance.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Long enough cables to reach from the bottom of my ATX full tower case to the top with room to tuck

-Modular design offers excess of each type of connection

-Color coded, labeled, and mesh wrapped connectors make it fool proof even without a high level of tech knowledge to install properly and make your case look clean

Cons: There is no power switch on the back. This, for many, would not be considered a con but it was something that I knew going into the purchase. Personal preference to have an I/O switch on the back.

Other Thoughts: Bought on sale with a mail in rebate. Would be well worth the retail price tag after using the product.

Mail in rebate came in half the estimated time. Props to Silverstone for being on their A game all around.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Modular PSU

Pros: This is a solid PSU with some good features. First off, it's modular, which is very nice when you're worried about cable management. I was also looking for at least an 80 Plus Silver, so this went above and beyond that. Another great thing is that the cables come sleeved. It's nothing fancy, but is a nice touch that I liked to see.

Cons: Nothing to complain about here. It's a PSU and does what it's supposed to. Enough said.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Very nice finish, modular, doesn't make a sound.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Not really a con, had a bit of an issue sliding it in my Cooler Master Cosmos II, though Im sure the issue is with the case not the PSU, just a heads up for anybody for anybody buying this PSU for that case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: No issues installing, plenty of cables and the cable length is perfect. Also you get more than one sata power cable per length of cable.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsSound design is Sound

Pros: This PSU is very quiet, the fan RPM's don't even begin to spike until 65-75% load. Which is great for me, being as I over-purchased on wattage. Modular; no smoke and mirrors...every cable is modular and very well insulated. Right-angled SATA power connections are a plus as well. It seems to me, the folks at SilverStone take their PSU's very seriously. Throw your old PSU in the trash where it belongs...but seriously, don't. Dispose of it properly.

Cons: Nothing major, but no power switch.

Other Thoughts: The box was so big, I sort of expected a pair of shoes to be in there. :P

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: This power supply is 100% modular, which came in handy while I was upgrading my system. It puts out the juice that my system needs, and allows me to upgrade in the future. So far seems to be a solid PSU. Only time will tell with that one - I'll update this as time goes on.

Cons: The PSU is a little longer than I was expecting - but nothing my system couldn't fit. Ensure that you measure before you order this PSU. No other cons to address about it, though.

Other Thoughts: An overall great PSU that surpassed all of my expectations thus far.

5 out of 5 eggsSilverstone POWER

Pros: This is my 3rd power supply i have bought from this company and i must say they make a very reliable and quality product! Runs as advertise and has enough cable length and connectors for just about any configuration you can think of!

Cons: Not really a con, but this really is 100% Modular. I knew this when i bought it but it would be just another one of the many things i love about this series if the main connector and 8pin connector at least were already wired to make cable management that much easier to manage.

Other Thoughts: Great power supply and plenty future proof, for further upgrades and if i decide(which i will) add more hard drives or upgrade processor or upgrade the graphics!
